I only ordered half a dozen-- cherry, vanilla, maple, glazed, chocolate, and a cinnamon roll. My husband liked the cherry best, my favorite was the cinnamon roll, and our son took a bite of every donut. Our daughter tried the vanilla, but it wasn't her speed (she's picky though.) I do feel like the vanilla, glazed, maple, and chocolate all tasted pretty similar. After trying them all, it was hard to differentiate between those four. Maybe I'm crazy, or maybe they were really fresh and I have to let the flavors sit. All in all, for $10 ($9 plus $1 tip), I thought it was worth the stop in our travels.

To which she replies.....Are you ready? Wait for it, wait for it, wait for it...here it comes: "I'm sorry, we're out of donuts!!!"....WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?! I replied back in a nice but shocked manner "I'm sorry, what was that?" She repeated, "we're out of donuts"....I said "but that's literally all you do....the word donut is the first word in your business title". To which she replied "we have cinnamon rolls". I said OK, give. Me 3 dozen cinnamon rolls". She goes to the back, is loading up the cinnamon rolls and comes back and says "we don't have enough cinnamon rolls". I said fine, give me whatever you have... I had 1 of the cinnamon rolls and it was super doughy and messy cause the glaze flakes off...this is definitely a 1 and done for me.

Let me tell you though, about this chocolate covered cinnamon roll... The edges of the dough were juuuuust crisped and then the rest of it was fluffy and sweet. The chocolate icing covered the whole thing and was plentiful. It didn't taste like the overly sweet kind, it tasted like someone's grams was back in the kitchen mixing it up, one small batch at a time. If you find yourself in Amarillo, check this place out!

We were actually on our way to the Spirit Halloween store on Bell and she pointed out Belmar Bakery, see if they had anything I wanted. Wouldn't you know the first thing I saw when I came in was a baker's rack of ready-to-go pies, and they had one blackberry pie left! Snatched it like I was the first customer at a Black Friday sale. Understand, where I'm from, a lot of restaurants have pie by the slice, so I was taking a big leap of faith on a pie I may not like. I'm happy to say I wasn't disappointed!! The crust was solid, slightly buttery and smooth without the soggy bottom you usually get from fruit fillings. Disclaimer: if you get blackberry pie, you also get blackberry seeds in the filling. And I didn't mind! The filling was enough to balance out the crust, creamy--not watery--and tart like it should be (so many bakeries add tons of sugar to get rid of the natural tartness). AND it held up over the course of a few days rather than begin the slow crumbling and mushiness like a lot of fruit filling pies. I enjoyed it so much I bought another one the morning I left to come back home, I don't know much about the rest of the baked goods there (my 4 stars instead of 5) but I wouldn't hesitate to go back and get another ready-to-go pie of any kind if they're as tasty and well made as my blackberry goodness. I have no pictures because I ate it all. :)
