Way to tap into the market of knowing how to get travelers into your restaurant. Who doesn't want…read morea MOTHMAN margarita with big res eyes and wings. Was it delicious, nope (kinda weak and grape like) who the heck cares, it was full of character. Who doesn't want a MOTHMAN chimichanga dessert with red eyes, a smile and wings that was filled with Nutella and banana... yes, delicious. Food was great actually, they even have MOTHMAN entree, went off script for the mean and everyone had hot tasty eats, with a big shout out to the in-house tamales. Located in the downtown where lots of things touristy keeps the area going, but locals know and tourists should not miss out. Service was friendly and hopefully that MOTHMAN stays happily in his own airspace. Tragic loss to those in 1967, however, with the continued story telling it keeps memories alive and in this case brought us to some good local eats.

We were in town visiting the Mothman Museum so when we saw that Rio Bravo offered Mothman themed…read moredishes, we had to try them! We ordered the Mothman Burrito and the Mothman Chimichanga and I would have loved to try the Mothman margarita as well but we had to order to go and I was driving. We were really happy with the food. My husband had the shredded chicken Mothman burrito and they use a queso and tomatoes to decorate the top and extra tortilla to make the wings. The burrito had good flavor but it wasn't overpowering and you could really taste the chile verde. I thought I had just ordered myself a small chimichanga but it actually turned out to be a dessert chimichanga and I could not have been more excited. It was like a chocolate banana crepe with cinnamon syrup. It was super delicious and the prices here are so reasonable! They also gave us some chips and salsa and the salsa was peppery with a roasted flavor and just the consistency that we like. We were smiling and really enjoying our food and that's definitely what it's all about.

Voted best restaurant in Ravenswood...... by our family. And by the look of most of the other…read morereviews in Yelp, it's a favorite of other families too! It was a hot steamy 4th of July day when we made the trek to Las Fajitas. I mean, for this west coaster, the heat was brutal. I mentioned to my daughter that I can deal with dry heat, but throw in the humidity and stick a fork in me, I'm done. Heat is heat dad, she said. Deal with it. Then deal me out! But of course, I dealt with it, and thanks to the great folks at Las Fajitas, I wasn't dealt a bad hand. Ahhh a cool breeze hit us as we opened the door. That's worth five stars right there! From that point it only got better. Nothing on the menu chipped away from the LF's celestial lofty perch. Chips and salsa did their job and made us thirsty. Our drinks showed up promptly and mine, (beer of course) was frothy and cold. The orders of tacos, Fajitas, and salad, arrived at the table hot, and in the case of the salad, cold. All were spot on. I felt as if I were on the Mexican Riviera enjoying authentic Mexican cuisine. Now, to be honest, I've never been to the Mexican Riviera, but I have been to Mexico, and have eaten their food offerings. Some of which I was wary of, but not so at the Ravenswood Riviera. Our food was delicious and the aftereffects were limited to the normal..... I think you get the drift (pun intended). "Ole" to Ravenswoods finest! Enjoy what you're about to experience. Quick Tip: Las Fajitas is two stories. One connected to the other by a spiral staircase. Throughout our meal I was watching the servers struggling up and down. If you're not there to booze it up, give em a break and sit downstairs. I'm sure they'll appreciate your choice. I wonder if they ever thought of installing a dumbwaiter.

It was packed and had to wait 5 minutes to be seated. I was greeted with a huge smile, and I answered (in spanish) displaying my diversity. My server, Gabriel, was very attentive to my needs and made sure to check on me a few times to make sure I was enjoying my delicious meal. The restaurant was well lit in the middle with a lot of tiny lights. The booth seating (where I sat) was dimly lit aligned next to the windows. There was a huge TV you could watch as well. I did not get a chance to see the restroom, but judging from the seating area, the restaurant was very clean.

We were told it would be a 20 minute wait, were put on a list for seating, and given a number. Our number got called about 40 minutes later. We were seated in a back booth and immediately brought complimentary chips and salsa. Our waiter came by about 5 minutes later for our drink orders. He was quick to run off, but if he hadn't taken off so quickly, we would have been able to tell him that we were prepared to order. He came back with drinks: a Mango Margarita for my son, a Raspberry Margarita for my daughter in law, a Mango and Peach Daiquiri for my husband, as well as an unsweetened iced tea, and an unsweetened iced tea for me. Before we could utter a word, he was off again. After this, we didn't see much of him unless we managed to wave him down. In his defense, he was extremely busy. But again, we'd been prepared to order since sitting. Eventually we were able to get our order in: a single chicken burrito with white cheese sauce for me, steak and chicken fajitas for my husband, 2 steak burritos with rice and beans and a side of avocado for my son and daughter-in-law to split, and Mexican guacamole for the table. My daughter in law sent her Raspberry Margarita back, because it was sour and opted for a mango Margarita instead. My son ordered a Peach Margarita for his second round, but liked the mango best. Margaritas are huge, as is the daiquiris. My husband really enjoyed his peach mango daiquiri. The fajitas weren't sizzling like we are accustom to at various Mexican restaurants that we frequent, but they were OK. Wasn't a fan of their beans; rice was decent. My chicken burrito was also only okay. In the end, my husband and I weren't all that impressed with the food. Service was slow, but we think that was only because of the herd of diners. I figured once the crowd dies down, the service will be more up to par.
