I have been coming into this Rite Aid for Thrifty's ice cream since I was a child as young as 10 years old. Always getting a half scoop of one flavor and half of another. Abby insisted "it's too hard" and that "they weren't allowed to do that." I was literally here yesterday and the person did it.. and she said "they aren't allowed to and shouldn't." Absolutely the worst pharmacist staff. I was hung up on 3 times, the lady was very rude and the pharmacist proceeded to argue that the staff did not hang up on me.. I've been treated pretty horrible each time picking up meds. I switched to another pharmacy because they have the worst work ethic. Have been coming here for years and appreciate the good service I get from this pharmacy. The employees work diligently with many orders and in a small space. I use the drive-through option often and have never had a bad experience. Many times the employee has gone the extra mile in helping with insurance issues, and the pharmacists are always available with helpful information. I couldn't ask for more in a pharmacy. read more

Went to pick up a prescription today and was pleasantly surprised by the friendly and helpful staff. One of the pharmacists in particular (I think her name was Micki?) was exceptionally warm, efficient, and well-read. We ended up having a great conversation and I actually learned more about my medication from her than my physician! Worst Rite Aid pharmacy ever. You could stand in line inside forever but if somebody pulls up to the drive thru, they get served immediately. Follow up after Rite Aid response: I've addressed this policy with the store every time, but with no solution. We got so fed up with the long wait and grumpy staff, we now drive all the way to the Rite Aid in Paso Robles on Creston Rd. Much happier staff and MUCH shorter wait times with no lazy customers jumping line with the big pick up trucks. The last time I went to the Atascadero rite aid pharmacy was to simply drop off a sharps container. Waited a long time and when I finally got served, the employee was clearly irritated that she had to deal with me. FYI, this customer service predates Covid by a long time. read more

I'm not sure what exactly is going on with the pharmacy section of this store, but they do NOT seem very organized. Not only that, but the clerks who work with the customers don't seem very friendly or helpful. On several occasions when I've ordered refills of prescriptions, they'll fill the wrong prescription, or they won't fill it at all. They often wait several days to notify me that the medication I'm requesting is not in stock. A few times I've been notified a prescription is ready to pick up even though I've already told them I do not need it. read more

Holy cow, is there a "0 star" rating? I watched the scene at the prescription counter and from a business standpoint it was a perfect model of abject incompetence on management's part. There was a very long line of people waiting on October 24, and one very slow cashier who couldn't seem to figure out the system. She was rude, but I'm sure she'd heard from every person in the line how long the wait was. This was after 7pm when things are supposed to slow down, but maybe this was the 3pm crowd still waiting to get their poor service. What the hell is management thinking in any of this? Looks like they are out to lunch. If I owned stock in Rite Aid, I'd sell immediately based on what I just saw. I'm going to switch my prescriptions elsewhere from now on. read more

Love the drive through! Convenient and underused. Good friendly service both times I've used it.

After some investigation I see that this particular product I bought obviously was used and discontinued by the company. That is why it wasn't in the system. I have also suspected another hygiene product was also used. Since it had a rite aid sticker sealing it I thought I bought a generic. Which isn't true. The problem is it's your store ! The actions there have a habit of putting stuff back on their shelves or maybe someone sneaky puts it on the shelf again. It's not a corporate issue it's a local issue. read more

WARNING: DO NOT GO TO THIS PHARMACY. Lindsey is the worst pharmacist--I haven't seen a pharmacist before in my life who cares so little about patients and her job...it's astounding. After not being able to find my prescription and then blaming me for for their mistake of handing me the wrong one, she hung up on me three times when I called back to inform them of their error with my medication. She never apologized or took any responsibility for their mistakes. I was so shocked I reported her and the store to corporate who was just as astounded. Looking back on her behavior I believe she is on the spectrum and so afterward I actually felt bad for her--as she had no emotion. I have seen her time and time again treat other elderly patients with extreme lack of care and blatant disregard for their well being. I have even stepped in a few times to speak up for them. She needs to be enrolled in a course that teaches basic morals and ethics involved in healthcare practice. If you care about your health please do not go to this store. read more

Worst pharmacy I have ever been to. I recently had fusion surgery and when picking up or leaving prescriptions, was never smiled at or greeted or spoken to pleasantly. One of my prescriptions was an opioid and every clerk was very judgemental when speaking to me. Every prescription took at least 3 hours to fill, and my daughter,vwho picked up my meds, was charged a co payment several times until I had to physically stop in and explain that between my 2 insurance carriers, none was required. They would not refund the money. Several times a med wasn't in stock, but they would not call, resulting in an unnecessary trip. I just had a second surgery and am now at Walgreens and am very happy read more

Well what a deal. I come in and I need two things, and the first one is buy one get one free. Yippee! And the second item is buy one get 50% off on the 2nd. I got to tell you when an item cost 30 bucks and you get 50% off on the 2nd I'm pretty happy. Then I add on the five bucks off coupon that's in the Box. Then at the register that give me another two bucks off. I'm telling you this is good. Are the first item that I bought one and got one free was very simply just toothpaste. But there's a brand I like, and what I've shopped at The Other Drug Store in town, they sometimes have specials but only have one item on the Shelf. I have been going to Rite Aid in Atascadero for the past 20+ years. The pharmacy staff are always friendly and helpful as well as the cashiers up front. I never have to wait very long whether I'm in line inside or in the pharmacy drive thru. They have great deals and are always fully stocked on items I'm shopping for. I have never had a bad experience and will continue to shop at my local Rite Aid store. read more

Good experience shopping but when I tried to put my phone number in it did not go through so when I went to put in my other number the cashier said "well nothing is on sale I do not believe" and ran the card without me putting in my number to at least see if there was a discount on an item I bought. read more

A few years ago when they knew my name after only a few visits I thought OMG I'm at the old age where I get to be on a first name basis with the pharmacy. A few years later I've made my peace with that and these folks haven't skipped a beat. I called in at 12pm the other day to see if my prescription which my doctor had ordered was ready. I was told it would be ready "in 3 hours" which should have meant 3pm. I cam back at 5pm, giving them a couple of extra hours worth if elbow room in case they'd had a busy day. I didn't call first - that was a BIG mistake. After a 20 minute wait, they told me it wasn't ready and would be ready "in 3 hours". I was like, that's what they told me at 12pm - 5 hours ago! Her somewhat condescending response was "there are 217 people ahead of you". Well, fuck me for not being able to see into their computer systems and know that. To make matters worse, she then said, "You know you can always call first before you come down here". I told her, "I didn't think I would need to, seeing as how I was told it would be ready in 3 hours and I came 5 hours later". I came back later that night about 7:30 p.m., this time after calling, 30-minute wait in line to pick it up. When I've been to Walgreens in the past, I think the longest I ever had to wait was 10 minutes - so that's where I will be going back to. Fuck this place. Never again. read more

Perhaps the WORST pharmacy I have ever been to in my life. I'm cash pay so we don't have to deal with insurance issues. What I do deal with is these incompetent people trying to run a pharmacy when they clearly don't know how. When you transfer a med, you can't just transfer it. You literally have to have your original pharmacist call rite aid, which I did. It still took 15 days for my antipsychotic and I'm on day 16 without my sleeping meds. They refuse to take responsibility for anything. God forbid they communicate. I came out here because my grandma had a series of strokes. I'm not living here permanently yet. My doctors and my original pharmacy have been great. The second it touches rite aid's hands they pretend it was never transferred despite me having a date and time stamp from the transfer. They're a lazy pharmacy that doesn't like to do their jobs. If you have a transfer or any other issue, got to cvs. They're always lovely and don't judge unlike rite aid. That store is only good for their ice cream. read more

Right in the middle. The great thing is both times I've been to this pharmacy there no line whatsoever. This is big considering the monstrous wait times at the local Walgreens. We got in and got our vaccines in 15 minutes flat! Walgreens took over an hour. However, if you're trying to get a drive through Covid test, do not show up early if there is no line. If there is a line good luck not pulling up too early or you will be turned away and forced to go back in line. We showed up 15 minutes early for our test and were turned away even though there was no one else there. We had to sit in the parking lot and wait. Better that Walgreens but not as good as CVS on El Camino! CVS is the absolute best all around! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I took my daughter to urgent care, after an hour I figured I would go see if her prescription was ready since it was after 8 pm. It was not ready and the worker went to ask the pharmacist how long and she said " at least an hour. I let her know I don't live here and if there is any way we can have it ready soon. She was a rude ,you know....said there is plenty of mothers waiting for their child's prescription and I could go to another pharmacy if I didn't want to wait. My doctor called in a prescription for an inhaler for my asthma. Went in to pick it up 2 days later and was told to return in 20 minutes because it had to be processed through my insurance. Came back an hour later. Was told it wasn't ready. Came back next day. Waited in line AGAIN and had to sign all kinds of ridiculous forms before getting out of there. Their whole system is terrible. I feel sorry for their employees and the people forced to do business with Rite Aid. read more

Here's the real problem with Rite Aid, and its not the staff, its their Generic Drugs. They consistently use the very worst generic drugs. You might as well be taking a placebo. CVS is much better, as far as the quality of their generic medications. I have complained to the staff about individual generic prescriptions but its like talking to the moon. They have no control over the generics the company orders. All you can do is vote with your money....go somewhere else. So Far CVS is better. read more

I love the people in this pharmacy. The pharmacists are usually busy, but I have had a pharmacist help me more than once, and they are very helpful. I love the women at the pharmacy registers. They are nice, competent, efficient, friendly....and I could go on about them. Great service, period. The store has a great supply of all needs cleaning, medicinal, and for the bath. They have a great stock of all those extras you have to get at the corner drugstore.....seasonal, alcoholic, groceries. But the bottom line is the people, period. They are helpful, friendly, and good at their jobs. Sometimes good workers have things going on that may make people have to wait, like the corporation that owns RiteAid won't pay for enough employees on a shift to enable them to give great service. I have been a customer of Rite Aid for over a decade. In recent years, I've become frustrated by the fact that they typically don't have enough staff, so there are always long waits. Most of the ladies at the registers are very nice, and the location is quite convenient, so I have tolerated the long lines and less than great service from the pharmacy. Until today. I had oral surgery, and needed to get my pain meds filled. I was told that it would be at least 2-3 hours to fill them. I asked to speak to Mark the pharmacist, since the anesthetic was wearing off, and I was starting to be in a great deal of pain. He told me to hold on, and gestured for me to meet him at another window, where I thought I would have the chance to explain my circumstances and see if there was a way to expedite it. I have quite a few prescriptions that they have been filling for years, so they know I'm a regular. Mark handed me back my prescription, and turned around and walked away without saying a word. I was at first confused, and called after him about getting my prescription filled. He ignored me and went back to his station behind the glass. Upset, I asked to speak to the manager. He went back to the pharmacy, but returned and said that they were short-handed, and it would be at least two hours. I then went down the street to Walgreens, where the pharmacy clerk was extremely helpful and they filled my prescriptions in 15 minutes. I moved all my prescriptions there, and will never patronize Rite Aid again. I also called and told Mark the same thing. I can't give you his last name, because he refused to tell me. But he is the tall blond guy with zero shits to give about his customers. read more

Slow, rude, incompetent employees run this pharmacy. They go out of their way to be catty if you complain. My prescription was supposed to be filled at 12:15. I came to pick it up at 3:00. Not ready, no apologies. After asking for my script back so that I could go elsewhere, they told me to wait for five minutes; they'd fill it and call my name when it was ready. I waited for 20 minutes, got up to ask where it was, and they said it had been ready. No one told me. I was sitting two feet away. The girl said it wasn't her problem because she wasn't the one who had first "helped" me. So rude. I will be going to a locally owned pharmacy from now on. These people just don't care. read more

I usually get my prescriptions here and by usually, i mean if they actually filled them. The drive through is a hit or miss. Sometimes I can pull up and my prescriptions are ready. Other times its AN HOUR WAIT. That is ridiculous. They are usually short on staff and thats what effects your wait. Their staff are nice, its just a long wait. This is the WORST store i have ever been to.The workers are rude to the point that they actually pick fights with customers.I am not kidding.They have a policy that the customer is always wrong.Every time i have shopped there i saw at least one shopper yelling at the people behind the counter for being extremely rude to them.You would think it is just one employee that is the issue but no,it is the management.They do not care and it shows in their service. I just get in and get out as quickly as possible but the last time i was in there i could not help but stand there and watch as the manager threatened to call the police on an elderly woman for politely complaining to them about the rude employee behind the counter.When another customer came to stand up for the old lady the manager yelled at them both,telling them both "Shut your mouths and get out before i have you arrested".Many other people saw this and walked out with the elderly lady.The store was then empty for the most part.I just put my items back on the shelf and left as well.
