Single scoop is $2.45. Strawberry ice cream is refreshing and tastes like real fruit. Chocolate Malt Krunch has rice crisps and has a deep chocolate flavor. I went in and found the covid test kits and when I went to the counter and asked if they were free, I was told they cost $24 each. I told them that the sign out front said that the covid tests were free and they said that the pharmacy has the free covid test kits. So I went the pharmacy, stood in line, and was told that they were out of the free covid test kits. I told them that the sign out front said "No cost COVID-19 tests" were available at the store and that they should take down the sign. I love this store!! It carries CPAP supplies to my delight! I stopped at three different drugstores with no luck.

Who doesn't love their thrifty ice cream! You can never go wrong. (Except the one time we went and said they weren't serving ice cream.)The cost of the ice cream scoops are so much cheaper than going to a Baskin Robins. Unless you're looking for something fancy this place isn't for you. They don't serve the fancy milkshakes or fun sauces. But they do have a variety of flavors that you can try. The awesome part is you can also go towards the back of the freezer and purchase a container of your favorite flavor. Mine of course is the black cherry! The store itself is always clean. Never see any clutter. Which is really nice. They also have customer restrooms which is convenient. It's located at a busy plaza so there are times where parking can be tricky. I recently started getting my prescriptions here at the pharmacy. I love that the employees are very helpful. They helped me look for no alcohol products for my cold since I am nursing. I love that they are willing to help you rather than "it's my job" to help you attitude. So far I've been really happy with their help. I think it's cool that they need a sign off with the pharmacist before they can give you your prescription to make sure you understand your prescription and to address any questions or concerns. I'm very happy with our Rite Aid! Only thing is the employees of rite aid itself can be a little nicer and smile more! Alas Rite Aid stores carry Thrifty Ice Cream. As with some reviews of Rite Aid my review is about the ice cream only. There's something iconic about iconic about Thrifty Ice Cream. The cylinder shape scoop was a "match made in heaven" with the flavors of the cream as the unique scoop and flavor are a playful combination. I always enjoyed Thrifty Ice Cream over Baskin Robbins Ice Cream because Baskin Robbins Ice Cream were too sweet. In addition I always felt the ingredients of Thirfty Ice Cream were fresher than Baskin Robbins Ice Cream. Even though I can buy a carton of Thirfty Ice Cream at Rite Aid to take home the experience of eating Thrifty Ice Cream isn't the same. You have to eat Thirfty Ice Cream at a place where you can see the cylinder shape scoop. That place so far is Rite Aid. This ride aid is pretty well located in the midst of a shopping center. That being said, the parking lot can get pretty crazy and the drivers are reckless. The store itself is always clean and nicely stocked. They have a great assortment of items available from makeup to medicine and groceries. Make sure to sign up for a loyalty card because you get all the best sales and cheapest prices available that are on the yellow flags under the original price. The line is never long, it's more of a quick stop kind of situation. The cashiers are pretty friendly and get you out quickly. If you're in need of getting some household items, need to pick up a prescription, or are in the mood for a scoop of ice cream, this is the place for you. The only area of improvement I would mention to management is having a better line system at check out. If you are going to get the booster shot, you have to go to "the drop off counter" which is hidden behind the pharmacy pick up counter. You have to do off your vaccination card and insurance card and ID here so you will be placed in line and your name will be called out while you wait at the waiting chairs. No where is it clear so I just filled out my forms online and ended up waiting a very long time even though I arrived on time. This Rite Aid is our local pharmacy. So slow!!! They always seem to have only 1 person working for pickups, even during busy hours, and nobody ever seems to be in a hurry to help customers and move the line along. Every once in a while, the service is friendly and faster but that is rare. As far as the rest of the store (non-pharmacy), most of the employees are not very helpful. There is one employee that I can think of who is friendly and seems to really try hard but she is really the only one. The best thing about this store is that they now have self-checkout so you don't have to depend on the employees who, for the most part, are not in it to provide a good customer service experience. I am writing this email for two reasons. The first reason reason, I called Rite aid this morning to discuss a serious problem regarding one of the store's products and asked to speak with the manager. The woman who answered was actually really nice and put me on hold, stating that the manager was not there but that the supervisor was there. I was put on hold for a moment and a different woman answered the phone and I asked if she was the supervisor on duty and she replied with "no". I informed the woman that I needed to speak with the supervisor and the woman stated that the supervisor was on lunch. I stated that I needed to speak with the supervisor and would call back and before I could say anything else, the woman hung up on me. Really rude! The second reason I'm writing this is due to the reason why I needed to speak with management. I purchased a dog treat at Rite Aid on August 8th, 2018. The dog treat was "Purina" all natural Jerky Strips. After purchasing the dog treat, I realized that my dog was not digesting the treat properly. I noticed that her stool was the same consistency of the dog treat which was extremely rubbery. After a couple of days, my dog began to vomit white foam. I didnt think anything of it until two more days passed and she began vomiting mucus, white foam and blood. I took her to the emergency room and determined that the dog treat was causing issues with my dog's intestines. After nine long hours in the pet emergency room, I contacted the Purina corporate office and discussed this matter and I was informed that the dog treat was discontinued on January 1st, 2018 and was supposed to be pulled off from the shelf. The Purina representative also stated that Rite aid was NOT suppose to sell the treat and that they would have consumer affairs and the health and safety department contact Rite aid to discuss this matter further. There was more that I found out, but, that is the main point of what's going on. For any PET PARENTS, please DO NOT purchase any kind of pet food or pet treats from this store due to the products being extremely old and/or discontinued. If you love your animals like I love my fur baby, please, do NOT purchase anything pet food related. And the product to stay away from which could block your pets intestines is called "Purina" All Natural Grain Free Jerky Strips. I will post a picture for pet parents to prevent purchasing this items and if you see this item in any store please contact Purina and let them know that the store is selling discontinued and harmful items. Lastly, the woman who answered the phone the second time, will be hearing from me tomorrow morning when I speak with the manager. A employee who does not know what is going on should never hang up the phone on a customer which is why I will be taking further action overall. read more

This Rite Aid is located inside the Alvarado Plaza Shopping Center next door to Seafood City Supermarket. Let me start off by saying, finding a space to park here is like finding a spot at Costco!!! This is a decent sized parking lot, but it is sooo busy with Seafood City and sooo many other stores & restaurants nearby!!! This Rite is decent in size and it carries all your typical products you'd expect to see at your local Rite Aid. We went here to purchase hair coloring and it was on sale but they didn't have our color, so we asked someone up front for some assistance to see if they had the specific hair color we wanted. We waited like 10 minutes before someone came to help us, but sadly they didn't have the color we wanted. However, the lady did offer us a "Rain Check", so we'd still be able to get it for the sale price upon our next return to the store which was nice. Upon return, they did have the color we wanted in stock and yup we got it for what it was advertised! They also have Shopping Carts for customers to use and they do allow you to take them out of the store to your car, unlike the Rite Aid on Decoto. They also have hand baskets for you to use while shopping inside the store. Service here seems to much better than the Rite Aid on Decoto, because the lines here are never long compared to the one on Decoto. The employees here take a while sometimes too but still the lines are never long compared to the one on Decoto. Overall, 4 stars. read more

This review is mostly for their Thrifty's ice cream counter. The best ice cream you can buy for under $2 a scoop! I usually get their chocolate malt crunch, but today I got their pistachio. It was really good and not too sweet. I personally don't like how much pistachio nuts are actually in it, but the ice cream itself is good. My regular, chocolate malt crunch, is the best. Chocolate ice cream with chocolate covered crispies. Delicious! And it's only $1.79 a scoop. It's a really good deal. And their scoops are a really good size. My go to spot when I'm just craving some ice cream. I will also add that they just reminded this rite aid and it looks so much better. It's really easy to find things at this store b/c they put up these giant signs. read more

Years back, this Thrifty Drugs location name changed to RITE AID Pharmacy, then later renovated the entire store. Although, the size of the store remained the same, the use of space and area was modified. The rows of shelves displaying the products are now horizontal (not vertical) to the front entrance door way. Customers can now view each row as they walk down an aisle from the front of store to the back. As each row of shelves is numbered & labeled into sections on either side, identifying or finding a particular product, such as in houseware, hardware, electrical, office/school, pet supplies, or in refrigerated beverages, is much easier. Only the cosmetics and pharmacy section still maintain its previous location and design. Aside from the expanded product line to select from, there are some nice touches to the store: 1) The photo dept. issues digital passport photos, and if one does not like after viewing the picture, staff allows you to request a second photo. 2) The store carries small batteries in electrical, not only C, D, 9V, double (triple) A size, but also harder to find batteries for camera and security devices. 3) The store opens longer hours, from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm in evening, 7 days a week even on many holidays (with the pharmacy hours less). The staff is large enough to have staggered hours/shifts. 4) The customer Wellness card which upon display or access, gives immediate discounts on many items to be purchased at the cashier. Points (called Plenti) can be accumulated for future allowances also. 5) The store retained the ice cream cone station, and although the $price$ per scoop has increased over time, the cones are fun for the kids and satisfying for adults on a hot day. Also the ice cream is from the awarded, flavorful Thrifty brand, which is also sold separately in the refrigerated section. Rite Aid carries products with their own name logo, but also carries name brands, which allows customers to buy products that 'will do or carry over', til they have time to visit the longer lines at other stocked grocery chains. This Rite Aid is closest to my house so i can walk there anytime for an ice cream, plus you can still get a waffle cone here, whereas you cannot get a waffle cone at the Rite Aid store across town (in Decoto). Prices went up by more than a dollar since a year ago, but just use your Rite Aid "Wellness Card" when you buy and ice cream and you get a nice discount. My wife and I have gone to this Rite Aid a few times, and this review mainly pertains to our experience last night. My wife bought a bottle of champagne, and I picked up a bottle of Martinelli's Sparkling Cider (we spent the prime hours of Halloween cleaning up the townhouse we just moved out of- we toasted with the items I just mentioned once we got to our house). The champagne was on sale for $6.99. It's normally $8.99. Including the CRV charge, the Cider was $3.09 (this is about what it sells for at other stores). A small roll of 3M Magic Tape (Scotch Tape sounds better- it's not like the tape performs any tricks) was $2.29. Our cashier could have been more friendly. The other line was about 4 deep, and so he announced that his register was open. He sounded dull and listless, though (he certainly wasn't waiting with bated breath for any customers to arrive). I was in a hurry, and so I almost tripped over my wife while heading over. I wasn't pleased that it took so long to ring up 3 items, and the guy almost overcharged us by $5 (he initially rang up the champagne at $6.99 and $8.99, and then added the tax- the other items weren't scanned at first). He quickly corrected things, but I still left shaking my head. Thrifty Ice Cream has been popular for decades (it's mentioned by 3 of the other reviewers right away). A scoop is $1.29 now, but expect to pay about $2 for a scoop at Baskin-Robbins or Cold Stone Creamery (the ice cream at Fentons is pricy too). There's a great selection of drinks here and office supplies. There's a fair selection of snacks and most everything else. The prices here are just average. Go to the other stores nearby (Lucky, FoodMaxx, Walmart) if you want to do some more serious shopping and save some more money. In general, the cashiers here are adequate, but not great. According to Miss V., the pharmacists here have bad attitudes. The parking lot is a pain in the ass to deal with. Be more watchful than normal of other vehicles and people walking by (the shopping center is often quite busy). This Rite Aid isn't spectacular, but it's nice to go here every now and then. read more

My family and I have been here a couple of times and this Rite-Aid isn't as bad as any other one. First of all, they actually have employees working here, which is good. And secondly, I can always find the things I want. This place is always in good shape and never really messy. It's also not a bad location either. Now to their ice cream. I usually avoid posting harsh reviews but I really have to speak my mind. I've been going to this Rite Aid since I was a teenager, everyone is usually friendly until I came here yesterday. I was doing my regular errands and of course getting Thrifty's ice cream, I was walking towards the ice cream section with my items till a man with long hair approached me, he was working the register that night. I thought he was going to ask if I was doing alright, but he rudely asked if I was "going to buy that" and pointed at my items. He thought I was going to walk out of the store, I pointed at the ice cream and I said "Am I allowed to browse for ice cream?" And he quickly apologized. I'm a customer service manager, I would NEVER speak to my customers that way. I literally live across the street, so I changed my pharmacy thinking it would be more efficient and effective. I have been multiple times in the last few months to pick up my prescriptions and they are never ready. I spoke with the pharmacist Irene a couple of hours before I decided to show up because I didn't want to have to wait. She told me it would be ready soon. I waited 2.5 hours before I came and the prescription still wasn't ready. It's very unprofessional and an inconvenience on my time. They need to hire more staff or do their job. read more
