I couldn't decide between the two so I went with the dirty bird poutine, which is a fried boneless chicken thigh over poutine. The portion was huge! I was full after eating half and saved the rest for dinner when I was back home. The poutine and the chicken were both fried perfection--crispy, but not oily. Service was outstanding too! Our waiter was extremely friendly and checked on us frequently, and gave us recommendations of things to do while in Kingston. Definitely recommend stopping at Hey Darlin' for a filling meal, especially if you eat gluten-free.

I haven't had the chance to dine in the cafe yet, mostly because it gets extremely busy, especially on weekends. That said, the bakery/store has so many great finds. Their bread is excellent quality and a great value for the size, at around $5 for a small loaf and $8 for a larger one. My favorite is the olive rosemary sourdough, which is absolutely delicious. The saucisson sec is another great local find. The baked goods offer a nice rotating variety, with everything from Québec maple chômeurs to Italian maritozzi. On my last visit, I tried the Vietnamese coffee panna cotta, which was excellent. There's also an large gluten-free selection, ranging from breads to fresh-baked goods. The gluten-free scones are a particular standout. Beyond the food, Pan Chancho also has a great selection of kitchen and pantry-related items, including spices, pasta, sauces, hand towels, reusable bags, and more. It's the kind of place where you can go in for a loaf of bread and easily leave with a whole bag of interesting little things. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in downtown Kingston! The bakery alone is reason enough to visit, even if you don't get a chance to sit down at the cafe.

This Husky has what you expect, which is a gas station. I was pleasantly surprised that it has its own diner. Had I known, I would have eaten here instead of at the rest stop! I didn't have a problem finding a free pump. I paid at the pump and also used my Husky rewards card to collect points. The diner looks pretty big from the outside. There were many semi-trailers and a few cars parked around it. I am guessing that the food is pretty good if it's got a good turnout at around 3 pm. The gas station was clean. I was both thankful and happy that I found this Husky. I left with a full tank of gas that got me to Markham just fine. I had enough gas to returning it to the rental place, so I was ecstatic! (255)
