I was full after eating half and saved the rest for dinner when I was back home. The poutine and the chicken were both fried perfection--crispy, but not oily. Service was outstanding too! Our waiter was extremely friendly and checked on us frequently, and gave us recommendations of things to do while in Kingston. They have a catering menu, a cafe for brunch, they have fresh breads available and they do specialty cakes. They are totally the real deal. AND they sell Neal Brothers' cheese puffs. Being that we're still getting used to the "new normal", we weren't ready to dine in, and wanted a seat outside. **Note: to get a seat on the patio, you actually have to go outside to find the hostess and request a table. It was a Sunday afternoon, and they were doing a booming business! But the wait was not long. We had a hard time choosing from the menu; there are a LOT of options! I was expecting a beautiful bakery selection but it was more sandwiches and other unusual, eclectic meals. We eventually chose a burger for hubby, and a shrimp sandwich for me, with a regular coffee for him and Café au lait for me. The Café was great, and even came with a wafer cookie. The wait was not long for our meals. OK, to be honest, I was not expecting to have my sinuses cleared out while I ate, but the food was so spicy to me, also with an after bite, that I was blowing my nose throughout the meal! I didn't have a problem finding a free pump. I paid at the pump and also used my Husky rewards card to collect points. The diner looks pretty big from the outside. There were many semi-trailers and a few cars parked around it. I am guessing that the food is pretty good if it's got a good turnout at around 3 pm. The gas station was clean. I was both thankful and happy that I found this Husky. I left with a full tank of gas that got me to Markham just fine. I had enough gas to returning it to the rental place, so I was ecstatic! (255)
