I just left this restaurant and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I don't speak italian so they provided me with an English menu. The restaurant is super cute, not in an area full of activity but some of the best italian food I've had. I'm not sure who was managing the restaurant but he was so nice! He tried his English with us and we tried our italian with him. It was funny lol! The menu changes based on the season. We ordered the following: Risotto - with sausage, pistachios and spinach...OMG the risotto!! Beef Cubes - with red wine, carrots etc over polenta. Which was basically like beef stew over super creamy grits BEST polenta I've ever had. It was soooo good! We also had the opportunity to try the risolatte dessert with cake and that was also very good. Think a better rice pudding and flavorful cake.....it was amazing. If they ask you if you want a "digestive" just say yes. It's a shot of some type of peppermint flavored alcohol....at least that what I had. If I had 18 thumbs they would all be up....excellent place, great food, super friendly staff. I did not have a reservation and arrived at 9:45pm. I would HIGHLY recommend it read more

This place is super cute and the staff are very nice! The food though is just ok.. the best was the tiramisu. The risotto was just ok and the main entree (veal) just tasted like fried veal. We had the veal with tuna sauce for app and it was not very good. Tasted like tuna out of the can. Over all I would not recommend. Very over priced for what you get. read more

Italian food that you really really want to eat after traveling all over Italy. We had no reservations but they gave us this tiny tabola in a window. The food was fresh, comforting and delicious. A beutiful veal chop and risotto with the best osobuco. Great Barolo wine and great people. Love the girls and the sixties italian decor!! Ohh make your reservations we were lucky and had to promise to be out in an hour and a half, that by Italian standards is fast!! read more

Risoelatte - Italian Near Me - Milan, Michigan

Excellent restaurant! If you like risottos check this place out when in Milan. It looks like an old cramped multistory home in a modest part of Milan. There are tables at several different floor levels. The walls have been removed so you can see everyone at other levels and different rooms. They make a type of risotto with milk (Risoelatte). It is creamier and sweeter than a standard risotto. You won't find risoelatte anywhere else. The prices are good, too. The service was friendly and the food great. Highly recommended! read more

This place definitely feels like the 70s. The service was not great and to food was really only ok. The wine selection by the glass was poor as well. Overall the restaurant nails the theme but falls short on the actual food and customer service. While the price is not outrageous it is more expensive then it's worth. read more

The dishes were really small for their price. The taste was so and so and the waitress bothered us to order faster and when we had to pay she asked us to wait a lot. The experience was bad overall. read more

Wa saw a nice table setting outside and asked for being seated there. Because we had all covid vaccines they said we had to sit inside and they could not offer us seating outside. Didn't get our business. Very disappointing. read more

This is our favorite restaurant in Milan. Traditional Italian food, authentic 60s style, good service and for 6 euros you can get half a liter of a decent Italian wine. Will definitely visit again! P.S. I saw other reviewers mentioned that the owner wasn't friendly towards tourists, but I am a tourist from a poor Eastern country and the owner was very friendly and polite. read more

Risoelatte - Front door ! But I wont come back - Italian Near Me - Milan, Michigan

The best Risotto Milanese I have ever eaten topped with an Osso Bucco superb. Followed by una cotoleta Milanese. Wonderfully quirky decor and great service. Crowded for lunch so reserve if you can. read more

This has to be he cutest places I've ever been too... the decorations make it seem you are having a meal at your grandmas kitchen. The food and service was great. I ate the tagliatelle pasta and it was nice and fresh. Definitely the restaurant should have a place on your must see when visiting Milan. read more

Amazing food! We had the risotto alla milanese and it was great. The tiramisu is highly recommended!

What a funky little place in Milan. Laid our like a kitschy 60's apartment complete with hanging laundry. Owner and staff were friendly and helpful. The best part was the food. We had Risotto and Cotoletta both freshly made which were phenomenal. Highly recommend it. read more

The atmosphere in this restaurant is fantastic! The setting is cozy and homely. The food is really authentic. I ordered the octopus with potato cream as a starter, which was awesome. The octopus was well cook and flavored.I love the bucatini with bacon, tomato and cheese, really tasty. Must try, walking distance from Duomo and can just walk over after shopping. read more

The place has a nice vibe and looks very nice but the pasta isn't good. It was too salty to eat and not worth the money. The people are very nice and tourist friendly. read more

They were SO rude here they refused to seat me as a party of one and they turned their noses up at men because I'm American. They had such a limited menu that I am NOT in ANY way desiring to go here read more

So so so good. I have had food this good only in nice restaurants in the city so for this place to offer such deliciousness mmmm m mm m.

The shop is quaint, and slightly difficult to notice. When walking in it has an old fashioned homey feel. We order the Anni 60, a collection of meats as an appetizer. For the main course we (wife and I)had their Rissoto de Malepenase. It was good, something I normally would never have tried.for those not in the know, that is a wet rice style pasta. Based on reviews I thought it would be amazing, but my expectations were obviously too high. I thought it was just okay, and likely wouldn't eat there again if in Milan. read more

I love this place. I never knew risotto could be so nice! The ambience was great and you feel like you're eating in some traditional Milanese home. Do make reservation in advance as there's not much seating. They do take reservation online and remember to confirm your reservation! read more

Absolutely delicious! This was our very first dinner in Italy and it really set a great tone for our entire trip! The service was impeccable, the setting in this little old house is SO cute and charming, and the food was out of this world good! I can't believe I didn't get any photos of it, but we were too busy eating it! We had a grilled octopus salad to start with, over a sweet potato puree. I've never had such tender octopus. And then we shared the riso e latte with pears, gorgonzola, and pink peppercorn - it was amazing! Less like risotto, and more like really creamy mac and cheese with rice instead of pasta! But the rice had a nice bite to it. It was so decadent! I wish we had had room for dessert, but we ended with a nice digestif of Cynar on the house instead. I loved this place! read more

Risoelatte - Italian Near Me - Milan, Michigan

Excellent place with a 70' theme. The restaurant is almost invisible from the street and as we came it was closed but one of the employees opened just for us and we managed to book a spot at the time we wanted. Service was quick and good, we took 2 kinds of pasta and 2 desserts. Pastas are ok but desserts were delicious. The tiramisu and pie of the day were exactly as in my best souvenir... and we were already full too. We tried to wander in the park just next but we were ready in fact for a good digestive nap. read more

My son and I both got the risotto with veal and it was AMAZING! Loved this very small restaurant decorated like you are in your Italian grandma'a house. We went for lunch and based upon other yelp recommendations made a reservation. Thank goodness we did because they turned away everyone who was a walk-in. No english menu so be prepared. The tiramisu was also very tasty. Best food in Milan in our vacation. read more

Came to this restaurant for a small meal. Didn't reserved but managed to get seated. The ambience is quaint and interesting. When the food came we were a bit disappointed. Both of our dishes were over salted. The squid ink pasta was more salty due to use of anchovies. Had to add some water for dilution. read more

So good....so local. A pleasant little place with delicious dishes and careful service. Worth the trip to experience a real taste of local dining. read more

Charming doesn't even encompass how quaint and captivating this restaurant is. Before my trip to Milan I booked reservations online a week before. It was easy to get a reservation as I booked it for a Monday evening (not sure if that matters in Milan, but I feel like in the States weekends are usually busier, so I applied the same logic). We arrived 10 or 15 minutes before our reservation time and they were still kind enough to seat us. The place is not very large, I can see why others that do not have a reservation would have a hard time finding seats on busier days. Again, make reservations online through their website. The language barrier was a little bit embarrassing for us, I wished so much to be able to speak to them fully beyond the Grazie, preggo, buono, etc. my High School Italian teacher is probably gesturing his Italian hands in disgust. The young lady that attended us spoke English and we were able to order. She was very kind and her suggestions were great! I wanted to be a little bit more adventurous with my choices, but I've always heard that simple dishes are often the best ones. First to start, an organic cheese plate, all local cheeses with some fruit jams to accompany it. After that I ordered spaghetti cacio e Pepe (salt and pepper). It was sublime and the sauce was so velvety it coated every tastebud on my tongue like silk on a geisha. After our meal our waitress suggested the house tiramisu in a tazza (small cup/jar) if you love desserts get one just for you!!! Trust me. This was the highlight of the meal!!! Omg why did I share!? It is enough to share (between 2) if you're too full and just want a taste, but trust me you will want more. It's so light and delicious! Craving one right now. One thing I will note is that the food does take a small amount of time to reach your table as everything is made to order and is fresh. It is well worth the wait. Make your reservations people! read more

Risoelatte - Ristoelatte e semi is a dessert. Sprinkling of pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and flax seeds. Tastes like rice pudding with a crunch - Italian Near Me - Milan, Michigan

A very memorable restaurant for our trip here in Italy. This restaurant seems to be family owned. Their menu changes pretty much every day or every week. The restaurant is set up to feel like you're at your grandma's house. Very nice and cozy. The food is also very fresh. Reservations is a must and it gets pretty packed. This is a must visit if you're visiting Milan. read more

I love this place! The restaurant is decorated from the 60's. You walk in and feel like you are in someone's home. The server was very attentive! They even had menus in English for us. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful meal our first night for a very reasonable price. Place gets crowded with locals after 8pm so be sure to make reservations-- which is very easy to do via their website. read more

Risoelatte is coming back to grandma's house! With all that beautiful feeling. From spectacular food to the decor and feeling of being treated like a special person. I completely LOVED the place and both owners that were so welcoming and nice with us. They made the whole experience even better. You can tell they love what they do and that is translated and passed to the food. I could write a whole book about how the place looks and how is put together. From antiques and old blenders and apperitivi posters to the bras and underwear hanged in the tender like grandma used to. Old fashioned 60's as its best. The table is so lovely and it already receives you with bread, olive oil and some apples. A menu printed like it's written by hand explains the Risoelatte philosophy and presents all the dishes they have as well as a separated special of the day menu. We wanted to order everything but of course it was going to be too much. Italians eat like is going to be the last dinner or the end of the world and we cannot keep that pace. I could eat everything though but we know how the story ends. They had and octopus and also a bigger than like cold cuts plate but we were going to Greece the next day and we already are charcuterie non stop throughout the whole day so those were not an option. We obviously decided to skip the appetizers and go for the pasta. We were in Italia for Christ sake! Now, this IS pasta and this IS a real sauce. No nonsense Alfredo, alla vodka or all that American shit. Simple and killer. Cacio e pepe spaghetti and orechiette al ragú. It was like that moment in Ratatouille. A flashback to a childhood memory sitting at my grandparents table with my feet hanging from the chair. Soooooo delicious. I was close to crying... The pasta itself is super homemade with plenty of flavor and then the sauces are a gift from heaven. Again, they were simple if you think of today's food where everything has flowers and three thousand different ingredients combined in the most awkward way. Cacio e pepe over a Grana Padano bed and the ragú that is one of the best bolognese sauces I ever had. It's real meat, without that sea of acid tomato sauce. INCREDIBLE pasta dishes! Then as Secondo piatto we only had the vitello tonnato with roasted potatoes. Yes, that was the end of the dinner while we watched plates and plates go by. Appetizer, primi and secondi AND desserts for everyone and don't forget the coffee! When I say Italians know how to eat and they eat a LOT, I mean it! The vitello was sent from God or even better from my granpa. Like he used to make it. Transported me to Christmas or some summer feeling. Spettacolare! A special mention to the potatoes which were just to die for. Potatoes and rosemary: what would you think it would come out of that that you never had?? Well... Just one word: what the fuck do they put on those potatoes?? It's like crack, addictive to its death. We couldn't leave without trying the desserts and obviously we were in Italia so I wouldn't go back without trying the Tiramisu. I won't bore you with more details about food and how great it was, just have the tiramisu! Or two!! What an experience and what an evening. Loved loved this place. Amazing restaurant managed by the most amazing people. Risoelatte I love you! read more

Loved this place. It's pricey, but some of the best homemade food around. The ingredients are fresh. I definitely recommend it.

The 50s/60s vintage vibe of this place was outstanding. No retro detail was overlooked from the juke box music to the grandma's bathroom decor. The service was top notch. A unique dining experience. One of those places that you would completely miss if you weren't looking for it. Do NOT pass this place by. If they would have had the wine we selected in stock, I would've given this place 5 stars. read more

What a great experience. It's like eating at your Italian grandmothers house. Worth the trip just for that. The tiramisu was amazing.
