a close up of a sign in a store

This is the last time we do business with this pharmacy for both me and my mother. She will be transferring her prescriptions to Walgreen's today! I came to this location yesterday (4/12) to pick up my mom's prescription a day after she got a notification via phone saying it was ready for pickup. It wasn't busy at all, but I still waited at least five fucking minutes at the drive-thru window to be helped. I even hit the call button after three minutes, no response, but the pharmacy employees were meandering around. I was informed that it would be another hour before the prescription was ready. This was all despite the fact that it was prepared at 10 am yesterday morning (I was there around 5:30 pm, shortly after I got off work). I asked why it took seven and a half hours to refill the prescription, and was informed they were short two pharmacists and they were a day and a half behind filling prescriptions. I don't buy this BS argument for a minute since they were not busy at all when I was there. When I asked why my mom received a notification saying it was ready, the pharmacy tech told me their system that needs to be updated. They have been having this issue for months, but they keep using this as a cop-out for their incompetence and inefficiencies instead of addressing the issue! As a full-time employee and part-time graduate student, I am a very busy man and I get fucking tired of wasting my time going back and forth to this pharmacy and waiting in line because my mom's prescriptions are never ready when promised. If the prescriptions aren't ready then don't send a notification saying they are! It doesn't matter to me or my mother at this point, she already made up her mind. I do NOT recommend this place at all.

Modesto is starving for personable one on one service, a place where service is the most important thing. Familia Farmacia is the Cheers of Pharmacies; "Where Everybody Knows Your Name!" I can't say enough good things about. I have an extensive array of prescriptions, one of which my insurance refuses to cover. For years I'd being paying $200 a month for it at Walgreens; waiting in line for an hour, then being told I was one day early to pick it up. Familia Farmacia is truly family owned and operated. Veteran Owned. Miguel and Issac and their staff of the nicest people remind me of service long forgotten. Their not trying to get rich on patients like me, they are honest and reasonable. The money I've saved there is off the scale. I've saved hundreds of dollars in a very short time. Even their over the counter medications cost less than. They'll even deliver in an emergency. During the Covid 19 Pandemic they've donated gloves and masks to local hospitals! When I had a surplus of paper towels, I donated it to them Issac and Miguel. This is a safe, clean and sanitized business. I do my part, coming is masked and gloved, and they go above and beyond to keep me safe. In a time when there is seemingly no choice but to be treated horribly but uncaring, overwrought big chain Pharmacies; where you take your life into your own hands to visit, after being harassed by homeless on the way in and up leaving. Familia Farmacia is the Answer To My Prayers!!! God Bless Them!!!

However, they are just raw walnuts. It doesn't taste good to bite into them, in my opinion. However, that is why I prefer the black cherry or strawberry ice cream. My friends raved about the circus animal flavor, but I thought it was overly sweet. Which is a lot from me. Give me sweet any day, just not sickeningly sweet. I love to get the waffle cone, and it comes with 3 scoops of ice cream. Their signature scooper is a cylindrical shape, instead of a ball shaped scoop of ice cream. Kinda cool!! I prefer the waffle cone for the flavor, although it is bigger than regular cones too. The service depends on who serves you. They typically don't have anyone attending to the ice cream station permanently. So, just let them know you would like ice cream (if they are not on a break, they will come right over). Otherwise, it might take 10 minutes or so. The last employee waiting on us gave us a difficult time, not sure why. While in the store, I love to look at seasonal or clearance items. Last time we picked up some Easter baskets and items for 90% off! Wow! What a good deal!! The little fan in the photo was only 69 cents. The baskets filled with candy and toys were a few dollars each (regular price was $29.99). Amazing price! The rest of the store area is fine as far as ambiance. They are a grocery/drug store, so they are stocked with several shelf-stable food items (small refrigerated section too), they have OTC medications, household items, some medical equipment, candy, toys, and seasonal items. I would recommend this place! I enjoy the taste of the ice cream and it is reasonably priced too! Two thumbs up! :)
