Long story short: Delicious, upscale, worth every euro for such a lovely experience!
Long story long: I ordered the Green tasting menu (vegetarian) and these chefs, led by Executive Chef Stefano Mattara, were magic!
"The Green" Vegetarian Tasting Menu was delicious. Every dish and it all complimented each other so well. I am not a vegetarian and was incredibly satisfied and in awe of the creativity!
It started with 3 mini appetizers (a surprise as it was not written on the menu!) of gorgonzola ice cream, a pea mousse tartlette, and goat cheese sandwiched between 2 Parmesan honeycomb crisps. I can't begin to describe how lovely and light these tasted. They also brought out homemade breadsticks, foccacia and bread with whipped butter. My wine was a glass of the A.A. Gewurztraminer.
The first course (Nuvole) was 2 quail eggs with aggretti, peas, rosemary oil and finger lime. Delicious and fresh with that hit of lime.
The second was the Ris'otto, with wild garlic, goat cheese, parsley and ginger (the latter really brightened everything).
The third course (Campagna) had asparagus, dandelion, parmesan (36 months old), with lemon and raspberries. It was so interesting and delicious.
Before I got the final course, I had a "pre-dessert". Another surprise! It was a small piece of fluffy and light mandarin sponge cake which you use to wipe clean the plate, which had a dollop of vanilla cream. Next to this, a short shot class of homemade kombucha. Lovely! The dessert (pane e nutella) was this bread "ice cream" type dish with hazelnut cream and coffee crumble.
I was offered coffee to end my meal, but opted out. So instead, I got yet another surprise! A second dessert: pineapple jello type blocks (2) with edible silver foil and cranberry chocolate caviar accompanied by 2 toasted hazelnut cream puffs.
The serving staff was incredible, knowledgeable and very kind. They answered my questions and never let my water finish. Truly wonderful service!
The view is breathtaking. Unfortunately, it was going to rain, so I could eat outside, but I enjoyed my wine there while waiting for the next course. They timing of the dishes was great and I was very full at the end!
Highly recommend this spot, not that they need the thumbs up. I see why they are a Michelin star ristorante! read more
