I wasn't impressed with Rinse. They are an overpriced service that ruins your stuff and makes you jump through hoops to get compensation. They charge DOUBLE what Poplin does, and most egregiously to me, their pricing for comforters is $40 compared to Poplins $8. The service at Poplin is literally better AND cheaper. The only reason to use this service is for dry cleaning, which Poplin doesn't do. If you enjoy just throwing away your money, definitely use this service, but if your money is important to you and you enjoy getting a good value for your dollar? That's a lot of money for laundry but what's the point if I have to search through to find matching socks. The socks that were paired weren't matched and some socks were just left alone. Rinse did a good job, but it is a bit pricey. The drivers pick up your laundry using their own cars, which is not the greatest look for Rinse. Their team that provides help via text is the best part of Rinse. They are polite and provide complete answers to questions. The worst part of Rinse is their ownership. I wrote a thoughtful email to one owner to suggest ways Rinse could improve their business. He never responded. I wrote to the other owner of Rinse to let him know that his partner in the business was costing them a lot of money because he would not respond to my email. He never responded. I won't do business with a company whose owners are so arrogant that they refuse to respond to an email written to help them improve. A few months later I was going through my bank statements and discovered I'd inadvertently signed up for a basic monthly membership. I texted Rinse customer service and within minutes, they'd pulled up my account, confirmed I hadn't used the service but that once, and put through a series of credits. No delays, no runarounds. I told the representative that the website says $2.99 and she said that's not for all locations. Which is misleading. She checked my area and it was $2.99, but when I received my bill it was $3.29. I literally had to screen shot what the rep told me to convince them of what I was told. They gave me a discount, so I tried them again. They did the same thing again. I am an evacuee from the Eaton Canyon fire currently living in a hotel in West Hollywood. I rescued what I could of my clothing that was most important to me. I needed everything laundered and I found Rinse which claims to use high quality products, dry things on lower temperatures and actually care for your clothing. Instead, I just received back my very large order of clothing I had laundered and there are way too many issues to list. But, I'll start with the basic annoyances. As someone who lived in NYC for 20 years, I'm accustomed to crazy attention to detail if a service launders for you, including folding so that wrinkles aren't present or at least minimized. The folding method at Rinse maximizes wrinkles and deep set creases and it resulted in nearly everything I sent them coming back to me wrinkled. Everything is stiff and feels like zero fabric softener was used when I chose the scented detergent option along with fabric softener. That's incredibly frustrating. But what's not just an annoyance: Almost everything that isn't grey is faded. My blacks and navy's, my sweatpants and dark sweaters, my concert tee shirts with type on them: FADED. And almost all of it has shrunk up a size. My favorite sweater- faded and pilling- which has NEVER done that at home after being washed tons. That is indicative of using HIGH HEAT- which they claim not to do. And it's indicative of using low quality detergents and products. Even my white tee shirts look dingy now and darker than they were when I sent them. And these are not brand new white tee shirts. So- what I rescued from my home when I was evacuated a week ago was actually better off being dirty and waiting until I could eventually launder them all myself, versus sending my beloved things to Rinse where they'll never be the same. If you're a person who doesn't give much thought about your clothes and don't mind replacing your things a lot due to fading, pilling, and don't mind walking around in stiff clothing that's also wrinkled- then go for it. But if you care about your things- don't send them to Rinse. The service itself/the IDEA behind it is great. That's about all that is. read more

I was not going to do it, but I decided to see if it could be rectified as I didn't have time to iron everything. The items came back just as bad, and we were charged for the rush shipping, $9.95 We did not send our laundry out to have to iron everything and my new work pants ( business casual) have now shrunk into leggins and the length was to the top of my foot and now are mid calf. Completely ruined. I'm trying not to be whining ... its just a pair of pants, but I just bought them and they were great professional attire and looked sharp. They turned all of my whites GRAY. Brand new towels came back gray. I tried to use them 3x and will no longer use this service. I can't risk sending my whites and returning damaged. Rinse is perfect. Great app, easy to use. We've used them three times. I love that we just fill up the bags they provide, place them out back, and they get picked up. For just $8 you can get next day service. Besides getting your clothes clean, the best part for me is that they FOLD and SORT your clothes. So when everything comes back, you just open the bags and take your stacks of T shirts or towels and put them away. My only complaint is that it's pricey. Granted, we've given them a lot (5 duffel bags worth), which is around $270. If it were less, we would use it more. So for now it's a splurge. But a great business! read more

Will never be using this service again and strongly warn others not to as well. I should've read more reviews before giving them a try, it seems. You will likely see a promo for free pickup / delivery (I wouldn't have even considered this service as every other in this area has free pick up and delivery) -- it's a lie. I called specifically to ask about fees and get a quote for my all-in cost, which when a rep finally answered (after no-answers and the call dropping), all I was told about was the cost of the comforter I was having washed and that the first time us discount would be applied. I left the call understanding my all-in cost to be roughly $25. I am positive I did not select rush delivery as, again, I was not interested in adding any more costs to this and it wasn't an urgent request. Though I received NO email or text communication confirming exactly what I'd "ordered," another example of horrible comms and no transparency, texts about my pickup indicated the 3-4 day turnaround time, which makes me positive I didn't select anything about rush delivery. BUT I was charged for it. I will just reiterate that I received NO confirmation or recap of what exactly I ordered, which I was frustrated by as, again, I was extremely concerned that I was going to somehow be overcharged as I received NO estimate of costs in submitting my order and was therefore only going on the word of your customer service rep. I then received a bill which included some bogus "service fee" (which was not communicated anywhere on the checkout page, site, or nonexistent order confirmation) a "delivery fee" (which to my knowledge there was none) AND a "rush fee" (which I know I didn't request) - all of which cost MORE than the actual item!!! I am sitting in dirty workout clothes as I write this. Please learn from my mistake. I was in LA for two weeks for work. Planned my laundry accordingly. Tried Rinse and paid the extra fees for express delivery so I had clean clothes to go to work after week one. Pick up went great then the problems set in. The day they were supposed to drop off my clothes, they texted me saying, "Their Valet had car troubles." And they wouldn't be able to drop off my clothes until the next day between 8-10 pm. Which sucked a major dirty jockstrap. Because I was out of clean clothes and had to go to work the next day. I told them this and they said: To make up for it, they offered me a $10 credit. Which I told them I didn't need because I'm only in town for work and Rinse isn't a service I could use a credit on. So they applied the $10 credit to my order. Which still had me going to work in dirty clothes. When I got my receipt, they gave me a 10 credit but still charged me the $5 express delivery fee. So essentially, they didn't give me anything for my MASSIVE inconvenience. They just said, "Hey you know that dirty jockstrap we gave you by screwing up your delivery and sending you to work in dirty laundry? Yeah, keep sucking on it big boy!" Metaphorically speaking. Did I get my clothes? Would I ever use them again? Hellz Nah. After threatening to write this review, they refunded my money. So I will bump this up to 2.5 stars.
