I was horrified to pay $76 for a set of nails. These are not fancy ones, just plain painted nails. I have had a terrible problem with my nails splitting at the tips so I cannot grow them out. I was visiting a friend and asked her about hers. She said I have to get mine done, come with me. We arrived at Rio nails rather late with her 2 daughters in tow plus the baby. I asked for artificial nails and she sat me down and proceeded to work. There was a rather large gap between what she added and my cuticle. She claimed she could not go closer. I have had my nails done since the 80's. I have never had an issue like this. The woman had a huge attitude also. As I suspected, she deliberately shorted the nails so I would return sooner. In the many years I have had my nails done, I have had them last 6 weeks, usually 8 before a redo. My nails just do not grow. Here it is 3 weeks, and these are lifting. No, not on your life would I ever return to this place. 1. attitude. The woman was outright rude to me, ordering that I control the kids. They are not my kids 2. refusing to do an adequate job, Arrogant attitude when I asked about what she was doing. and 3. Price! $76!!! I am furious. I feel cheated. And yes, I am going anywhere else but here! read more

I recently moved and was worried that I wouldn't be able to find a new nail salon that has dipping powder or have a nail tech who could compare to the person I'm used to. I was pleasantly surprised with the service I received during my first visit after booking using the "anyone" option online. Lina is great, she did my nails quickly and beautifully and she was finished before I could drink the margarita the man at the front register made me. Speaking of which, the margarita was mixed using two flavors and looked like something you'd get at a resort, no joke. My natural nails with dipping powder lasted AND still looked good after 4 weeks. I visited again and scheduled with the same nail tech over the weekend, I'm still pleased with the service I received and will keep coming back. read more

I came here randomly. I made an appointment a pedicure and a full set, when I arrived Everything looked very nice and clean, but they were trying to upsell us the whole time then when we get to the register, they still charged every little detail the work was not even exceptional with no attention to detail I will never come here again. I paid $170 with tip length was 15 dollars shimmer individually for my toes and my hands $15 shape was 5 dollars additional to the regular price. read more

Service as a whole(the complimentary drinks and snacks) are a nice touch. However we know pretty much all nail/salon places offer the alcoholic & non-alcoholic complimentary drinks. The prices are outrageous, I needed a basic pedicure due to time constraints it was $51 with Shellac, I take my own polish cause I prefer OPI specific color, due to the quality of the polishes that nail bars have. We have all witnessed nail salons dilute low or dried out polishes with acetone(which takes from the Quality of the polish. The location is very nice and spacious, but I believe that is what these prices are about. read more

I love it here, my girlfriend and I went here, got a lavender pedicure with hot stone massage, the ladies there were so sweet and didn't judge us for being lesbians like other places do and look at us ugly, and even though we were dressed like we were going to sleep they still treated us so nice and didn't judge a amazing job, will be going back this weekend read more

Tony is amazing and attentive- offered snacks and drinks! Jun gave an excellent pedicure, very relaxing and great attention to detail. Jenny did a full set on my nails that was the best I've ever had!! This will be my new nail spot for sure! Amazing service. Great music and their massage chairs actually feel like a massage! I love coming here and have visited quite a few different nail shops in San Antonio and finally have found my go to spot. I'll post pictures of all of the nails services I have gotten here. I've been going to Rio Nail for awhile and I haven't had any issues but yesterday a lady name Nancy did my feet and nails for a trip I am going on. While she was using the nail drill adter sge put the powder in my nails she literally went through the skin on 4 of my finger to the point where they did bleed while I was washing my hands. Every time I do something and my skin pulls back from my fingers it's painful. I don't get a sorry for her all nor did she try to rectify the situation. I will be returning but I DO NOT want Nancy to ever do my services again. read more

Got my Halloween-themed nails done here and love them! A girl from my gym got them here first and recommended me, so I came here to try. And Rio Nails did not disappoint! I got gel nails, and then they applied stickers, and then topcoat. They are beautiful, and I got many compliments from friends. They are expensive for my spending level, but I would come once in a while to treat myself. read more

We went for my cousin birthday spa day . They were very welcoming we didn't have a reservation and we didn't wait long to get taken care of us . Welcomed us with drinks and snacks . I got a pedicure and full set . Both nail techs took they're time love the color and shape of my nails . They even sang happy birthday to my cousin she had a good time . I can't say enough about my amazing experience here. I visited for Memorial Day weekend along with my sisters, and they were able to accommodate us. Peter was for sure the highlight, he catered to us and checked in to make sure we were enjoying the experience, and his high positive energy was refreshing. I loved the drinks as well, it helped the pampering and much needed mommy relaxing time for my sisters. My nail Techs were Jim and Justin. Jim took his time and didn't rush, the added massage time was the right move. My sisters had Samuel and Michelle, and I appreciate their working with my being difficult and upgrading their nail package mid way through. My first time at a nail salon that focused on massaging as a part of the nail session... I'll make the drive to San Antonio more frequently just to experience it. Had a fantastic experience. Walked in late morning on a weekday during Spring Break, it was busy, but the manager greeted me with a warm welcome and assured me they could get me in right away. Got a mani/pedi at the same time, which I really appreciated since I was short on time. Very comfortable. Very relaxing. Van & Tina were excellent! Kind, helpful and my nails and feet looked great. They even serve drinks, I had a yummy mimosa. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this nail salon. read more

Lina is sooo nice and friendly! Loved going to her only but recently I've called to make an appointment and there's a man who answers rudely on the phone, I think it's the manager and everything I try to make an appointment with Lina he always seems bothered by it. I could get a cocktail but not a cold Diet Coke. There was a bit of a wait but the service was worth it no pain. The chairs give a great massage. My little one was able to get a pedi with me but they don't offer regular polish for kids. There nails are already very thin, shellac is not good for kids. The light and the removal process can ruin their nails. I won't be back for a mom daughter day. read more

Highly recommend! Sat immediately, given complimentary drinks, sat me and my three guest together, worked meticulously and exactly what I asked for. Dean from Corpus did both my mani and pedi and it looks and feels exceptional. Last time I had my full set it lasted over four weeks and my shellac toes didn't chip once either. Nice going in, offered a drink and then the not so pedicure delightful starts. My toenails were cut uneven, no cleaning underneath, barely any cuticles cut. Ken left gel polish left on my toes and didn't even take my gel polish down to cover the whole nail. I asked him to and he said he did while he surely didn't. It's so frustrating to pay $67 for a service and not get the outcome you want. They are more focused on massaging your legs with a timer. Im not impressed and won't be back. My husband had a pedicure as well, Lily didn't even cut his big toenails but wanted to give him clear gel, um no thanks. When i was leaving the manager asked me how it was and i said not good and asked me to show him. Ken then cleaned my toenails off with alcohol...problem solved in his eyes Then as I'm leaving they charge me $175 instead of the $124, seriously tho. No thank you. read more

I have never been a huge nail salon man. Yet, a recent leg injury left me wanting a message. So, I went to get a pedicure. This place offers great service and the results are excellent. Everything is clean and the staff is very professional. My feet and legs look like brand new additions to my old body. Tommy does a great job and digs deep on the foot message. Went there for a Mani/ Pedi on June 18th in the evening. Was given attitude because I didn't want gel polish on my toes. My cuticles on my toes and hands were not trimmed correctly. Polish is already chipping off my toes and gel peeling off my hands in 4 days. Place is to pricey for my polish not to last and honestly had to finish with the pomace and sugar exfoliate at home to get my feet smooth. I will not go back and do not recommend this place to anyone. read more

My boyfriend took his sister and I a couple Thursdays ago as a belated bday gift for myself. We had pedicures that were pretty good but I feel my boyfriend and his sister got more attention and longer time allotted for their pedicures because I started after they did and finished before them. I was also getting shellac manicure and it was nothing like the manicures I've received in the past. She didn't cut my cuticles, trim or file my nails, and the shellac was all over the place. I feel she was just rushing to get them done because it was raining and they were considering closing early. Within the 6 days 2 of my nails had peeled. My boyfriend called and took me back to get them fixed. The guy in front rushed to do them but they were better than the first woman who did them. But here we are 5 days later and ALL my nails have peeled INCLUDING the two that he just fixed. Usually shellac will last me a good 2 weeks but this is ridiculous. The last place I went located in The Rim lasted over 3 weeks without any chipping. I'm not sure if it was the quality of the shellac they used or if she just didn't know what she was doing. We have no issue paying good money for these services especially since we don't do it often but for him to pay $160 (which I've never paid that much before either) for what I received was definitely not worth it. Fantasia Nail Bar at The Rim. Yes it's a distance from the southside but better quality, better service, better price and their whole focus is for you to enjoy and relax during your visit. Not be rushed out. read more

My pedicure experience here was just horrible. I believe I had Don. He was super rough, all my toes were cut from where he was filing too rough around the edges and made me bleed. He cut my nails more than I asked him too, and while doing so left them uneven. I told him he was hurting me, to the point where I was tugging back my feet, and he continued to be rough. I usually never have a complaint about this place but that pedicure was more painful than enjoyable. I don't think I'll be going back here. read more

Walked in on a Monday at 10:15. Was greeted and seated quickly. I had the Orange kiss pedicure with shellac for $57 and dipped my natural nails for $40. The pedicure was great had a wax on my feet and a bunch of other small details that really made a difference. This is the first time I have been here and will definitely go back. I was going to another place at McCrillus area and just was ready for something new because I noticed many mistakes and felt like they were rushing with me. I had an amazing experience here. I hate to say it but it's hard to find a good place nearby. Tracy removed my nails with no pain, performed a manicure and fresh dip set, also removed my gel and gave a an amazing gel pedicure. This was truly a relaxing experience, from the margaritas, snacks, massage, chair massage, to the snacks provided I'm so glad to have found this gem. It took them about 5 full minutes before they started on my nails, I asked them if they could do a design and the guy laughed and said no. They charged $5 for the type of nail polish they used, the set up was very messy and it didn't even have a towel to put my hands over. Two of my nails are very crooked, while I also have black polish all around my nails, this was my first time ever getting coffin nails and it was also my first time going to this nail place, I won't be coming here again. I'll also mention that when we walked in, we could smell weed from the back employees room, and they charged $5 for medium length nails on a brand new set. *Don't come here unless you want a bad set of nails* read more

Halothereapy or Speleotherapy is a therapy that includes a salt cave known to help with relaxation and could possibly help with different health conditions such as respiratory. I saw a special running on Facebook so I called to book an appointment. We were the only ones in the salt cave during scheduled time, possibly due to pandemic or we just got lucky. Either way, it was really nice and relaxing have just us in there during that hour. I wasn't prepared for it to be so cold, so here is my hint: dress for warmth like sweats and hoodies. Also bring eye covers, it's just not dark enough so this is what I needed the most while trying to relax. My husband wore his sunglasses. The spa does provide blankets and a small heating pad. The chairs are outdoor zero gravity lounge chairs which are not heated as I read someone mention in a review. Repeat, chairs are not heated. Also wear shoes that kick off and bring socks to put on once you get to your chair. You will be walking barefoot on the salt. Or the spa will provide booties for you to wear once you are inside the salt cave. Would I do this again? You betcha!

I've been coming here since 2021 and I'm never disappointed. I'm a professional cleaner so I can't get my nails done as much as I like on top of Prices can come out kinda high but I do get longer nails with designs so it can be expected. I just so happen to go last week while owner/Tommy…read morewho usually does my nails is on vacation so I had services provided from a lady who sits at the front nail station to the left. I asked for an almond shape full set of nails. She did what I asked her to do, but the shaping of the nails needed more shaping, and the acrylic was laid down very thick. When she was finished, I mentioned to her that I did not like the way the nails came out that they needed to be thinned out and re-shaped. It looked as if I needed a fill before I left. She told me that if I wanted for it to look new then I need to pay additional for that. I told her that I had to leave and would not pay anything extra. She told me if I did not like my nails to come back on Tuesday because they were closed on Monday and she would fix it. I didn't make it out until Thursday, but before I went to the salon, I called and spoke with her and she told me to come in at a certain time and that she would fix it. Once I got there, she looked at my hands and she said everything was fine and that if I wanted any additional services I would have to pay for them. She recommended that I would get a fill, and if I wanted them to be thinned out, they would charge me to take them off and charge me for a brand new set to be placed back on. I find it ridiculous and sad that a long time customer has to go look for another nail salon because she did not want to fix what she had done. Unfortunately, I have acrylic all on the sides of my nail onto the skin and she still would not fix that. The shape is not the same for all nails and they are not even. She was very quick to try to get me to sit down and offer services to me but at full price. I understand this is a business, and everyone wants to make money, but the service you provide does matter. If the customer is not happy with the services you provided, then the nail tech should fix the work that was done. She was quick to argue with me, but still wanted me to sit down and get services done at full price. It's really sad because I am a loyal customer and have been going there for so many years, but to pay as much as they're charging and not be satisfied or not even mediocre happy for that matter is totally not worth it. There are a ton of nail salons all down Culebra where anyone can just move on as I have done now. If you do go to the nail salon, I would suggest you use Tommy or the other male gentleman and if neither one of them are available, don't settle for anyone else.
