This is a solid little family owned donut shop! I brought my wife and daughter in here and we enjoyed a couple of savory items (breakfast burritos and kolache) as well as a couple of donuts. I liked the bright color options they had for glazed donuts. My 3 yr. old loved what she had! The food here was solid. No complaints from me. If in the Amarillo area I'd be happy to stop here and stock up on yummy treats! I don't get here very often because I'm not a morning person and a lot of times I don't leave to run my errands until 3 or 4 p.m. when they have long since closed but today I happened to be up early so I decided to go there for breakfast. I've been there a couple times before and liked what I got but it has been a while. I got the breakfast croissant and it was absolutely delicious. It was pretty good size for the price. I got three or four Donuts to try out and took bites of a couple of them. Their Bavarian cream isn't really a whipped cream type but more of a custard or vanilla pudding type. Their cream cheese filling is pretty darn good, more like a cake frosting so I prefer it. They can fill just about any donut you want although round ones that don't have a hole and the long johns are the best choices for filling. I got a couple of kolaches and a beef bulgogi burrito to bring home for the next couple of days lunches but I haven't tried them yet. The lady behind the counter is super nice and very helpful. She smiles and is cheerful and doesn't seem to mind if you ask questions. The interior is very clean looking and there's a little play area for children off in one corner. There's plenty of parking. Eeek. Ok. I read the reviews but I am going to give mine. Just not impressed enough to return. Ordered the jalapeno and cheese kolache, I liked the bread but nothing really stood out. Ordered bacon, egg & cheese burrito: well opening its pretty solid, with cold spots. The salsa was like a frozen ice cube. Husband got the sausage, egg and cheese croissant sandwich, which he said was decent. I just took a bite, its pretty greasy. Time to keep looking. read more

First time visiting here today. I stopped in to get donuts for the office and I pulled around to the wrong window. OOPSS! The lady at the window was very nice and told me when I asked if it was the wrong one she said "Oh It's totally fine, happens all the time. I can still help you here what would you like" She was very kind and professional and when I brought the donuts to work everyone LOVED them. The BEST donut shop I've ever been to. This place spoiled me. Now that I no longer live in Amarillo, I've been on a hunt for a donut shop that has buttery, flaky, croissants filled with fluffy salt& pepper eggs, and gooey cheese but I've yet to find a donut shop that does it like Benjamin's! Not only that, their donuts are impeccable for the price. Yes, you can get better donuts here in the DFW but that's going to range you approximately ($6+) for something thats only around $1 at Benjamin. Hands-down, the best donuts, kolaches, and pastries in town. I recently took the bacon-topped maple bars to work, and they were a hit. You may be eating a donut, but you're brain and your mouth would swear you're having pancakes and a side of bacon. That will mess with your head in a real 'Willy Wonka 4-course meal gum' kind of way. Service is awesome! Try the green tea topped donut (that is real green tea powder in the glaze), and the neon-colored glazed donuts aren't food-coloring. They actually have flavors and they're awesome. Get them as an assortment of donut holes and figure out which one you like the most. I don't normally rave about a donut shop, but this is my favorite in Texas. They have a facebook page and they really use it. Enjoy! read more

Honestly if they would have been in a different area I know they would have done a lot better. I am here to give the Lubbock location a little bit of love since I can't seem to find a unique page for the I-27 location. For my Lubbock friends, getting out to Benjamin's is well worth the excursion. I recently had the best jalapeno cheese kolache I have ever tasted. I have spent a few years in Central Texas where the Czech population drives a profusion of kolache shops, so I think I am qualified to make this bold claim. Back then, kolaches were not to be found in West Texas, so I am thrilled that they can be found and that Benjamin Donuts pulls one off so well. What makes their kolaches so good? Simple - the flaky sweet bread, a spicy sausage infused with cheese, and an ample portion for little cost. What is also rare is the ability to get a spudnut from Benjamin's. I was delighted to try something that I have not had access to since I was a little kid working at a construction site up in Muleshoe, which back then had its own Spudnut shop. On this occasion, I went with a strawberry iced spudnut. For a comparison to the typical donut, the spudnut, as its name indicates, is made from potato flour, which gives it a but more of a bread density as well as a certain sweetness. I enjoyed it immensely as well. Fortunately for me, this spot is on my morning commute, but I would highly recommend this as a cool spot to have a morning date with the kids as well. read more

The donuts have a crispier outer shell and soft inside without feeling too greasy. Lots of variety in terms of items available and flavors. It's just a fun place to go on a morning to grab breakfast. I moved to Amarillo roughly a year ago and all I ever heard about for breakfast was "the donut stop!" I tried it out and the donuts are definitely good but that's it. No kolaches, burritos, breakfast sandwiches or anything else! What a disappointment. I found Bens recently and it's the absolute go-to place for my friends and I for breakfast. They have a drive thru, the interior has a nice feel to it, and they have a wonderful selection. They even have cream filled donuts and interesting ones like fruity pebbles donuts. Definitively of equal or higher quality to donut stop. The sausage kolaches come in two sizes and they're about as good as they get. They have multiple types of breakfast burritos (including chorizo which I love!) with potatoes, egg, and cheese included. They also have Korean beef burritos which was interesting. The salsa it comes with is more of a fresh jalapeño pico that's unique and tasty. They also have a variety of breakfast sandwiches on croissants and biscuits etc. it's all good!
