From your traditional bagels like Everything, Blueberry, and Cinnamon Raisin to unique ones like French Toast, Snickerdoodle, and Sun-Dried Tomato, they all looked exceptional. Inside, the atmosphere is your classic deli. You would think they're slinging Reuben bagels the way it looks inside. Their menu had plenty of sandwich options, but I was eying their current lunch special, which was made up of oven-roasted chicken, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, roasted red peppers, and ranch dressing. I got it on their everything bagel. For just over $13, it came with chips and a drink as well. It was only a short wait until our food was brought to our table. The sandwich was truly delectable. They do such a great job balancing all the different items in their sandwich, making nothing feel overdone or letting the ranch overpower the rest of it and turn the whole thing too saucy. Their bagels are really the star of the show here because they have so much flavor and are cooked perfectly. With all the bustle it was a little loud at times, but we didn't have to shout to carry on conversation. Lots of locals obviously enjoying themselves. They have a wide variety of bagels and schmears as you would expect. The bagels were large and tasty. Maybe a little pricey but not expensive. The coffee was lots of fun. They have about a dozen different vacuum pots sitting at the counter filled with different coffee flavors. They give you the empty cup and then you can help yourself. Sadly, by the time we were there most of the pots were empty. Of the dozen there were only 3-4 that still had coffee in them. I tried what I could and they were all pretty good. There are quite a few Roasters locations in Amarillo, but the true OG is located off Georgia Street. I got there around 8:30 in the morning and it was capital B busy. Every table except one was occupied and the drive thru was wrapping around the building. By the time I got inside, I only had a short wait before ordering. I ordered a simple vanilla latte with oat milk in a medium size, along with a pumpkin spice muffin. For how busy it was, I was expecting to wait a while, but they churned drinks out pretty quickly. The barista even signaled to me to come grab the drinks for my girlfriend and me because I did not believe they had been made that fast. The coffee itself was pretty good. It leans on the sweeter side and is more focused on flavor than being espresso forward. It is clear why this place is such a staple in Amarillo. I also really liked that they had coffee sleeves that looked like Christmas sweaters and flannels for the season. It was a cute touch. It is a cute space and feels pretty traditional. One random thing I noticed was the pictures of Ronald Reagan on the walls. I do not know the reason or if it is some sort of long running joke, but it exists, along with books about Reagan scattered around the shop. There is only one single use bathroom, so on a busy morning it can take a bit if you need to use it. Every day, Roasters offers a coffee of the day on drip. I went to another location later in the week and tried it there as well, and it was good too. I think Roasters is a great option for coffee in the area and proves why it has been a staple for Amarillo residents since the 1990s. Most meat options usually have a vegan alternative with a specific replacement for the meat. For the Hulk, it's chickn soy curls, and for the Al Pastor, they use jackfruit. Knowing what works best with each dish can really make or break it.
