Thousands of individuals have found help in our programs since 1986. We know that ultimately recovery is a personal choice, but we here at Social Model Recovery Systems are here to assist you in your steps to a healthier lifestyle. As everyone in our programs contributes to providing a safe and nurturing environment, each is expected to role model healthy behaviors for each other during the treatment process. In our social model settings, the emphasis on recovery is based on the relationship between the participant and his or her environment (including other participants and staff as a whole). It is the collective and integrated team of employees and participants more than one individual member which creates the ideal social model environment. It is the healing created by everyone’s accumulated knowledge, collective experiences, and cohesiveness that makes the social model process work. Although individual interactions between single staff and participants are supportive, it is the group interactions that prove to be of greater benefit.

This place is truly a community for those on the road to recovery, whether from substance abuse, mental health, or both. I am sincerely grateful for this community center that showed up for me during my lowest moments.

River Community, their craziness, ball dropping and lack of follow through created even more anxiety for our 37 year old son- he could not take it and this place ultimately drove him to escape, relapse and sent him to a 51:50 status-l, and to the hospital at Aurora hospital We are currently looking for another program My concern and complaint are as follows Still processing all... The River Community website reads totally different on and about services stated vs what was actually offered. We all knew our son is an alcoholic with mental issues. - this is why we sought a duel treatment Social model program River Community is not a social Model program as indicated. This program has no full time therapist or professional Psychiatrist We did not receive what we signed up for. Or agreed to. We advocated for a professional duel treatment program that would professionally diagnose our son, then test and prescribe the proper prescription to help our son , stabilize him emotionally, mentally and prayerfully keep urie from self medicating We did not receive this as promised and agreed. Instead, our son received no proper therapy, an extremely bias and subjective psychiatrist, who rarely met with him, but triggered our son to further create anxiety, frustration, anxiety, anguish, pain, suffering , confusion, retaliation, emotional and mental abuse The lack of follow through and down time from administration was horrible unacceptable This lack of professionalism increased our sons condition and literally drove him away to the point he was committed to a 51/50 psych ward at Aurora, where this " Dr G" continued to emotionally and mentally abuse, frustrate, torment and me how our son This Dr G was the worst psychiatrist ever. And his license should be revoked This entire experience was a tragic nightmare and psychological l, mental and rehab racket. With even further delays, no clear answers to our many questions and concerns , River community gave no professional follow through, help to resolve this debacle or honey care. They took the medical insurance money and said, " good luck!" River community left our son and family totally uninformed and with no answers on how our son was treated, resulting in further mental and emotional deterioration, anxiety filled and distraught- the horrible communication and false promised only abound by the day For the record, River Committed also lost our sons cell phone and important legal and personal mail The lack of communication gaps, more empty promises and ball dropping only. Continued... The public media, courts, Medi cal, all insurances, and propert authorities needed to know and will know about this public danger and gross service to those in need. Others must be warned. Not another victim in need, will be subjected to this gross and abusive debacle Be warned and run from this less than acceptable River community organization God bless you

Being my first time in treatment, I didn't know what to expect or what I had committed myself to but, Lighthouse was there for me every step of the way. From detox to completion of treatment, I received nothing but love, support and respect being as broken as I was. They treated me with compassion, understanding and operated within God's grace while taking care of me every step of the way. Through their help and programming, I was able to not just rehabilitate my health. They helped to rehabilitate my mind. They were able to do for me in 3 months what I was incapable of doing for myself. Because of Lighthouse, I have my life back. My marriage is back on track, my kids have their father back but most importantly I restored my relationship with God during my stay. I couldn't have done this without their help or support. I was failing on my own. Lighthouse made it so that I was able to focus on healing myself from the inside out. Thank you so much for church, gym, yoga, offsite meetings and all the extras like game night and movie night. It was the first time I had done (or was able to do) any of those things sober in YEARS. Thank you so much for the clinical groups, motivational speakers and panels. It opened my eyes to a difference in perspective and understanding when it came to addiction and how much people need to be loved. Truly humbling. A special thank you to Tyler and Teresa for doing such a great job at the facility. Between staff and taking a look around, it really does show how much they care about what they do. Thank you to everyone at intake, the front office and administration. With all your patience and calm demeanors, you make it look easy. Shout out to kitchen staff for all their hard work and making sure everyone there was always well fed (miss the food for sure). Taco Tuesdays were the best! Thank you to the nurses and doctors. You always made sure we had what we needed when we needed it. When it comes to staff, it's extremely difficult for me to pick favorites. They are ALL great. It's apparent that going above and beyond is their standard mode of operation. With that being said... Special thanks to: *Candice. The most bad a$$, straight forward, sweetest person I've ever met. Thank you for your honesty, positivity, caring and being straightforward about everything. *Edmund. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge and wisdom when it came to the reality of dealing with real life circumstances. *Mike! FAFO, don't be late! Thank you for the discipline you incorporated into the program and showing how much you cared that we all succeeded. *Austin. Thank you for being so down to earth and taking the awkwardness out of being honest about addiction. I'll never forget the game "In My Addiction." It shined new light on how I wasn't alone in the struggle and helped me to be more open about myself. *Alfonso. Thank you so much for having those real, heart to heart conversations with myself and the group, sharing how the dynamics of our behavior shapes our habits which influences our lives (no loitering!). *Joey. Thank you for all your encouraging, compassionate declamations amongst the groups showing kindness is alive and well. *Rob. Thank you for your constant, positively radiant attitude and the diligence you incorporate into all you do. *Kaylee. Honestly, thanks for being awesome with everything and everyone. *Liz. Sooooo good. Thank you for educating me on my blood pressure and the importance of the numbers and what they signify. Your energy was always fun to be around. *Ronnie. Thank you for always trying to help a brotha' out. *Timmy. Thank you for your patience with me while making sure I was taken care of in detox. *Paddy. Thank you so much for your sweet, caring demeanor and the encouragement you gave me in detox. Lighthouse was truly my home away from home. Their hearts are in everything they do. Thank you tremendously for everything. Keep up the great the work and God bless you. -Samuel Sa
