The ambience is always good there... They definitely have that! It's a great location. The good thing was the efficiency and helpfulness of the server. She even was very understanding when I said that my food didn't taste right and it was cold. I had ordered the special of mahi tacos... Firstly, they were just so plain with pieces of mahi in a tortilla, with some form of a salsa in a little cup... they did not taste fresh... Just very "fishy". We have been there many times and always enjoyed it but this time we had a problem. One of the passengers in my boat was a Vietnam war veteran and his two huskies. While we were docking we were approached by a waiter and told they do not allow dogs on the outside deck. I told them these dogs were my friend's service dogs as they go everywhere with him. So, we proceeded to get my friends off the boat including the Vietnam veteran who can barely walk, and needs a lot of assistance getting on and off the boat. When we got to the deck we were met by a manager named Travis. He told us we cannot come on the deck with the dogs. I explained again to him that these were service dogs and he started questioning me about the kind of service dogs they were and what condition my friend had that he needed a service dogs. He refused us service and we had to turn around and get my friends back on the boat. read more

Found this gem by accident 4/17/2026. We were on our way back to the beach and saw the sign. Decided to check it out. So very glad we did. Super cute tiki bar, live music (very talented singer), outside Adirondack Chairs set in white soft sand with lights strung for night. Tall tables are along the river. The square tiki bar is covered for guests wanting to avoid the sun/heat. Plenty of fans. Service was ridiculously good, drinks fairly priced for a Sunday afternoon and very nice pours. No 1" heads on beers here. We watched pelicans fish, dolphins playing, seabirds, and boaters go by. So very relaxing. It might be our favorite place and so look forward to visiting again. I grew up on these beaches but this great restaurant and bar wasn't here then. Go with complete confidence. Oh, our burger was absolutely amazing. So dang tasty, cooked perfectly. The setting was wonderful, a nice deck, on the river. Food was ok but service was slow. We had asked for coleslaw and got mango rice, could have asked for slaw but weren't sure we could get it in a timely fashion. Mahi sandwich was overdone, crab cake sandwich was really good, as was the crab salad tower and the burger was cooked just right - fries were good. Wayne ordered a Bloody Mary and the limp, blackened celery stalk was enough to make a person swear off of celery for ever. Would like to try it again, maybe next year? read more

Came over from Central Florida for their "Cajun Seafood Fest." Such a beautiful day to be outside by the intracoastal. Saw a manatee cruise by. My husband's shrimp po' boy tacos were good. The lobster Alfredo flatbread was a good attempt. The flavors and flatbread were good overall, but the lobster was overcooked, dry, and had a slightly fishy, past its prime taste. read more

I LOVE this place! My wife and I are locals and I grew up in the area and don't realize this was back behind the boat storage place. What an awesome little gem! We came here during the middle if the day for lunch. It wasn't too full. They said we had to wait 15 minutes for a table but it took less than that. We sat right in the deck next to the docks. Sometimes you can see dolphins and fish swimming around, but they didn't come out while we were there. This is a huge seafood restaurant, however they have options that aren't seafood! They also have gator nuggets if you like gator. I ordered the tropical salad with grilled chicken and Rasta sauce on the side, it has a big kick to it! My husband order shrimp scampi and he said it was pretty good. Our drinks were great! They were very strong and delicious! Definitely will come back and have a couple drinks! read more

Good food with great views! Fried Grouper Bites were the highlight of dinner! I ordered the Mahi tacos and unfortunately there was more tomato than anything so I wouldn't recommend, but the burgers are always delicious. They also have good ranch which is always a plus. read more

Sat outside on the deck right by the water which was really nice. It was a Saturday evening so it was pretty busy. Most of their cocktails had pineapple and my dad is allergic so I had them make a key lime pie martini which was very good. We shared the ahi salad which I thought was ok, not amazing. The steamed shrimp I got without old bay, but they were a little overcooked. However, it was a good portion and I enjoyed them. The oysters are on special on Saturdays so I tried the bayou ones. I was surprised at how they looked when they came out as they looked very dry, which they were. Although they weren't saucy like I was expecting, they still tasted good. Overall the food was good and the view was nice. I'd return and try some other things. I didn't love that you are required to valet- didn't seem 100% necessary. read more

Basic food and bar by the water, 3 stars for the views and the food wasn't half bad but the best I've had either. "Dog friendly" but they have a list of things they don't want the dogs to do, including barking, which can't be helped by some. My dog is a rescue and very quiet so he never barks anyway, but I feel it would be hard for other pet owners. The dog menu had no prices, neither did the cocktail menu. I had the mahi mahi sandwich and that was filling but again not the best I've had. Plus side-the views were nice and it was a lovely day to sit out. Parking is a little weird because it's complimentary valet only although there is a big parking space but it's not paved, it's all dirt so you pay a tip to get your car dirty. read more

This location is so cute and it's huge. We unintentionally stumbled here during a jimmy buffet tribute weekend. It was a little bit of chaos to figure out what was open seating and what was not. We like coming here for drinks and small bites by the water. The bar has a lot to offer and the views are amazing. There is an island vibe and everything is very laid back. It can get busy during the hotter days, but in the winter we have no problem getting a spot we like. The service has always been kind and everything served how we want it. They do valet parking, so we look for street parking up the road and walk down to the restaurant. read more

Highly disappointed Food was not great! Ordered the seafood platter and the key lime scallops. (Scallops were okay but literally only came with FOUR TINY scallops and the crab in the platter was ridiculously awful!) Loved this place! A little pricey but the food was decent and the beach atmosphere and views speaks for themselves. My girlfriends and I were able to be seated right away under the covered patio. The waitress was really nice and bubbly and took our drink orders while we searched the menu. My friend and I ended up splitting a fish sandwich which was really good. Overall my favorite part was the beach vibe without it being right on Flagler. It was a little less busy, I've been to new Smyrna beach dozens of times and never heard of this place so it was nice to be able to go to someplace different a little off the beaten path. read more

The sausage was what brought the flavor or spice, was pretty good! The chicken salad was great the rasta sauce is very good as well. Definitely would recommend this place, when you pull in the valet signs might be confusing but they said it was complimentary. Numerous joint agreements and complaints as follows: Music and loud speakers should be dampened with proper sound deadening for the guests to allow bartenders to hear when they are called upon and for a more enjoyable atmosphere The menu in four years has not changed yet the cooks consistently screw up orders They charge $5.00 for a chocolate milk and sweet tea to disabled veterans who don't drink alcohol. The view is gorgeous and they have a boat dock for anyone that's out on the water and wants to stop in for some food. The service was good. Our server was busy with a large party but he did pretty well at not forgetting about us even with that group. The staff seems to work well together with food runners and bussers helping out the servers along the way. We were both happy with our food. I didn't love the gator bites just by personal choice but wanted to try something we don't usually get. They were nice and tender though and were served with a honey mustard sauce. My fish sandwich was yummy but it was messy as the dish was so soft it just toppled over after every bite. I wish there was a little bit more flavor or seasoning on the fish to make it even better. The crab cakes were really good and my husband finished his entire plate so that's always a good sign. We will definitely go back next time we are staying in NSB. This place is much less busy than the restaurants right on Flagler and it's a nice change of scenery to view activity on the inter coastal. read more

River Deck is a great find in New Smyrna Beach near the downtown area! It's right on the intercoastal so you have nice views of the water, boats, and even occasional birds and sea life. On our second visit, we saw dolphins swimming by in the evening, so that was a bonus! Parking is valet only, or you can park on the street about a block or two away. We chose to park on the street both times and had no problems. We also had excellent service both times! Food came out hot and fast, despite it being relatively busy. During our brunch experience, I had the breakfast "boat" which was perfect for me, as I was looking for something with protein and a few veggies. I also sipped on a mimosa while watching the boats go by. On our dinner visit, I chose mahi mahi tacos. My son loves their kids meals here because they are served on frisbees you get to take home! Plus, their fries are crispy and delicious. River Deck stands out because of its great food, service, and drinks. It's also kid friendly and has a beautiful view! I knew I was coming to New Smyrna Beach for work. Well let me get this out of the way first. In this case the property owner is losing the property and it makes me sad to be part of the process, but it's just business. So before going I start to check out places to eat, and River Deck seems to be a stand out. I check reviews, and fellow Yelper Dave O gives a pretty good review, and I respect his reviews. I already know what I'm ordering so when my waitress shows up m ready. She seems like a lovely girl. I didn't get her name, but she is covered in tattoos. Not a judgement, just to distinguish her. I'm having the stuffed grouper. I love grouper, and with the stuffing of crab meat and shrimp, how can I go wrong. My meal shows up quickly and I'm happy because I'm in a hurry. Now the problem. I cut into the grouper. A minuscule amount of crab, and no shrimp at all. I dig a little hoping, but just a disappointment. My waitress is no where to be found so I eat it anyway. BTW, steamed veggies were very good, but I can't get over the lack of crab and no shrimp. Waitress finally shows up with the bill. I pay but mention the little bit of crab and no shrimp. Her answer: " Oh I'll definitely let the kitchen know about this". Does me a lot of good. Oh, almost forgot. Back to Valet Parking. I go to the designated spot to get my car. The gentleman retrieves my car and when getting out he uses his foot to push open the door leaving a large footprint scrape on the inside of the door. A place we have been to many times is slowly going downhill. When you can only say the drinks and valet parking are great, there is a big problem. Food from a tired menu is ok, not great. Music is so loud one has to yell to have a dinner conversation. And music played is not enjoyable dinner music. And the hostess with the color streaked hair enjoys her power plays. Such a fun little spot for a bite to eat after a lovely walk on the beach. We chose River Deck as they are a pet friendly establishment (even a little menu for the doggos which was cool!) We got sat outside rather quickly and didn't have to wait long for our food. The Mahi Mahi sandwich was great, and the cheeseburger was definitely filling enough. Cool island music vibes as we watched the boats ride on by. Attentive service through out. Definitely recommend a visit. I will deduct one star, not because of the restaurant/service, or staff, but because of the mandatory valet parking that made no sense to me. There wasn't anything getting in the way of me parking my own car, but I had to hand the keys over and then tip the parking staff as I left.
