My brother pointed out the menu as soon as we were dropped off by our taxi. Since it was the first restaurant we saw, and the area was full of tourists, we decided to explore to see if we could find a place more "local". We could not and decided to return. As soon as we walked downstairs and into the restaurant i new we made the right choice. Right away I was transported to my childhood when I would spend the summers near Sorrento with my family. The ambiance felt the same as all the restaurants we would go to. We managed to get there right at noon and we were able to grab a table by the window with the 5-star views. Food was good and service was great, thank you Michele! Next time I am in Capri, I will return.

    Exceptional food and service

The food and service was excellent. Whole fish with great wine and vegetables - plus olive oil with peppers !

Absolutely one of the best meals I have had in Italy. Went there about 10 years ago and was very happy to find it again under the same management. The service was impeccable and the food is amazing. First the homemade Sourdough bread is the best outside of San Francisco. The baked seabass with tomatoe sauce and potatoes was perfection and the side of sliced tomatoes with Italian seasons and olive oil was an excellent accompliment. My wife had ravioli with tomato sauce which she loved. The view from a window table is wonderful. Definitely give this restaurant a very high recommendation!

    Seafood risotto was so amazing

Definitely one of the most memorable nights while in Italy. Ambiance was inviting, make a reservation if you can. Server was obnoxious but the food made up for it. Seafood risotto was so fresh. The quality amazing. The octopus in the seafood spaghetti was super tender! Yum, yum yum

Ham and mushroom pizza was a very good sized portion

Decent value relative to the other options in the area. They have a very long wine list. Cheapest bottle of white is 16 and cheapest red is 20.

Awesome lunch! Ravioli and calzone were outstanding. Tiramisu and flourless chocolate cake were the best ever.

We even saw him take a bite of the communal Parmesan cheese with the spoon from the dish (and the mother returned it to the bowl) which prompted us to not use the Parmesan. The pizzas were hot and fresh, we ordered the Davola and salsiccia e friarielii. Both were delicious but in the end, we love a tomato based pizza the best and should not have wavered. A glass of house wine was surprisingly reasonable at just 5 euro and was a standardly nice, juicy, easy to drink red. The bread was incredibly delicious. The smokiness from the wood oven made it possibly the most delicious bread I can remember eating. No butter. No olive oil. Just delicious. We would have loved to have tried a few of the pasta dishes that looked delicious, so our recommendation for a couple is to get a pizza and a pasta and share them. The salads also looked fresh and large. As many places in Italy, there a fee to sit at the restaurant and be served. 8 euro for both of us. The next day when waiting for our ferry ride, we popped into a pizzeria and grabbed another pizza diavola to go...what a let down. The pizza at buca di bacco was within a euro or two in price and 100% better. If you haven't had a good pizza in Italy and find yourself in Capri, at least grab one or two of their pizzas to go and eat them near the ocean overlook. Don't forget the chili flakes You will be quite content.

Food was lovely and servers were also really nice. The breadsticks on the table were so so so good. My sister actually took some extra home haha. They had a salt + garlic flavor as well as a plain breadstick. Honestly both were really good. Fresh bread we brought to the table was also nice. Eggplant Parmesan was amazing!! I really love the flavor here and everything in the dish overall. Tried it at another restaurant the previous night for dinner but this was so so so much better! Fried calamari and shrimp had good portion size. I love the actual big heads of the calamari (the rings were a bit too oily and didn't seem to have substantial flesh, but the actual heads were nice!). Got the Pizza with the tomato, mushroom, sausage and hot pepper; Viva really hoping it would be spicy because of that hot pepper but it wasn't really spicy. Quite a fresh and hot pizza though. We saw the steam coming off when it came to the table. Definitely a good sign. Everyone loved that pizza!! Ravioli Caprese was also decent. I'm not too much a fan of tomato sauce so I preferred it without the sauce itself, but everyone seem to like it. Veal Escalope aka Scallopini (game with like a lemon white sauce) was simple but a good source of protein. Not a fatty cut of meat - more like lean protein and one of the cleaner items on the menu which I appreciated. Torta Caprese was the highlight for dessert. Rich and chocolatey and the crunch from the nuts was amazing. It was a little too crumbly though so we couldn't get proper spoonfuls on the fork. Also got the Tiramisu but it wasn't as good. There was some alcohol in there and it was a bit too strong.

We got the fried mozzerralla which was American mozzeralla sticks * 10 in flavor. The eggplant Parmesan, frutti de mare, and the octopus were all fantastic.
