The food tasted good, and the lamb was better than most lamb I've had out. I wish the guacamole and salsa had more flavor, and the chips could have been fresher. The serving size felt a bit small, but I typically have a big appetite. The server was super nice and really helpful, and the food came out quickly. One of my friends gave us a gift card to try Cafe Verde in New Smyrna Beach! It was recently remodeled! He loves this place and knew my husband and I love to try new places.. we are big fans now! The menu has variety that appeals the all of f us! You can't go wrong with any only the choices. We started out with the chips and salsa sampler and got some of their drinks! We had a pleasant meal at this place, which is tucked back behind a more popular Mexican restaurant on Flagler Avenue. We saw a small sign for it down the side street right behind Flagler, where our B&B was. Anyway, it has a very eclectic menu. A couple of us had different tacos, there was a seafood pasta dish which my wife loved and some sort of seared tuna dish, which all got eaten pretty quickly too. We ordered a mahi ceviche, which was delicious. Ceviche and a chips and salt platter. All came with rather thick very tasty corn chips, a little more substantive than the usual thin things you get at Mexican joints. They had a good selection of alcoholic drink drinks. But our table, we had some beer, some sangria, some mixture drinks, and all were great. Service was pretty good although they messed up one order, but they were very sweet to remove the cost of one of the apps to make up for that. We ate inside because it was less crowded than the outside area and we were with two toddlers who I hope were not too loud and boisterous to ruin the meals of nearby diners. I thought this place was very decent with reasonable prices considering it's right on the main Avenue. The menu has enough variety that anybody should be able to find something. My favorite spot on Flagler avenue! Cafe verde is great for groups with mixed dietary needs. They have tasty vegan options and basic options. I love to get the tofu bowl. It's tastes like chipotle but way better quality. The yucca fries and hummus are great dishes to share. The cocktails are so fresh and delicious! They recently did some remodeling and it looks so good! The new aesthetic is cozy and great for a date night. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Great for larger groups as well. The outdoor area is dog friendly which is awesome. There is parking behind the restaurant. Highly recommend this spot over any other restaurant on Flagler avenue. read more

We came here for the first time for dinner due to all the high ratings. I would give it a 3.5 if that was possible. Start off with the good. Loved the ambience , love the interesting menu the cocktails we had were creative and delicious! We started with the chips and salsa sampler. It was good, but I felt that the salsas and guacamole, really lacked flavor. Good portion though, and the chips were delicious. My husband had the Bibimbop and felt that the chicken was really dry and overcooked. I had the lemon tamarin mahi. I enjoyed the freshness of my dish however I do feel that it lacked flavor and taste. It was very boring and bland. We got a glimpse of some of the other entrées. The Carne Asada dish looked really good as did the tacos. So even though we didn't love our entrées, we would like to come back and try something different. read more

The second time eating at cafe verde was worse than the 1st .I ordered two chicken asado and one order of Brussel sprouts. my bill was 61.00 . my chicken was cold ,dried out, needed a chainsaw to cut it. While in NSB we went here for lunch. They recently remodeled, and did a good job. We sat outside. They have a cute shaded patio with plenty of seating. We shared the yucca fries, and I ordered the blackened mahi tacos as my entree. The tacos were tasty. They had a nice slice of mahi with cabbage and aioli. The yucca fries were also good and came with a mojo dipping sauce. They have a pretty big menu including tacos, gyros, bowls, etc. There's plenty to choose from. Our waitress was friendly, and our food came out pretty quickly. Overall, a great experience, and I'd definitely go back next time I'm in town. read more

Visiting friends in this area and needed a place that catered to our various food preferences. Cafe Verde had many options including vegetarian/vegan, with an array of international cuisines. I started with the red sangria which was delicious! Sometimes I find house made sangrias to be too sweet-like soda-mostly because sprite or tonic water is added-but not here. While it was slightly sweet, this did not overpower the taste of the wine and fresh juice. I would recommend it. I got the veggie gyro and it was delicious. The lettuce, tomatoes, avocado were fresh , and lightly tossed in a dressing. Then topped with tzatziki. It was a good size so I didn't order a side to go with it. Big mistake-Next time I will try something smaller so I can try a side. The restaurant is located on a cute little center street with cute shops and restaurants. I would rate a 3.5 but I can't do half stars on Yelp 4.0 outdoor atmosphere I enjoyed my time at Cafe Verde. My partner and I sat on the outdoor area for our meal. We ordered the traditional Ceviche for our apporter. It was good. There was a generous amount of Mahi pieces on the ceviche. I wish the portion was bigger for two people. The other obstacle was there were no small plates for us to scoop our ceviche. Trying to share it was a bit tricky but we got through it! For an entree I ordered the pork gyro. The sandwich tasted fresh but was lacking flavor. My partner ordered the Bibimbap. The portion was generous. The ingredients tasted fresh but lacked flavor like seasoning. Quick pick me up after the beach. Lots of vegetarian/vegan options. Happy hour too! (Covid-19 Note: There are seatings available inside and outside. I didn't notice a masks are required sign. All staff were wearing masks.) What did I get I was there for the happy hour and so I got the rice bowl with plantains and yuca fries. I wasn't too impressed with the yuca fries and the sauce that it came with. It was missing some flavor and I didn't like the sauce. I ended up dipping the yuca fries in the guac that came with the rice bowl. I like the servings size of the rice bowl, small enough that you won't get too full and can actually finish it. I like spicy and they only had hot sauce or fresh jalapeños. Overall it was decent. Environment Very close to the beach. There is a lot of parking right in front of the restaurant. There is a small amount of indoor seating and there is also outdoor seating. Niceness of the staff The staff that took my order was relatively nice. I sat outside and she made sure she was available when I needed her. I didn't like that I wasn't told that the jalapeños were going to be an extra charge... It would be great if it was mentioned to the customers prior to bringing it out. Dollar The happy hour menu was quite reasonable. The mini bowl was $7 (compared to there other bowl, that was around $10) The yuca fries were half off at $2 which had pretty decent amount. I came here with my mother for brunch this past Sunday and had another wonderful meal! This restaurant is set back from the main road, or in other words, behind Clancy's. It has a cool South American vibe and decor inside. In addition to inside seating, there is also an outside patio. On the day we came, there was a wonderful musician playing some tunes. As usual, the place was clean and tidy. The staff was quick to greet us and bring us to a table. In addition, they were very attentive to making sure we had our food and drinks in a timely manner. Overall, they did a wonderful job! The best part, hands down, is the food. My mother ordered the shrimp and avocado ceviche salad. It was AMAZZINNGG! It was covered in fresh, crisp shrimp and was the perfect balance between ingredients and dressing. Definitely the perfect meal for a hot day or if you are in the mood for a wonderful salad. I ordered the sweet and spicy hash that was on the brunch menu. All ingredients were cooked excellently and it had good flavor. This is an amazing restaurant in the New Smyrna area. They have some very good gluten free options. I had the main luncheon spicy curry and chicken dish and my wife had the chicken bowl. We also had the brussels sprouts and chips and salsa. Everything was fresh and abundant and it was an awesome value. Our server Gene was very friendly, accommodating and informative regarding the gluten free options. A really excellent restaurant in this area that we would recommend for anybody with allergies.
