The employee was nowhere to be seen. I called and called. She came out of the back unapologetically and dismissive when I said my credit card was stuck in pump's 3 card reader. She replied without obvious care "Oh that happens at times... it will let it go after a bit." What the heck kind of professional response to a customer?! Not at all. I said what does your system say regarding pump 3. She replied, "No one is on Pump 3." I looked outside as she did. I replied, "Well obviously I am at pump 3." She said nothing. I asked her for help with the situation. And she had no help. I said if that pump continues to keep my card, I am going to call the authorities. That was when she nonchalantly said, "I will let my boss know about it." She turned and walked away. I was like ... Nope, NEVER doing business with them EVER AGAIN. My friend helped me get it out of the pump. Be aware: Under the employee's breath, she said, "That happens sometimes." I replied to her comment, "Put a sign of Out of Order, than". She shrugged and went to the back of the store. This is NO WAY to do any kind of business, except to steal people's credit card information.

The owners waited too long to make changes to be compliant with California law passed back in 2014. So they ran up against the deadline for compliance that came and went back on December 31, 2025. Look elsewhere for your fuel needs. Yet another station that waited too long to replace their single-walled fuel storage tanks. Now they are closed for the foreseeable future due to California law forcing the station to shut down because of the environmental risks caused by the equipment in the gas station. The site is currently being dug up to remove the old tanks.

The clerk (wearing a mask) pointed to the open door, and just said to leave the door open when I'm done. The restroom was very clean and well maintained. The restroom is next to the ATM. The C-store itself offers all the basics. There's a fountain area with sodas, Icee, coffee, etc. Also, there's ice, automotive, and some personal care. Not much grocery, probably because there's a market across the street. There's a set of cooler doors, but i didn't see any beer. When I tried to check-in on Yelp, I noticed this station had no reviews or photos. So I verified the address with the clerk. He pulled my receipt, and the address says "2095 Coast Hwy 1." It says "2095" on the doorway. So I'm in the right place. The clerk was really nice about answering my questions. He told me this Chevron has been here for about 10 years. The station is just gas and a c-store. There's no carwash. Two islands, 2 pumps each. Easy to get back on Highway 1.

I went to this ARCO and used pump #11. While pumping gas, I noticed a leak around the rubber area…read moreof the nozzle. There was a noticeable gasoline smell, and I immediately informed the employee that the nozzle was leaking and needed to be fixed. Not only is this a safety hazard, but I was also losing a steady stream of gas that I had paid for. The employee told me the gas was supposedly left behind by the previous customer who used the pump. I took his word for it and left. About a month later, I used the same pump again, and the exact same leak happened. I informed the same employee, but he gave me the same excuse and did not take responsibility or appear to address the problem. A leaking gas nozzle is a serious safety concern and should be inspected and repaired. I recommend avoiding this gas station, or at the very least, avoiding pump #11 until the issue is properly fixed.
