Every single time that I walk into this Rite Aide ... amazes me. The girls at the front of the store always greet us with a welcome. The store is always clean and the pharmacy has an excellent group of pharmacist, always with a professional mannerism and explains all our medications to us. We drove from Turlock to Modesto just to get our medication.. so sad that they closed miss the store associates so much. read more

Less then one star for the Thrifrys ice cream plant. I bought 1.5 quart carton marked Chocolate Peanut butter. In side was not Chocolate Peanut butter looks more like.marble fudge. I scooped enough ice cream at the Real Thrifrys Drug Stores . Also the carton had been left out to Deforst then re freeze again. NOT EVER GOING TO TASTE CORRECT AGAIN, EVER. This pharmacy, has been nothing but efficient, professional, kind, great customer service, along with lot's of empathy. The staff, particularly Gloria, the pharmacy manager. I went to the store yesterday and last week and I'm very disappointed that most of the cashiers always messing up my transactions whether they ring me up extra or forget 1 item. Also There 1 tall guy ( cashier) that so rude I was in the front waiting to be helped and he kept working even tho he saw me waiting at the checkout. This is the last time we do business with this pharmacy for both me and my mother. She will be transferring her prescriptions to Walgreen's today! I came to this location yesterday (4/12) to pick up my mom's prescription a day after she got a notification via phone saying it was ready for pickup. It wasn't busy at all, but I still waited at least five fucking minutes at the drive-thru window to be helped. I even hit the call button after three minutes, no response, but the pharmacy employees were meandering around. I was informed that it would be another hour before the prescription was ready. This was all despite the fact that it was prepared at 10 am yesterday morning (I was there around 5:30 pm, shortly after I got off work). I asked why it took seven and a half hours to refill the prescription, and was informed they were short two pharmacists and they were a day and a half behind filling prescriptions. I don't buy this BS argument for a minute since they were not busy at all when I was there. When I asked why my mom received a notification saying it was ready, the pharmacy tech told me their system that needs to be updated. They have been having this issue for months, but they keep using this as a cop-out for their incompetence and inefficiencies instead of addressing the issue! As a full-time employee and part-time graduate student, I am a very busy man and I get fucking tired of wasting my time going back and forth to this pharmacy and waiting in line because my mom's prescriptions are never ready when promised. If the prescriptions aren't ready then don't send a notification saying they are! It doesn't matter to me or my mother at this point, she already made up her mind. I have been coming to this Rite Aid for a very long time and service has ebbed and flowed over the years. Usually I don't write reviews that are negative but this time I have to only because this has happened twice. If you go to McHenry Rite Aid on the weekend and a pharmacist has to ok the prescription, you need to call and ask when they go to lunch. Twice I've had to wait or come back later because they are gone and no one else is there to ok the prescription. I really think Rite Aid needs to fix this issue because it seems very unprofessional on their part to not have a pharmacist on duty during operational hours. I have been going to this Rite Aide for the past 11 years. Recently their great customer service has gone south. I went to pick up my 4 year olds antibiotic because he had an infection and need them right away. They told me that his insurance was denied. I told them to confirm they had the correct information and gave them the card. They replied that it was correct and since it was to late to call the insurance I had to come back the next day. I work during the day so I had to return after work. I returned again and they said it was still denied and they couldn't get a verification because it was to late again. The next day I took a half day to get his medicine and they still said it was denied. They told me that I had to call my insurance. So I did and my insurance said that they never ran the prescription through them and they said his insurance was good. I asked the pharmacist a third time to verify they had the right insurance information because they never had a claim from them. An hour later they discovered they had the wrong number. The irritating thing about this whole thing is I never got an apology and when I asked if they had the correct insurance information they never even checked. Now I'm here again because my doctor called the medicine to them by mistake instead of a new pharmacy and they are making me wait for the pharmacist to get back from lunch to approve some ointment for the infection. read more

I came here for my first and second dose of the COVID vaccine. Both times, waited 45 minutes to an hour even though I had an appointment. I don't see the reason for the appointments when there is such a long wait time. Other customers here were also upset about the long wait. read more

I'm writing this in response to what I saw happened with my mother at the McHenry location. The auto-refill system is a joke, it don't work - it either doesn't refill meds, or it calls and says meds are ready when they aren't. Almost constantly, the staff promise to have medication ready on a day and time, and it isn't - this is a good 75-90% of the time and only when and if the staff would even answer. When asked why, the excuses are as diverse as the customer base which is unfortunate enough to have this "pharmacy" forced upon them through their HMO. Not time to refill (when it was overdue), the meds weren't in stock, the shipments were late, I mean - probably anything you could imagine them saying, they have. Despite my mother NOT refilling pain meds before the due date, they delayed her meds, citing that they needed to run an investigation, implying she was an addict. When my mother was fortunate enough to have access to another pharmacy, which is Safeway, she told Rite Aid to stop filling her meds and they went right on ahead with it anyways, blocking Safeway and also delaying my mother's medication. This isn't a small amount of time, it was over 4+ years. Getting in touch with the headquarters yielded results about as effectively as just calling the pharmacy, when and if the staff would answer. All in all, if you can, avoid this place like the plague. UPDATE: I messaged Pam F back a couple of days ago and she's yet to get back to me. I feel her reply below is a bot - if anyone reading this cares to, look at all the other reviews where she has issued an apology - I wonder at what point one becomes tired of apologizing. If one apologizes so much, are they actually making an effort to fix that which they've been apologizing for, or is it just lip service or is it a bot? Which should show prospective customers just how much this Rite Aid actually cares. read more

Very poor customer service. Pharmacy staff member Michael was extremely rude. When I presented my GoodRx coupon, he said he would not be able to dispense my medication, whose bottle was ready, even though I explained I was completely out of it. He said my options were to pay the regular price or come to pick it up another day. When I explained that I had called earlier in the day and was told could kust bring the coupon, he dismiised me rudely and asked to step aside so he can take care of other customers. I was finally able to talk with the pharmacist Steven, who did help. It seems may be the store is too short staffed, leading to frustrated and rude employees, due to their job cuts from last quarter Rite Aid losses. What was looking to pick up in 5-10 min as I called in advance and got text it was ready turned out to be a 45 min ordeal due to long line and then rude unresponsive staff. Worst pharmacy I have ever been to! My prescription was called in by my doctor at 1:30pm. I went in about 2pm and was told they had nothing for me. The pharmacist John flat out lied to me all day. I had to go back repeatedly while trying to pick up my medication. Each time I returned I was told my prescription had still not been received. I finally had to call my doctor, she quoted to me her conversation with John about the call and she told me who and when she spoke with the pharmacist John. I feel his license should be revoked there is no precedence to lie to a patient about their medication. read more

Drugs & Ice-cream...what a combo! This particular Rite Aid is almost brand new, but is staff with experienced, careful, & professional employees. Jeff, the Pharmacy manager, and the other staff, are knowledgable, friendly, and approachable. They go the extra mile when it comes to contacting your MD and working it out with your insurance. Most other pharmacies do not even come close. I personally know of hundreds of their satisfied customers (probably because I sent them :) Since they treated my patients so well, I started going there myself a few years ago. With their good Vitamin (GNC, Natures Way, & Rite Aid brand) & Thrifty Ice cream selection, I wind up buying stuff there regularly....and have gained some "fun fat" in the process. Their new Wellness+ program gives you all kinds of rewards for your business...and with 500 points, almost everything is 10% off, including a triple scoop waffle cone for only $2.09! I have never dealt with such incompetence in my life! The pharmacy here denied having a prescription that is needed in order to survive. (Insulin). After numerous phone calls with my doctor and visiting the pharmacy twice to pick up the medication, I am told despite having the name of the pharmacy tech whom my doctor spoke with that there is no orders for that medication. More phone calls and they find the script but tell me they have none in stock and can't get it until the next day. When I ask them to check with another location... boom! One time they supposedly "accidentally" deleted my standing prescription. After which, they told me to contact my doctor instead of fixing it themselves. I am so done with this pharmacy. I enjoy going to this pharmacy! The pharmacist didn't treat me like a drug addict. I had some dental work done and I couldn't find anyone to fill my pain pill prescription and I had to drive all over town. Everyone treated me horribly and acted like a was a drug user. I been trying to get my meds for major pain that I'm in I'm having any replacement in 3 weeks so the doctor gave me some medication it's been prescribed for twice in a week finally we got through to everyone but when I call pharmacy they're three days behind this guy on the phone was so rude oh well there's other people that are waiting to and there's kids that need their antibiotics and he's laughing the whole time he's telling me this I'm not trying to take pain medicine to take pain medicine I need it for my knee that's in a lot of pain otherwise I wouldn't be having a replacement in this person in this pharmacy was so rude and I'm going to make sure everybody finds out how rude he was he was laughing at me the whole time like it was funny I was in pain!! This is the Rite aid located On McHenry in Modesto. I moved to Modesto In Sept. I have 3 regular meds. I have been sick for the last 3 and a half week. The Provider(Modesto Urgent Care, top notch) sent the 1st prescription I had to wait a day which was not what I needed after all. I decided to giv'em another chance and did not want the added hastle of trying to get a new pharmacy. So, MUC saw me that day and thought it was some kind of viral infection( No not what you think). The flu. 6 hours later I called and they said that my prescriptions were ready. I came down only to be told in the nicest way ,"We're sorry we are closed , come back tomorrow. Whoever is running that pharmacy is running it into the ground. I don't care if they have a convenient Location. I'm moving on to a pharmacy that really cares about their customers and takes some professional pride in their work. Liars will end up in a bad place, forever. Thank you very little. read more

Apparently my email address and phone number was auto-changed by the website when I made the appointment. The pharmacist and his assistant were very rude, and said they had to fill another file. They made me go back to the end of the line. The line was another 50 minute wait. Rude service. Let me start by saying it's 105 degrees today, thought it would be nice to surprise my kids with ice cream. Feeling no need to drive all the way to other places I decided to go to Rite Aid and get Thriftys ice cream. I placed my order. It was very simple. 4 single scoops in cups. I pay while he scoops. I go to get my order try to put kids and he says you need to scoop some off they won't fit. Scoop the ice cream where exactly?? In the trash?? Second I said since the kids won't fit can I have a bag? Katie says "that's .10 cents" I said no I could've carried them out had the kids been on properly! Can I have a bag? She repeats "it's .10 cents, do you want to buy one?" I said no!
