North End can be a nice change of pace for Mexican-inspired or gringo-friendly versions of soft taco classics. We often go for the bowls that have good options with the expected of ground beef but also barbacoa and pork carnitas options with a range of dressings that go beyond the usual suspects. We tried the caprese crostini board with four narrow slices of bread with pesto sauce, fresh mozz & a slice of tomato on top. Didn't pretend to be a traditional caprese and I found them to be a nice amount that was in no danger of filling you up before the meal. My dining companion enjoyed the frozen drink. There really are two versions of this restaurant that really changes the experience. Like so many things, restaurants in Athens are one thing when classes are in session and quite another during breaks and the summer. North End is a place for us when classes are out because it isn't as busy, nowhere near as loud, and a more chill vibe. read more

Very cute and lively atmosphere! Our server was super sweet and did a great job at recommending her favorite dishes and their new summer items. For cocktails I ordered an Espresso Martini, great balance as far as still having a sweet taste to it 8/10 and their Pina Colada Spritz was super good, but definitely sweet 9/10. The Mexican Street Corn Dip was very tasty 9/10, but I wish it came with more chips. We got halfway through it and didn't have any more chips to finish it, asked our server for more chips twice and she said yes twice but never brought more. My friend got the Shrimp Caesar Wrap and really liked it. I got the Crispy Chicken Pesto Sammie per our servers recommendation and WOW it was so flavorful and had a surprisingly nice kick to it 12/10. For my side I got the Hatch Mac & Cheese, super flavorful 10/10. As I'm writing this review my mouth is watering just thinking about the sandwich and Mac & Cheese! A new place in Athens. It seems good. North End has like a Mexican theme. Menu features tacos that are small and can be eaten in one bite. They have margaritas of course and food other than small tacos. Came here for lunch with my boo. It was busy. There were lots of students. A big group of idiot girls with a few jackoff guys were on the other side of the bar. The atmosphere otherwise has a cool vibe. First we ordered the drinks. It was margaritas of course, what else. A few to choose from and some are much cheaper. The House Margarita is about $5 and comes with a lime. As for the food there are some very popular items. The most popular seems to be tacos. Get them with a protein of your choice. It's about $8 for a couple small tacos and a side like beans. These are something that can be eaten fast. It has some good food. Maybe the atmosphere will be good but it changes a lot. Try going when the bros aren't invading the area and stuff. read more

If you're going to be open for breakfast, then make sure you know how to at least cook an egg right. I ordered the avocado toast with an over easy egg and was delivered over hard eggs that were burnt. Second try was over hard again. I still was charged for the eggs that came out like this! Stopped by here twice on our Athens weekend when dropping our son at college. Dropped by one night for post-dinner drinks. Nice vibe and music, and enjoyed my blood orange margarita. The tacos are super small and other portion sizes of their dishes are way bigger, which is weird. I would think all portion sizes would be compatible. The food was pretty yummy, however, the service was absolutely TERRIBLE. There are only college students working at this place and they are not very friendly or attentive to their tables. We waited over 20 minutes to even be greeted once we sat down. At one point our waiter didn't come back to our table for over an hour. We found her at the bar socializing with all the other waiters. It was so rude. Also, we ordered drinks from her several times and she NEVER brought them. We literally had to go up to the bar and order our own drinks separately from our food bill because she was NOWHERE to be found. Finally, after waiting for the longest time, we asked someone where our waiter was and they finally found her and she brought the check.
