Three words. Thrifty Ice Cream. This Rite Aid has it and it is glorious! This review is strictly for my ice cream buying experience. We came here after checking out the sunset at Pacifica State Beach. A lovely gentleman rang us up quickly and got me a scoop of the mint chocolate chip. I grew up eating Rite Aid ice cream. It is super nostalgic for me and it was just as good as I remembered. Perfect thing to have while enjoying the sunset or on a sunny day at the beach. They also sell quarts of the Thrifty ice cream to go. Don't sleep on the chocolate malted crunch flavor! read more

If I could I would rather give no star to this location. Came here on two occasions and left disappointed. I came here last Sunday, 7/14 and today 7/21 to order a triple dip ice cream and both occasions with the same cashier implying lack of staffing at this location so we couldn't serve you ice cream. Last weekend, the young male with glasses stated they were lack of staff, the ice cream station will not be operate during at this time. Today with the same cashier and one other staff sitting down at the cashier area and gave us the same explanation that they were lacking of staff and couldn't operate the ice cream station. Funny part was they weren't helping any customers and just sitting/ standing at the cashier station. What so hard to just walk to the ice cream station and scoop up the ice cream. Guess we won't be coming back to this location. We went to another location and they had only one cashier and she went and took our order and ring us up. read more

Rite Aid absolutely cannot be trusted to fulfill your prescriptions in a normal amount of time or without a lot of extra inconvenience. I've been using this Rite Aid as my primary pharmacy for 10 years but have now switched to the Walgreens on the other side of town because we've had issues with literally EVERY recent prescription. How do they f*k up? Let me count the ways: - Not filling prescriptions until several days after they've been sent in, and only after you call them to check. This happened to ALL FOUR of our last four prescriptions, so this is like the norm rather than exception. - My doctor sent in a prescription for a 10 day course of antibiotics in the morning. I got my prescription five hours after that (and only after calling to remind them) only to be given a bottle with just *THREE* pills--1 day's worth of antibiotics. I got the rest of my prescription the next day, after another reminder call, just barely in time to not skip a dose. - My husband got a prescription 3 days ago. Rite Aid called the same day and said they had to order it. Yesterday evening my husband called to see if it was ready and couldn't connect with a real person for 20 minutes. At one point someone picked up the phone without answering and just left it there, as he could hear people talking and phones ringing in the background. Finally he called again this morning, and turns out they never ordered it. read more

I'd probably give them a three if they would pick up the phone ever. They should just say that they don't accept phone calls rather than continuing to pretend that you can reach anyone by phone at this pharmacy. The people behind the counter are not to blame for this, it's the corporate-dictated short staffing. But the effect is the same. Avoid this pharmacy. I have to use this one for a particular medication, and otherwise use independent local pharmacies. If you have the option, you should do the same. EDITED TO ADD: RIte Aid responded by asking for more feedback. What part of this do you think was confusing to them? I spent 30 minutes in line the other day to do something that could and should have been done by phone, if this pharmacy were adequately staffed. read more

This pharmacy sucks slightly less than the other pharmacy in town. They automatically signed me up for refills I didn't want -- but can't manage to refill the prescription I actually ordered and need. I wasted my time going down there. No clue when my medication will arrive. No follow-through. Nothing. read more

The cashiers at the front of the store are very nice, but the pharmacy staff is often less than kind. At my last visit, I asked a question and the pharmacist was very rude for no reason. This was not at a busy time either. As someone who also works with the public, being personable and kind is so important. The way you behave reflects the company you work for. read more

The store is fine and the cashiers are always friendly, but the pharmacists are less than friendly, especially one of the females. I came in thinking I had scheduled my flu vaccine for that day. When it turned out that I had actually scheduled it a few weeks out, the pharmacist scoffed at me trying to make me feel stupid. Then, when I asked if I could just get it anyways, since the website says "walk-ins are welcome". She said "no, we don't accommodate that", and walked away. She was very rude. She didn't use any kindness when interacting with me. Maybe she should be kept in the back counting pills, rather than interacting with the public. read more

Rudest pharmacy staff anywhere. I wanted to get a prescriptions transferred as I am out of diabetic and hypertension meds. I never expected her response. She didn't want to do it said it's too much trouble it takes weeks to do I would be out of meds. Since I have 3 months left on my meds my doc won't renew another prescription so Unless I pay a 300 office visit I don't get them. Then I asked her to check on status of covid boosters because 2 weeks ago my husband and I made appts online never heard back. She would not do it. I have had no problems. Sometimes the pharmacy gets busy and is closed for a break mid afternoon. The staff is polite and friendly.

Two days in a row in the service been very slow to poor. The prescription was called in, but it was not filled until I came to the pick up window on the first day. On the second day, I tried calling and allowing three hours ahead for them to fill and I was on hold for an hour, and at the end, I was hung up, and when I came to the pick up window, it hasn't even started. I think they need to reevaluate their incoming call line and fill process. read more

DO NOT GET YOUR RXS HERE. This has to be the worst pharmacy on earth. These people have no empathy for folks with chronic issues. I am traumatized every time I have to get an RX filled, they have been terrible since I can remember. They have been out of my medication for over a month and are so bad on the phone about it. They have no idea when it will be available! I called to double check they didn't have a generic version and some lady in the pharmacy confidently said it would be available tomorrow only to deny it seconds later after I told her I called earlier and the pharmacy said it wouldn't be available for an unspecified amount of time. I called CVS with my issue and they not only have my medication in stock, they were understanding and helped refer me to the locations with ample stock. I'm beyond done with Rite Aid. read more

Wow! I want to say how amazed and grateful I am for the help of Parmesh in the pharmacy. I am here in Pacifica from out of the area. I needed a prescription desperately. My insurance company was less than helpful. Parmesh worked with me all day over multiple phone calls to get me the medication I needed. I am so grateful for her persistence from start to finish, including helping me find the most affordable way to. get what I needed. When you call any Riteaid you get a message from the chairman of Riteaid explaining how they are trying to maintain their high level service during Covid. This pharmacy is in decline. Two of the last three prescriptions, they gave me a bottle of 30 when the prescription said 90. The first time, I tried to refill and was denied because it was too early. I put up a fuss, they counted their stock, and indeed they were 60 over. They gave me the rest. Tonight was the second time, exact same prescription, exact same problem. They gave me a bottle of 30, while the sticker on the bottle containing the doctor's prescription info clearly said 90. This time I checked at the counter and they corrected it on the spot. Twice with me means it's surely happening to others. I'm sure some pharmacist will read this and want to tell me how impossible this is due to all the controls etc... etc... But yes, it happened, and those controls must be laughably poor. read more

ugh!!!! yuck!!!! not helpful at ALL! First of all The pharmacist completely ignored me. Didn't even acknowledge my existence. I had to knock on the window and still continued to ignore me. So annoying and RUDE! Three of their staff members were in the front talking, when asking a question about a product they gave vague verbal directions, and instead of walking me towards the product (No one was in the store) only to find nothing similar to the product I wanted. You can tell its mediocre check in-check out type of job for them. Save a negative experience and go to Safeway. There is better customer service and you can avoid the dismissal of your needs. read more

A few years ago we transferred our family prescriptions from Walgreens to this Rite Aid as the Pacifica Walgreens just seemed out of control: long waits, relatively rude customer service, etc. We we extremely happy with Rite Aid until the last year or so. Some of their staff are still great and will go above and beyond to help. My main complaint is their "automated" refill system. It used to be that the system would try to be a little too eager in getting you your monthly medication, every month getting it to you a day or two earlier than the last month. Now you just hope you get it within a week of it being due. I'll call when it's been a month or more and am told that it has been ordered but hasn't come in. When I ask about it being on a reorder system I'm told that all they can do is order it but they can't control whether or not it comes in; that shows really empathy for the customer. Once recently they were about a week late getting in one medication. What's the point of an automated system if they can't figure out they need to order some medications further out than others? Again, this wasn't a problem until this year. UPDATE Today I went in to pick up the drug that was late being filled. Evidently the pharmacy was short staffed but you'd think they'd have a back up plan, right? The person at the pickup window would wait on a customer, tell the next customer in line, "I'll be back in just a minute" and then leave for between five and ten minutes. Yep, that's right, five and ten minutes. When it was my turn and she told me she'd be right back I started my stopwatch, it was right at a nine minute wait. I know that she was in the back prepping prescriptions for the pharmacist to fill but seriously? I was the third person in line when I got there and it was 15 minutes before I was waited on. When I left there were 15 or so people in line. Good luck with that! Just changed the rating from 2 stars to 1. A well run pharmacy would have a backup plan. Don't misunderstand, the two people who were there were working hard, there just weren't enough people working there. read more

I stopped into the store for one of those tiny tubes of toothpaste. It felt like a regular ol' Rite Aid - the ones I've been to all have similar products and similar store layouts. It's never been my favorite store to shop at, but eh, it fills a niche, you know? I had no issue finding what I needed, but I found checking out to be a frustrating experience. As I approached the counter, the cashier was holding a conversation with another employee. I expected her to divert her attention to the customer at this point, but no, she just went on with her conversation which seemed to distract her a little bit from scanning my item and running my card; I felt it took longer than it should have. My daughter and I have had terrible coughs and congestion for weeks. Saw a Dr. This afternoon and they sent in a few prescriptions for both of us. I didn't think they would be ready this evening but gave it a shot anyway. The pharmacist was on it and Rita was amazing and so kind. Went to the Linda Mar Right Aid to get a Tdap vaccine. I have to pay out-of-pocket so I search online for the best price and found a coupon from GoodRex. The coupon was specific to the Rite Aid pharmacy, Linda Mar, Pacifica and listed the drug by name, dose etc nothing was missing from the coupon but the pharmacy would not accept it. Okay I call the 800 number listed on the coupon. GoodRex calls the pharmacy and still Right Aid won't except. I'm the customer with a legitimate coupon this dispute is between GoodRex and Right Aid. The savings with the coupon is $20. That's a lot to me. What's that to Rite Aid. The pharmacist was pleasant and apologized. A read more

When calling the pharmacy to see if my new prescription was filled I pressed 3 as instructed. Their automated system said it was transferring my call. It rang a few times and went back to the main menu. I pressed 3 again, rang 10 times, back to main menu! Then I pressed 2 (check on prescription refill, which this was not a refill but a new prescription). Finally someone in the pharmacy picked up the phone! I go to Rite Aid because it is closer to home than Walgreen's but if they never answer the phone it means driving there to get information about my prescriptions or remembering that reachingthe pharmacy with option 3 does not work. I just called Walgreen's and the pharmacy answered right away after 3 rings! I will have my doctor send prescriptions to Walgreen's from now on! I did call Customer Service and have called several times about the automated phone system not connecting me to the pharmacy several times. Nothing has changed! I came here to get Sudafed on 4/10/19, 2 associates watched me stand unattended at the drop off counter for a good 3 minutes. Finally I leaned over and got acknowledged, this was at 9am and no one was in line. I guess they were busy and finally said "we'll be right with you. The man at the counter asked my my drivers license and did not return it back. I called the following morning and her pretended he did not remember and said no drivers license was turned in. Suggestion - if you'll ask for an ID make sure you return it. It's a huge inconvenience for people. read more

I've been taking the same medication for years. It's prescribed by a doctor. I'm sick of waiting in line to be told that a pharmacist now has to have a consultation but they are at lunch. Every time I return the pharmacist asks if I have a question. I always say ,"no". This is a huge waste of time. Today I even asked if I could have one pill because I cannot return today. The pharmacy in this Rite Aid is the worst I've ever dealt with. The staff is only nice to certain customers and curt, abrupt and at time outright rude to others. Obviously, I'm not in the "in" group. I've NEVER had any of my prescriptions filled on time and almost always take more than a day to fill a prescription; whereas, other pharmacies can and do fill prescriptions in an hour. But, I love the Rite Aid pharmacy in Farimont (Pacifica) and Russell in Davis. read more

The pharmacy part of this rite aid was what bugged me. I stood there for over a half hour for them to tell me that they didn't have the pills I needed. Hurray...thanks guys. Couldn't you have checked on that really quickly BEFORE attending to the three customers who came in after me, who all needed to refill something, pick something up, or otherwise waste time I could have spent driving to another store? Other than the annoyingly long wait, they are very polite, nice and try to help. The store is being remodeled right now, so the aisles are very tight, but I'm guessing it'll be better once it's done! Great selection of cosmetics and bath supplies, as usual for a rite-aid. Weird Pacifica and San Francisco bottle openers, etc,. at the front too, in case you're looking to be a tourist. edit (April 2008): Having been coming to the pharmacy for awhile now, it's quite obvious that you HAVE to come here often, or get bad service. Like Christina L. said, you have to be in with the 'in crowd' in order to get good service. Luckily, I am now I guess. I am a registered nurse and a customer of Rite Aid. From both sides of the medical world I find Rite Aid to be exceptional. I never have any problems with them as a prescriber or as a customer. I use this pharmacy regularly, and have a couple on auto-refill here. The automated system calls me when they're ready and I just go in and pick it up. Service here has been fine, both at the counter and on the phone, which I call when I have questions. I try to go during the middle of the day, not during peak (before and after work?) hours, so my experience may not conform to what others experience. All I know is I can be picky, but have nothing to pick on with regard to this pharmacy I use it and will continue to do so. read more

At the front registers there's an employee who is perhaps the nicest and most helpful person I've encountered at a register, at any business, in quite some time. I didn't catch her name but she has glasses and long dark hair. She's always pleasant, capable, and as I said: helpful. She deserves five stars, and likely a raise. If only the same could be said of this Rite Aid's commitment to clear communication with its customers. When you call the store's main line, one of the very first thing you're told by the automated message system is the store hours, and pharmacy hours - 9am to 9pm. Unfortunately if you take it at its word you may be sorely disappointed -- and unable to pick up an important prescription on the night your doctor wants you to start taking it. I arrived at 8:01pm at the exact moment the pharmacy was bringing down the security gate. The gentlman in the pharmacy was reasonably pleasant but there was no respite. There was also no way to get a message through to management. When, again, one calls the main line, one is led down a path that recurses back to the start, from the very point in the phone tree where any other business that gives a damn about its customers would allow one to leave a voice message. But this expecation is misplaced. Nothing shall come between a corporation and its profit extraction, especially the couple of minutes an employee would take to listen to a voice message. Bottom line: you really ought to update the hours of operation on the recorded phone message, so as not to mislead your customers into thinking they can get service at a time when it's impossible to do so. The whole reason you have the automated phone system is to decrease the number of humans you need to employ and "increase productivity". With all the increased productivity one would think you'd have the time and could be bothered to update one of your main channels for communicating with your customers. read more

This review is for the pharmacy. Yesterday I went to my local clinic and had my 4 prescriptions sent electronically to this pharmacy. When I went for pick-up, the order was not ready. I was told to return in 20 minutes which is no big deal. Marcus, the pharmacy technician was very helpful with the paperwork and gathering up some information. Very attentive and working diligently.
