I can't say enough good things about. I have an extensive array of prescriptions, one of which my insurance refuses to cover. For years I'd being paying $200 a month for it at Walgreens; waiting in line for an hour, then being told I was one day early to pick it up. Familia Farmacia is truly family owned and operated. Veteran Owned. Miguel and Issac and their staff of the nicest people remind me of service long forgotten. Their not trying to get rich on patients like me, they are honest and reasonable. The money I've saved there is off the scale. I've saved hundreds of dollars in a very short time. Even their over the counter medications cost less than. They'll even deliver in an emergency. During the Covid 19 Pandemic they've donated gloves and masks to local hospitals! When I had a surplus of paper towels, I donated it to them Issac and Miguel. Went to River Oak pharmacy to get my Covid vaccine they said that it was going to be a $40 co-pay…read moreand that it was no longer covered by the government and I said well it's supposed to be covered because I have United Health insurance and then some administrator came back while I was in the waiting room and said I had to "pay an administration fee and you can't ask for reimbursement from your insurance company and you can't turn it into anywhere and we're not giving you the shot unless you sign this paper saying that you understand that you can't ask for any reimbursement for this from any place else and you can't tell anyone about the fact that we charged you a fee or report it any where, and that we made you sign this paper." Part two: then when I got the shot they told me that it was only $25 and when I paid for the shot they gave me two receipts one for the $25 and another one for $140 showing that my insurance company covered the $140 so what's up with all of that?

Went back in to get the second picture and while I was waiting Because it wasn't printed the person helping me double checked my last name. My last name is Meeker. The girl behind the register next to the place where the pictures were being printed said did you say Tweaker? And then she laughed. I sat there for a second And throught I was just gonna let it go, but I thought what if my last name was Tweaker. Then I asked her. Did you call me a Tweaker? She said no I thought that she said your last name was Tweaker. I said that's unacceptable. That's a conversation that you need to have when the customer leaves and she just was looking under her breath with a little smile on her face, whether that be a nervous smile or a condescending smile, I couldn't tell, but then she just left and went to the back. My friends raved about the circus animal flavor, but I thought it was overly sweet. Which is a lot from me. Give me sweet any day, just not sickeningly sweet. I love to get the waffle cone, and it comes with 3 scoops of ice cream. Their signature scooper is a cylindrical shape, instead of a ball shaped scoop of ice cream. Kinda cool!! I prefer the waffle cone for the flavor, although it is bigger than regular cones too. The service depends on who serves you. They typically don't have anyone attending to the ice cream station permanently. So, just let them know you would like ice cream (if they are not on a break, they will come right over). Otherwise, it might take 10 minutes or so. The last employee waiting on us gave us a difficult time, not sure why. While in the store, I love to look at seasonal or clearance items. Last time we picked up some Easter baskets and items for 90% off! Wow! What a good deal!! The little fan in the photo was only 69 cents. The baskets filled with candy and toys were a few dollars each (regular price was $29.99). Amazing price! The rest of the store area is fine as far as ambiance. They are a grocery/drug store, so they are stocked with several shelf-stable food items (small refrigerated section too), they have OTC medications, household items, some medical equipment, candy, toys, and seasonal items. I would recommend this place! I enjoy the taste of the ice cream and it is reasonably priced too! Two thumbs up! :)
