    Loaded burrito

Stopped here on our way to California! Fresh ingredients and quick service! Burritos were very good but nothing spectacular. We got the loaded breakfast burrito with eggs, cheese, potatoes and brisket. Comes with red or green sauce and very reasonable prices. Would go back

This is a Chorizo filled Unloaded Breakfast Burrito (8"); its tasty and you can choose what meat you want in it. The 8" is $4 and the 10" is $5. The size is right for me but husband, who got a Sausage filled one said he should have gotten the 10". the drinks are $2 - I got a Horchata (and its refillable!). Hubby got a diet Coke (lame! ) Hubby loved the Pick de Gallo and I love their Green Salsa! We found this little gem on 9th Street only because we skipped breakfast to get to AMA CON at "opening time" - 9am (2 hours early!) ‍ but we're told it starts at 11am! ‍‍‍

I had high hopes for this hole in the wall taqueria, but it really lacked flavor. I had three of their breakfast tacos and struggled to find any flavor in them. The red salsa was watery with some heat to it, but didn't improve the overall lack of flavor. The best meat was the brisket, it was dry, but had a little flavor to it. The house made chorizo and the pork was very bland. I would pass on this one or bring your own seasonings.

Stopped in here for breakfast burritos. Really great service and delicious food! Appreciate that they have soyrizo as an option for vegetarians. The homemade flour tortilla was solid. Docking a star because the soyrizo burritos were a bit dry and could've used a little bit more cheese - but the delicious free salsa helped a lot. Also some of the menu photos on Yelp are from a few years back, make sure to look at the updated menu photos for accuracy.

Delicious burritos, tacos and fresh salsa. We had the loaded charizo burrito and loaded charizo taco and both were great. The tortillas were amazing. Clean, fast, friendly staff and great price. Definitely recommend.

Visiting my girlfriend and her family in Amarillo led me to trying some of their favorite places in…read morethe city. My girlfriend's mom was especially excited to take me to El Tejaven while I was visiting. This dinner was a celebration of my girlfriend's sister playing in the top All-Region orchestra. It has nothing to do with the food itself, but I want to mention it because she did a great job performing and I think it deserves to be remembered here. It is the reason we went in the first place. It was a busy night at El Tejaven before we arrived. A group of 32 was just wrapping up dinner. Thirty two people. At that point, just cater, dawg. It took about 20 minutes after arrival to get seated, but it likely would have been much quicker if it were not for a group that size. Once we were seated, we were served chips and salsa. The salsa was spicier than I was prepared for, but it was good. The chips were excellent as well. Most people at the table ordered margaritas on the rocks, while I got a dressed Dos Equis on draft. From what I tasted, the margaritas were solid. For appetizers, we ordered the small queso and the small ceviche. The queso was standard but good. The ceviche, on the other hand, was exceptional. I could have eaten a large bowl by myself. I was pretty hungry, so I ordered the Orden de Tacos, which comes with four tacos on corn tortillas. I got all of them with al pastor. I also added a side of rice and beans, which normally comes with the three taco order but can be added on for the four tacos. The tacos were very good and exactly what you want from street style al pastor, especially with the cilantro and onions. It comes out to roughly four dollars per taco if you do the math. The rice and beans were both great and I ate all of it easily. The plate also came with a side of guacamole that had a nice kick, which I enjoyed. Living in Austin with family in San Antonio, it is easy to find good and authentic Mexican food. That does not always seem to be the case in Amarillo, so it is nice to know there is at least one spot in the city that feels authentic and not overly gringoified. My girlfriend's family knows ball. We were brought individual flights of salsa to go with the chips. My michelada hit the spot. Was it the best? No. But it scratched the itch. I couldn't decide on what to eat. Until I saw green chili stew and asado. I moved away from Midland in 2015. You don't really find asado away from West Texas. The music wasn't too loud and the lighting wasn't too bright or too dim. Overall, we enjoyed our meals. I'll likely stop back in the next time I'm in town.

We ordered queso and they brought us a little cup because they were out and said they weren't going to charge us for it. We ordered our food and it took forever to get to our table and both of our dishes were cold. We advised the manager that it was taking a long time and she said fish tacos do take a while, but they were also cold. When I told her my food was cold, she took my plate and said I guess you want me to take this from you, asked my friend how her food was. My friend said OK but my tacos are cold and she said she'll comp her meal and then I was brought a ticket for just drinks. No offer to fix anything or get us hot food. The waitress even said they put the avocado on the wrong plate but didn't offer to fix it. I will not go back
