Bill Barber Community Park - Best park in OC

Hands down one of the cleanest, most convenient parks in the Irvine area!…read more There are several baseball fields, tons of gated tennis courts, playgrounds for the kids, countless picnic areas that are numbered for parties and gatherings. I think what makes this park stand out is the crowd. Any park can be beautiful but, without the proper maintenance from the park crew (and most importantly the park goers) it doesn't stand a chance. You see tons of regulars here with their dogs, families, kids. Everyone is friendly and respectful of one another. The dog crowd at this park is also one of the best I've seen. Although the park is not off leash, there's wide open areas for you to allow your fur family to play catch, run around, and have a bit of freedom! They do have a couple of posts that have doggie bags however, they run out quick so please do come prepared with your own poop bags just in case! There are plenty of water fountains throughout with water filling stations attached, so don't forget a bowl for your fur family!!

There is also a large playground at the park where you can bring your kids. A lot of people start here to go cycling down the Santa Ana River Trail. This is a great place to bring your dog as well. Bill Barber is located in the same lot as the Irvine City Hall and Police Department.

My husband and I built a little house with the giant Legos, and playing peekaboo inside it with our son was the highlight -- he absolutely loved it and couldn't stop giggling. He also adores the concrete slides! They're so much fun, but parents be warned -- you will go FAST on those slides, so hold on tight and stay alert. It's an amazing place for little ones who love to explore and run around. If you don't mind your kids getting dirty with sand everywhere, this is the perfect spot for them to play freely and burn off all that energy. There are so many creative play areas that really spark imagination. We had such a great time and left with happy, tired kiddo and great memories. Highly recommend Adventure Playground for a fun family day out!

Ever since my kids were born, we've been exploring parks, playgrounds, bike trails, and kid…read morefriendly places. Adventure Playground Irvine is one of the best places for kids to do what they do best...play and destroy things (build, then destroy the big lego blocks). There's a jungle gym, multiple long concrete slides, a water feature, sand play area, ping pong, and of course the large lego blocks that kids make into castles, forts, etc. The whole Adventure Playground is enclosed, so you don't have to worry too much about kids running out of the play area from multiple exits. There is plenty of parking in the lot and the nearby library as well as the street. The best part of the playground = free. You just need to sign in with how many are in your party when you first walk in. There's also another playground outside of the Adventure Playground at the nearby park (walk for like 100 feet). Overall, a wonderful place to take your kids for an afternoon. Xie Xie!
