THANK YOU Rite Aid Pharmacy My 8 YO daughter has never reacted well to Amoxicillin. After a weekend of high fevers I sent my child and husband to the pediatrician this morning. Even after 4 years of requesting Azithromycin AND a note with my husband, the pediatrian still prescribed Amoxicillin. I did not discover this until I finished work - when the pediatrician's office was closed. I had no way of contacting them tonight. However, after explaining the situation to Rita at the Rite Aid Pharmacy, she went well out of her way to help us! Rita immediately contacted our pediatrican on his cell phone, filled a new prescription and made a note in the computer system to prevent this from happening again. THANK YOU THANK YOU. My daughter has a horrible case of strep throat and not being able to keep down the Amoxicillin, we would have suffered another night and morning of misery. Thanks to Rita we are now on the mend. She brought a feeling, emothion of how things should be, where folks such as your pharmacist watched out for you, cared for you and your familiy. First of all, this store stinks. LITERALLY. It smells like raw sewage most of the time. It's horrible. Most of the time they are understaffed and the staff they have are clearly miserable and are incredibly inconvenienced if you have a question. The pharmacy is a whole new level of problems. Every time I try to refill my prescriptions it's a huge ordeal because I do not have insurance and pay out of pocket-WHICH I AM FINE WITH and have reiterated this to them multiple times. It's extremely frustrating to have to wait for my medication because they think they are helping. read more

You want a business idea that will be successful? Open a pharmacy in Linda Mar to compete with Rite Aid. I dread when I need to get a perscription filled and I inevitably go to Rite Aid in Linda Mar. It is almost always a mistake. The service sucks and I am the fool who keeps going back for more punishment. I have stood by the drop-off window to drop off my scrip for over 10 minutes while the person at the pick-up window keeps helping newcomers with their pick-ups, completely ignoring me. Finally one of the technicians came over, said it would be ready in 45 minutes and asked for my phone number and DOB. I came back to pick it up and was told they had to order the medicine. How hard would it have been for them to give me a call and let me know? Aargh. I just worked up just thinking about it. read more

Two reviews here: The store itself gets four stars for being a good general drug store open "late" for the area. Great selection on ladies' items, especially hair dye. The pharmacy is absolutely awful and deserving of 0 stars. They are intrusive, in your business, judgmental, and just plain creepy. Also, they will do things without telling you. . . or not do things without telling you. Also, there is no way to resolve situations since they don't seem to have shift managers. I have endured mediocre-to-poor service at this store for DECADES, without complaint. But no longer. Today was a reasonably typical example: I call at 5:30 to see if my Rx is ready; I am put on hold for 7 minutes. Not wanting to miss the 6pm pharmacy closing time, I give up on the phone, jump in my car, and drive down there -- through rush-hour traffic -- to wait in line for a few minutes, only to be told that they don't have the meds in stock and they'll be in tomorrow after 1pm. I dropped the Rx off last THURSDAY, for god's sake, they couldn't have called?!! Then there was the really egregious time a few years back, when I had to pick up a very expensive Rx. At the front cashier, the clerk shrieked, at full volume, "Oh, my god -- what is THIS for???!!" I was appalled at the complete lack of diplomacy and discretion. If it weren't for our godforsaken health care system and my insurance no longer being accepted at Walgreen's, I would not set foot in this store again. Ever. Of course there are perfectly nice and capable people who work here. Unfortunately, they are not in positions of authority or the situation would be otherwise. Twice, now, we've received an incorrect prescription from the pharmacy here. The most recent time I was prescribed 25mcg pills and received 125mcg pills. They refunded my $10 and apologized, but I'd already taken one and my doctor and I had major concerns about the potential repercussions on my heath. I'd recommend double-checking your existing prescriptions from this Rite Aid, and switching to a different pharmacy. read more

I went to this Rite Aid like I've done before to fill my prescription as I always get from my doctor. I usually fill it a few days before my last dose but this time around, I just got back from Europe for work and literally took my last dose that afternoon. So naturally, I got the prescription that my doc wrote for me a few weeks ago to go fill it. When I got there, I was told that I couldn't fill it because although it said how many times to take it a day, it didn't say how many units of the med to take each time. I told the pharmacist I've taken my meds for about 2 years now. I take ONE each time, four times a day. It even says on the bottle that Rite Aid gave me last time! But it doesn't matter. It had to be written on the prescription or else he would "lose his license". I told him to call the doc to confirm but unfortunately he was on vacation and will be all week next week. The pharmacist said there's "nothing he can do" because he has a "strict" manager. I told him to look it up in his system, look at my previous bottle, all the paperwork I had. Nothing worked. He told me the only thing I can do it to "try the other Rite Aid. Maybe they won't notice it." Yesterday was my birthday so not only was this frustrating but I had to spend the evening extremely uncomfortable. I understand you were doing your job but your answer was everywhere (in the computer, on the bottle, etc.) but not on the prescription. Thanks for a memorable birthday, Rite Aid. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! There are other pharmacies in the area. Your Rx will NEVER be ready or even complete on time..never!! And the pharmacy staff - don't get me started! While I have never had a RX of mine filled there - thank goodness - I have spent countless hours dealing with their incompetence on behalf of my husband and others. But no more - today was the final nail in their coffin - and I will NEVER step another toe in the place. If this was a privately owned pharmacy, they would have been out of business years ago - but I guess the chain can afford to provide lousy service and lose customers even in these questionable economic times. And today they lost not only my husband but all those whose healthcare I manage -I didn't bother transferring to another store - I moved everyone out Rite Aid altogether - and we'll all be happier for it! read more

This Rite Aid store lost months of my photos! The store was remodeled, and then they lost them. The developer back East evidently developed the film and then sent them back to the Linda Mar store. We spoke to the supervisor twice. Both times he said he would return our phone calls. He never did. So much for my memories! We are boycotting the store (we were good and frequent customers). They are always professional and friendly and since I happen to be a frequent flyer, know me by name and have my prescription ready by the time I get to the counter. Recently, I needed a consultation on two medications and David was very thorough in explaining how to take them and possible side effects. Rite Aid Pharmacy in Linda Mar is the worst - always late with prescriptions, always long lines, always slow service, and god forbid your insurance information changes! I've been shorted on medication, not had prescriptions refilled, not had doctor's offices phoned for refills, not had the insurance charged... should I go on? I've stood in line there and discussed with other customers how much they suck. Why hasn't anyone opened a competing business? They would instantly make a fortune - my loyalty would go to them 100% just for not being Rite Aid. read more

The only cashier was stamping pricing labels on products. Without looking up she said go to the first register. No one was there, so we waited for her to finish her project and then come to the register. It seems very simple to improve the customer service, at least at the check-out. read more

I don't understand all these poor reviews. I go to Rite Aid in Linda Mar for all of my prescriptions, and the most it's ever taken me is 15 minutes, and that was because there was a long line. We did a purchase this Monday. Yesterday (Thursday) we returned the item. Unfortunately we could not find the receipt. But we have returned items before without receipt because we used our debitcard. The manager would not reimburse our debit card but rather gave us a $17. Rite Aid card for a $37 item. On top of that they wanted to see my husband's driver license and the ATM card. Very disappointed with this store. Walgreens isn't far and much cleaner. read more

I feel sorry for the one manager dude (70's hair looks like he was in the band the Eagles).. there's always a long line, and the cashiers seem miserable or panicky. On the upside I think they are open till ten. I never had to deal with the pharmacy other than to ask a question about where something was, and yeah they were a little snotty. The old philippino dude always seems nice and has a good attitude and doesn't seem ready to freak out and always seems willing to come to the counter to be back up instead of plod slowly away like the huge line doesn't exist. The young chunky dude is also sweet and doesn't have that deadpan bland 'this sucks' look. This place has always seemed a little like it doesn't have it's act totally together, but believe it or not , it has had worse incarnations before this when it was thrifty and then something else I think before it turned into rite aid. read more

Sometimes you have to wait in line for a while to get your perscription, but i fill my perscription once a month and haven't had a real issue in the 3 years i've been going here. This review is for the pharmacy. I have NEVER experienced a pharmacy that takes an average of 3-4 hours to fill a phoned in prescription EVER! And mind you, these prescriptions are for my dog. No insurance to check and nothing to verify! And this isn't the first time. I've been using this pharmacy for 2 years and prescriptions are slow to fill, not always run through insurance and the staff is often begrudging with their assistance. This is the closest location to my house and it is really unfortunate that they are so slow, unapologetic, and act as if the customer is a tremendous pain in the ass for mentioning any inconvenience. I will be changing pharmacies to the Walgreens in the Manor district. I am disgruntled and sincerely disappointed by the service I have received here. This review is strictly for the pharmacy and only for the pharmacist, Steven Li. The pharm techs are a perfect 10, which brings this guys score to a negative 9. From a professional point of view I hate HATE that he demands that the techs address him as "Mr. LI". I work with PhD pharms with full proffessorships and they would quickly tell you to call them by their first name if you called them Doctor! (mr Li has no PhD). I have spoken to several primary providers and specialists who have had negative encounters with him, after discussing my own personal ones. He is condescending, rude and short with PATIENTS. Not willing to look a little further into the records, I have found that he'll just make things up. "oh we've called you're doctor about thus already'. No you haven't. I'm calling to you I'm using a different doctor now and send all future faxes here..." He will make a person in pain wait one hour to count 20 tablets. Walgreens in the heart of the Tenderloin? Bob will see you need them now and they're ready in 10 minutes. The next step is to speak to management. I know they have lost customers because of STEVEN and people don't just buy meds whole they're there. The staff isn't happy either..... read more

I could say that I have "never" had a prescription at this store fully filled in the time it was promised, but over the years, probably a couple of times it was ready, and I was surprised. I had some dental surgery a couple of days a go, and was told I would need a couple of prescriptions filled to take after--antibiotics, anti-imflammatory, pain. I knew I wouldn't feel well after the surgery, and wasn't up to driving to the pharmacy I like to use, so I asked the dentist to call it into to Linda Mar Rite Aid. But, I told the gal, they never have them ready. I heard her list the presciptions, give the estimated time I would be by to pick them up, and ask them to confirm the meds would be available. After the call, the dentist's assistant told me they had confirmed. Well, my surgery went 2-1/2 hours, not the hour and a half they thought. I was anxious to get home. I went to Rite Aid, and picked up what they had set aside for me. When I got home, my husband said that the pharmacy had called about two hours prior. I figured they were telling me my meds were ready. I had a real difficult evening and night. My mouth hurt, and I couldn't sleep. In the morning, I called the dentist to ask for something to deal with the pain in addition to what I had been given. Another prescription was called in. I went to pick it up, and guess what? One of my prescriptions hadn't been ready the day before! No one told me I was leaving with a partial supply. Besides that, the medicine I didn't have was the one that dealt with reducing inflammation. Might that have had something to do with the fact that I was in pain the previous afternoon and evening? Well, considering that once I began taking this prescription I had no more pain, I think so. Now, I will acknowledge that the pharmacy did call. My husband said I was still at the dentist. If they were calling to say they didn't have the medicine, rather than to tell me my medicines were ready, as I supposed, doesn't it make sense they would call the dentist to see if there was a substitution they could prepare for me? If you need a prescription filled in a few days, this is an acceptable place to go. If it is something you need immediately, you risk not getting it in the promised time. The folks behind the counter are nice, but I wonder how they would like going without pain meds after having surgery of any kind... Especially, after the prescription had been called in, and they had been specifically asked if it would be ready and confirmed that it would be. Unfortunately, you probably won't check the reviews until you, too, are frustrated with them. To my knowledge, there isn't another option in this part of town. read more

We had a very elderly relative arrive from Florida without her meds. She didn't tell us about the problem until Thanksgiving day. The pharmacy at this Rite-Aid called us to confirm that the doctor had phoned in the prescriptions and then called us again to let us know that the medicines were ready. this pharmacy is just awful! i endured it for the past 3 years, and finally gave up! i have health issues which require my getting about 7 prescriptions per month. i chose this store because it is closer to my home than the Walgreen's is on palmetto. i was a bit disillusioned that their on line system is useless (compared to Walgreen's), but figured that would not matter. over the course of the 3 years there were several times when they screwed things up; i would get a call from their machine that my prescriptions were ready only to go in and find out not all of them were; after a few months i signed up for their automatic refill service, which also turned out to be a crock; often times, when it was time for something to be refilled when i would call a few days after they were due (which meant right before i would run out of it), i would be told they needed to fax the doctor - what is the point of automatic if they can't take care of it and have it ready somewhere near the due date? never had this problem with Walgreen's, and Walgreen's sends you an email when you place an order (whether on line, in person or over the phone) and an email when it is ready! the people in this pharmacy were usually nice enough, but none of them ever did ANYTHING to fix the ongoing problems that i had; the medicine's that i take cost about $50,000 a year in total so my business should have meant something to them - and guess what - it turns out it did! when i finally decided that i could not handle it anymore, and transferred all of my prescriptions in Nov. to Walgreen's, i got a call from rite aid - low and behold - asking me didn't i want to keep my prescriptions there - no way! i only hope that Walgreen's eventually buys this store so that the pharmacy can be more modern and hopefully better and then i will try it again, for now - hasta-la-vista-good riddance-goodbye! read more
