I LOVE this Rite Aid because even though they always seem understaffed, they go out of their way to help their customers. Everyone is great there, but this Shout Out goes out to Heather, the manager (I hope I have her name right). So i went into the store today to buy the large bottle of Listerine, and I grabbed 2 of them when I saw a sign saying "2 for $8". Well when I got up to the checkout, the nice customer service lady told me they were actually 10.99 a bottle, and the sign must have been wrong. So the manager and I walked back to the aisle, and she saw that the price sticker sign was in the wrong spot, BUT she gave both bottles to me for $8 anyway, even though I didn't ask her to. Called rite aid to ask if they have distilled water. The guy asked me to wait so he can check. What a nice guy, right? He checked, and said they don't have any. Because I know the people of Aptos very well, I went to the store after the call. Can you guess? Yes, BOXES of distilled water :| Woooops!!! We went to this location last night for medicine for our son and though it was 7:55 (5 minutes before closing) the man at the door would not let us in. Then we went back first thing this morning because the hours online said they open at 8, only to see a sign that says that they now open at 9. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate. read more

Aptos branch is a good branch, and the staff is very nice and helpful, especially Sogol in the pharmacy!! Sogol is the nicest person in California, and always happy to help!! The only problem in this branch is that they don't do passport photos "at the moment" (which is at least few days already). read more

Wow, this pharmacy does not inspire confidence. It is very run down and dirty. It looks like something you would see in a third world country. The staff are nice enough, but they seem super short staffed. Shame on management. If you need your prescription filled, it won't be ready unless you show up and look desperate! Most of the Rite Aids that I have been into in various parts of the country share this run down look. Amazing this company, as a whole, manages to stay in business. It's not like you get discount pricing for such a dumpy shopping experience, e.g., Mucinex DM $17.99 but I walked a few doors down to the Safeway, not known for low prices either, was $14.99 I can't imagine what is going on at the corporate level: Maybe Mitt and the boys are in the process of a long gutting of a company, who knows? read more

Last year Rite Aid pharmacy sold me a bottle of 60 Adderall's when I got home and counted them. 15 were missing. When I talk to the manager at Rite Aid, she told me there was nothing she could do for me. So I left a yelp review and they responded and I called them back and again they told me there was nothing they could do. So I have not use this pharmacy for over a year. Last Wednesday I had Hand surgery where they actually removed a large bone out of my hand the day of my surgery. My doctor accidentally sent my pain medicine prescription over to Rite Aid instead of my current pharmacy . When we called to see if the medication was ready the Rite Aid pharmacist told us he was waiting for the doctor to call back. I called my doctor and he told me that the Rite Aid pharmacist told him that I did not need any pain medication and that they should not give me any after major surgery. so my doctor did not give me any pain medication for the first night, and I was in a horrible, horrible and managed pain. I feel they are retaliating against me for the fact that they stole my medicine a year ago. The next day I was able to convince my doctor to give me something for the pain. But not after I experienced the worst night of my life. read more

Consistently nice and well stocked in pharmacy. (There is a couple big box store pharmacies around these here parts that are consistently awful so I seek Rite Aid out, or Frank's.) Always has stuff in stock in the store that I know they carry. Very nice cashiers that are always awesome. I've gotten crazy deep discounts on very expensive items ('Cold Ease' normally $7-8? I went in there looking for specific protein, I found it but the price was $10 more than what it said online. So I asked the clerk (young girl with black blondish outgrown hair) if they price match she automatically cut me off and said no and took the protein out of my hand before I could finish putting down on the counter, she didn't even let me finish talking or anything, no greeting at all when I first went in, no eye contact while I talked to her, very rude and as if she didn't want to be there. read more

The older staff here are snippy and rude. The younger staff is much more polite. I asked for help, an older lady couldnt help me, left to get help and never came back. Ended up finding her shopping for herself. Then I asked an older man and he told me that the two items were double in price difference due to Colors ($50 & $100 for stripes or not.. I dont think so). He called for help and still no one showed up. I decided I was no longer interested as no one seemed to know or be able to help me.. once I was checking out the manager finally comes to the front and the old man said I was extremely upset and was refusing help. the pharmacy consistently shorts you on your prescriptions. I was told by the staff that they are stocked out of a warehouse and the warehouse runs short of medications. Seriously?? The staff is as kind and as helpful as they can be and they try to give you enough to tide you over but the Rite Aid boss should fire whoever takes care of the stocks for that store. No one has time to go to a store more than once for a single prescription. There is no need for a poorly stocked Pharmacy in this day and age. read more

They think they're the prescription police. My friend is waiting for back surgery to be performed and had to go to the ER. Got a prescription for an extremely small quantity of a Class 5 medication (not a narcotic). They refused to fill it, stating the reason as he had another medication in the same class even though it functions entirely differently and we're talking low doses. They took the prescription and refused to give it back with the excuse that they called the ER and that the Dr that was seen said to not fill. I called the ER and the DR that had written the script wasn't on staff so they lied about it. This is part of the problem that I see on show after show where people have pain these days and are refused any help. Typically that's for Opioids but it sends them to get help wherever they can get it which includes going to the street which creates a HUGE issue and costs our Country billions of dollars. No one is going to have a problem over getting 10 pills. These are pills that you can pick up in any other Country without a prescription. STUPID and then they lie and confiscate the Rx? I'd NEVER go there. read more

I've been shopping at this store since it was Vessey's. The pharmacy has always been helpful. Employees are nice. Store is stocked and and there are occasional bargains. Milk is always less expensive than Safeway - just up the shopping center. I've ordered photo enlargements there which arrived earlier than expected and well done - it's done by a machine which connects to either your iPhone (not sure about android phones) or thumb drive. The entire shopping center has been remodeled. There is plenty of parking. read more

So, I'm learning how to use coupons. My first stop of the day was at Rite Aid. Yes, I found great deals today. Not a great experience though. When I went to go pay I told the cashier I had coupons and I was going to do a few transactions. Well, I guess they were short staffed because she had me in a hurry, which was not cool and to be honest she was not the nicest cashier. I reviewed my receipts in the car and sure enough, I forgot to give her a coupon in such a hurry she had me. I went back and I spoke to a nice lady (She didn't have a name tag) about my coupon and she said to go up front to a cashier and they would help me out. Pamela was the cashier the second time around. She was able to make the correction. Not just that, but she was friendly. I will be looking for Pamela next time I go. read more

So me and my girlfriend went to this store and found our stuff , this store wasn't busy at the time we went there was only a few customers in the store and we got in line and noticed that there was only a old lady working the front desk but helping this guy and his daughter get like 20 lbs of ice cream and the worker didn't even acknowledge us or the other people waiting In line, we waited for about 7-10 minutes until we left and walked to Safeway and found the same items for a cheaper price, so don't go to rite aid because Safeway is only a short walk away and has the same items for cheaper and even cheaper if you have a safeway club card. I started coming to this pharmacy after I was fed up with CVS. I wish I would've started coming here sooner. They are always quick and accommodating which is great for me because I take care of my elderly mother and they have always been able to synchronize all of her medication to be filled on the same day so I don't have to make several trips to the pharmacy like I had to do with other places. In addition to that, this is the only pharmacy I've ever patronized in which the pharmacist actually has a Ph.D in the field. It honestly makes all the difference since he is able to provide me with detailed explanations of my mother's medication, as well as warn me about any potential interactions the doctor may have failed to inform us about. The ladies who work at the front are nice, but the guy at the pharmacy....He should be aware that people come to the pharmacy, often in pain, and picking up their prescription, not at their best. He is condescending and creepy. The pharmacist is pretty quiet, so don't know about him, but please be kinder to people who pick up their meds in extreme pain. read more

Just picked up a prescription and while waiting in line I listened to a very disgruntled employee bad-mouthing her boss, the store, her job. Two of them were stocking shelves on different aisles and were talking loudly so they could hear each other. And all of their customers got to listen to their complaints too. As I was leaving I stopped and asked the employee leading the conversation why she didn't find a job she liked. She said, 'what do you mean?' I explained that we could hear her loudly complaining and it was obvious she didn't like working her. She then went on to tell me how bad her boss is and what a "crappy" place this is. Always short staffed and the staff never knows how to use the register. This is the kind of place you want to run in grab a few necessaties and get out quick...can't do that here with slow unknowledgeable staff! Oh and since March...no bags! WTF? Who really wants to buy tampons, condoms, pepto or whatever personal necessaties and have to walk out of the store carrying all that crap because they won't give you a bag unless you tell them before they screw up the register they already don't know how to work (if you pay for it, it's a cheap thin paper bag) every other store in the area ASKS during the tranasaction..."do you want a bag?" so they can ring it up. Unfortunately, once again Rite Aid Aptos has provided poor service. I had 3 prescriptions ordered. After waiting 3 hours I showed up that evening to be told that they had only filled one. A second one was simply not ready, and they lacked enough to fill the third. I was told, by the pharmacist, the third would be ordered and available the next morning. The next morning I received a robo call telling me my prescriptions were ready. I showed up again at 2:30 that afternoon only to be told that just the second was ready, but since it was a new prescription the pharmacist would have to be present, and they were out! I was told the third had to be ordered and that it wasn't scheduled to arrive until 3:00 and that it'd take at least a half hour after that to be processed. Never mind two of the prescriptions were for needed antibiotics. read more

First prescription filled here: wrong dosage on label. RX was to be 2 per day, actual label stated 1 per day, antibiotics. Got staph infection as result. Clarified by healthcare provider reissued new RX even stronger script. Rite Aid tossed out my current meds and argued my new meds. I showed them my infection, staph. Oh, that will be $80. Like, what? They found the actual script sent by provider, and they were wrong. They did eventually provide me with correct RX with some haggling. Second script, today: Viagra. Monday, the pharmacist said. It's Friday, dude. Not till Monday afternoon? We out, she said. Really? I'm gone. Called my healthcare provider, switched to Safeway right next door. Boom. 30 minutes later, script filled. Today was my first visit to the new Aptos rite Aid, and I was impressed. I had just learned that the Aptos PAMF flu clinic was opening, but for only a few limited hours which did not fit my schedule well. Last year I got my flu shot at Right Aid, no lines, and at any hour they are open. I was lucky enough to get Alice Sogol to give my shot, and was so impressed with her genuine friendliness, and her professional manner. This is not the old Rite Aid or anything near it! The shop was completely remodeled in an updated way, and was fully stocked with expensive, but truly beautiful, Papyrus greeting cards as well as several less expensive brands. Everything was perfectly displayed, well lit and with no lines I could see anywhere. I purchased some cards and got my flu shot...along with a coupon for a free scoop of ice cream for my trouble! I just got back from the Rite Aid pharmacy on the 4th of July!! Of all days that I decided to refill my prescription. Not only did they have it ready but they were very helpful in managing my timing. I was worried that they wouldn't be able to provide that kind of service on a major holiday, but they did. I've been a customer of the pharmacy for years and have always appreciated their service and the extra consultations (for free) about your prescription. The rare occasion that they were out of stock, they called the Safeway pharmacy and got my Rx filled there for me. I was able to walk nextdoor and pick it up right away. Considering the overwhelming volume they do, they manage to get prescriptions filled quickly and efficiently. I like the idea that they kept the store like the old Vessey's, still stocking the same items in the same place in the store. The cashiers are all very friendly and helpful and the pharmacists and techs ROCK. It must be a pretty good place to work because the same people have been there for years and recognize me when I come in. I sure hope all of the smaller businesses don't lose the battle with Safeway to take over Rancho del Mar. read more

I had the pharmacy call me today and tell me that the prescription my daughter needs is too expensive for them to order since she would be the only one using it. The woman told me that I could go pick it up in Felton 30 minutes away if I wanted it. Basically she was telling me that the cost of bottle of pills cost was more important than my child.
