Really solid four stars for Rip Tydz. What could easily be a tourist trap rip off type joint is actually a tasty and fun place to dine, drink and even play cornhole. You have your choice of three floors of indoor and outdoor seating right on the beach to pick from. The ground floor has a cornhole area in the sand. I had a turkey BLT, which was tasty, high quality, and large with a great blueberry aoli as a condiment. My wife got the surprisingly affordable and good lobster rolls (you get two). The fries were nice and crispy. Drinks, prices, and service were also commendable. The venue and view are some of the nicest to look at in Myrtle Beach. If I try some other food here and it is as good I'm open to upgrading this to a 5 star honestly. I have one thing to ding. Their orange crush mixed drink was not actually the color orange...it was clear! Can you guys add something to that to make it orange please? Lol read more

All around an unusual beach vacation experience. It's a very busy spot, so it's understandable that their rules can be different/strict. First, the bar by the hostess was stocked, but not staffed, so it required people waiting to wander aimlessly to find a drink for their 45m-1h wait, once you find a bar, you can order one drink per ID/Person, which is pretty inconvenient when traveling as a family. We get to the table and are immediately told that a card and ID are required to place and order. Ok, I get it dine and dash are probably a common occurrence at this busy spot, it just feels weird. Food gets ordered and comes out in a pretty quick pace, but don't expect anything special. It's bar food with a great view and that's what they want/expect. Asked to settle up and it took another 10-15 minutes, at which point the wife and kids headed up to the pier to check something else out. It's an OK place, but If you are just looking for a family friendly beach bar/restaurant, you're probably better off at Tin Roof down the street, while it's a chain, you'll know what you're getting into walking in the door. read more

The location and view is great but that's where what's good about this place ends. The wings I ordered were supposed to be "honey hot or hot honey" whatever. They were not......they were clearly just drenched in Thai chili sauce which would be good if that's what I ordered. When I asked the waitress if they had Thai chili flavored wings she told me they did not......now I know y'all ain't selling Thai chili wings as honey hot. Not the same!!! Egg rolls as dry as the sand they were outside playing corn hole on. TERRIBLE and I can't say this enough!!!!! You could shoe a horse with these things. ITS A TRAP... DONT DO IT. Let's start here, my party of 12 ordered drinks that never came correctly, but we forgave it - we are a large party. Then when we ordered food, that too had things wrong. Among our orders, we asked for chicken wraps and emphasized no bacon. Guess what, when it came it had bacon. We also ordered a steak, that came out well done when we ordered it medium rare. Not to mention, our food took nearly an hour and a half to come out. We talked with the manager all he said was "sorry". We should have known this was going to be a disaster, before we ordered, as they take your card and put it "on file" and add an automatic tip of 15% is applied to all bills. They also add a TRANSACTION FEE for all credit/debit cards payments. As a result of our experience, I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT. read more

We came here because they said live music at 7 pm. Our thoughts were go a little after 6 and get dinner before the music started. We got stuffed mushroom appetizers, my husband ordered the crab cake sandwich with fries and I ordered the fried chicken strip tacos with fries. The crab cake sandwich was missing the tartar sauce and my tacos were missing the ranch leaving them very dry. Also the mushrooms were good but very dry but the only thing ordered not missing anything. Service was friendly but very slow! Also there was never a band and we stayed past 7! This is purely a bar review as we went at night for drinks & dancing. I had a lot of fun at RipTydz! At first, I didn't necessarily want to go out because I was so tired from spending the day at the water park, but I'm so glad I rallied & did! The music is awesome (pretty much all early 2000s hits) & the dance floor is big enough where it doesn't get super crowded so you can actually dance with your friends without feeling crammed in. Luckily, I wasn't planning on drinking (had just one drink the whole time we were there), because the service was AWFUL! Only two people were serving the entire dance floor section, and we literally could not get someone to take our order (sat at the bar trying to get their attention for close to 20 mins before giving up & leaving). I would go back for the dancing, but I wouldn't expect to get drinks. The one drink I did get was fine, so it's more of a service issue than anything. I had lunch here today with my husband and everything was delicious! Definitely recommend getting the RipTydz shrimp and the crabby sandwich 10/10 both soo good. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive and recommended great drinks. I had the "Stranded at Sea" frozen drink and hubby got the "Electric Lemonade". We ordered the seafood tower and for other places in the area I found it to be over priced which is saying a lot considering I'm coming from the DC area which is pricey. I was being cautious of what I was eating because I didn't want to eat too much/too 'bad'. The Shrimp and Grits were too oily, which really hid the taste of the dish. I always enjoy coming to RipTydz when I'm in MB! The food is 7/10 but the drinks are always spot on for the most part 10/10 and worth the price. I enjoy sitting out on the outdoor deck which has a really nice view of the beach and surrounding area. The restaurant also has corn hole which is one of my favorite games to play while enjoying some good cocktails by the beach. Definitely stop here during the day or even at night for a change of scenery. One of my go to spots! read more

You immediately have to start a tab even for sitting at a table for dinner & instantly there's an 18% service fee.. which I get with it being on the beach most places are like that. The server did not get to us for at least 10 mins of us sitting there- there were 3 other tables occupied and from what I could see at least 5 servers on. She did not introduce herself instead she started off asking for a card for the tab & ran off with it and didn't come back for another 10 mins. We should've left. We ordered food and then I lifted the bun on my sandwich and there was a long hair right on top. Had to wait forever to tell the server & when she came back she said instantly "no refunds" and no apology whatsoever. They got me a new sandwich & charged me for both & she did not come back to the table because she used the card on file. No manager came to see us about the hair either like she told us would happen! Ridiculous! Food was bad on top of everything else! Do not even waste your time or money. read more

I forgot to get pics of the food, but everything tasted awesome. The Crab Cake Sandwich might have been tiny, but it was one of the best I've ever eaten! (Pro tip, add cheese ) Their house chips were tasty and the iced tea was great! They give you huge cups and they're plastic, so you can take them to go. Other items we enjoyed were the crabby grilled cheese and so cal wrap with chicken. The restaurant is ocean front so you can enjoy beach views while you eat. There is an outdoor sand area where you can relax at picnic tables, or play corn hole. They also have live music at night and a separate bar area upstairs. Lastly you have the option of getting your table's picture taken by a photographer. Only odd thing about the restaurant, is that they hold a credit card while you eat. (Maybe they had a lot of people walk out without paying? ) idk, wasn't a huge deal to me, but I know some people may not like it. The waitress said they were trying to switch over to something else, so it may just be a temporary thing. But I'll definitely be back for more good eats! read more

Every time my wife and I spend time in Myrtle Beach, we make sure to stop by here. Fantastic view of the ocean, it's right on the beach, not to mention they frequently have live singers/performances. Beautiful ambience, this is a restaurant that'll be a highlight of your visit. Servers are always super friendly and personable, and the menu is expansive with a lot of option. But the food is the real star of the show. Best fish n' chips in Myrtle ever since I started visiting 2 years ago, maybe in the South overall. Tastes like edible gold. Everything else on the menu that my wife and friends got were also highly praised. Not to mention super diverse drinks that all taste delish. It's a must-visit whenever we come down to the beach. Highly recommend RipTydz to anyone who hasn't visited yet. The only rub that I might have is it can be kinda pricey, plus parking can be a bear, but that's more on Myrtle itself rather than the restaurant. Anywhere you go in Myrtle's gonna skew prices a bit, that's just how big beach towns work. Not to mention the restaurant has valet if you don't want to fight for parking. Definitely plan a visit! It's with mixed feelings I share thoughts. We visited twice while here on vacation staying at the Hilton Ocean Enclave a few doors down. First visit to this restaurant was a saving grace. After a long day of excursions, shopping, swimming, etc., we found ourselves without food at 10 o'clock at night. Hilton front desk staff, Jocelyn, (she is a GEM) directed us here. Foolishly thinking a Hilton Resort would offer food options at this time, we failed to eat dinner in the busyness of having fun! Service was very interesting. As soon as we seated the waitress asked for ID and a major credit card. I'm thinking ok because they serve alcohol they need to see ID. Well the waitress disappears a water on the table food on order. We're waiting for food. Finally I ask the waitress, where is my ID? She informs me that they take customers' ID and credit card because they get allot of "runners". She described having a party of customers and they leave without paying the bill and scatter in several directions across 8 exits. Wow. The waitress at our second visit informs us that they waitress have to pay the bill for their respective table if their customer leaves. Wow. She expressed frustration at not being able to have eyes on everyone while taking order, serving food and drinks, and tea back & forth to the kitchen. Plus the prospect of physically confronting a "runner" feels dangerous. Wow - I agree. I ordered the coconut chicken wrap - it was tasty maybe just a little too sweet. The sliced almonds make this appealing & stimulating. Love that we're seated beachside, waterfront. Nice. Parallel to a private sandy alcove to play corn hole on. My second visit I enjoyed a green salad - baby arugula onions goat cheese cranberries. It was pretty yummy but should have been accompanied with a piece of bread. Even a little little piece. Overall a decent experience minus the strange "runner" phenomenon and making waitress pay. I suggest owners of this establishment create a better, less individual solution to what is really a structural, organizational problem. Otherwise reputation and potential of this restaurant is jeopardized. One last interesting experience... a team of 2 people travel with a camera from table to table offering a "free postcard photo". Well after photographing you they scurry away & return with the 1 free photo PLUS 3 larger framed photos - all making you look amazing (photo touched?) 1 for $15 or all 3 for &35. hey I couldn't resist- I bought one not including the freebee. This place looked like a good place to get a drink. To start off, they automatically add 15% gratuity to your bill no matter the service. The sign says for your convenience. It is more for their convenience. Which, speaking of, sat at the bar, and the bartender was just bs'ing with another couple next to us. Not talking any drink order or food order and ignoring us as we sat there. Also, there are no prices on the menu. So you have to guess the cost of the tiny drinks they serve you. The amount you pay to the size of the drink is skewed to the company. We had a margarita and a mojitos. The margarite didn't have a lot of taste, and the Mojitos tasted like lime flavored water. I would recommend this place only if you want to overspend on under whelming drinks. read more

Boy Oh Boy was I in for a treat! The RipTide seafood tower was amazing. They said it was enough for 2 people and it was enough for two adults and 3 kids. Can you say we ate good.
