Fried fish with rice and plantanes
Tony M.

Some of the best food I've had really worth the money everything taste as if it was made to order the fried fish is amazing as well as the humitas definitely a must try

Roach

I went to eat there with my husband and kids and after 5 minutes of getting my food there was a roach crawling next to my food my husband had to kill it and we told the owner and she didn't care she picked it up and walked away after that we left we didn't eat our food and at the end made me pay for the food we didn't eat so disgusting this place should be shut down for that

a plate of food and a bottle of beer

Great food, great service, loved it madde my last meal in Chicago the best!!! Ambiance fine

Goat (don't order this please)
Tu'ens N.

This is a case where I wish I a zero-star review were possible, because I only want to give them the minimum-plus-one, and two is a bit too kind. They get a zero/the minimum for the food. Plus one because I ordered something I know I don't like so I have to offer them the benefit of the doubt. The service was good - as I guess it should be in a place with zero other customers. He was watching Maury Povich when I arrived so I don't think that in my case his attentive service can really earn extra stars. What I "ate" was his recommendation - the goat. I said I wanted to try something typical/authentic/uniquely Ecuadorian. He said to get that. It was disgusting. I mean, I had to eat lunch again afterwords to get the taste out of my mouth. I usually don't like goat but he said the sauce was good - the goat was probably the most overpoweringly "goaty" goat I have ever had, and that flavor annihilated any sauce or preparation they did to it. So many tiny bones and gristly bits it was just totally nasty. And salty - that was the one flavor that came out besides goat. It reminded me of this sheep intestines thing I got once in South Africa that made people at the table gag and plead with me to send it away after tasting it. So I don't know - maybe their other food is good but if they are willing to serve something as nasty as what I got, I have to assume you can find a better restaurant someplace else.

Riquisimo!!!! We got so excited and we order so much food... That I now have left overs for days! The staff is friendly and we where even waited on by the owner himself! Todos eran muy amables! The food was yummy and the portions are big. Prices are reasonable. Remember big portions. The empanadas where the only small items... Nonetheless they were soo so good! The Huminta al horno ...was deli! Delicious! Mi Cuidad also has a variety of Ecuadorian soda... Tropical Fresa is my favorite! My Caldo de Bola was amazingly fantastic and so was the Plato Criollo a little bit of everything equals yummyness. I'm Bolivian and everything reminded me of our food. On my next trip to Chicago I'll definitely be make a another stop!! Enjoy!

El encebollado, no es encebollado. El mote sucio estuvo bueno, pero el original no lleva tanto cilantro como ellos lo sirven.

This is unique because I've actually have not ever had broccoli or green beans with my seafood boil and I would definitely have it again in a heartbeat. I'm in love with the garlic noodles and fries besides the main seafoods. They have so many different deals and promotions, high quality, friendly service! The spot is pretty roomy and can accommodate a variety of different size groups. I also enjoy they provide gloves, a bib, and a sink outside of the bathroom to wash your hands. Hooray for my crazy messiness! Cant wait to go back! Parking can be a challenge but is available in an around the neighborhood.

I was sold after finding out its a Viet cajun seafood boil spot - plus it has really good reviews. I recommend making a reservation cause they can get busy. I like how they write your name on the reserved table - a nice touch. Also parking in the area is scarce so plan accordingly. They have a decent happy hour menu so we were able to take advantage of that! We shared the Lover's Cove for 2, then shared corn bread, garlic noodles, and the spicy cajun fries. The seafood combo only came with 1 lobster tail which is a bummer. We got the crab pad style (cajun) sauce. The sauce was fire. Compared to other seafood boils, this one wasn't as super garlicky. To end the meal, we built our own popsicles with unlimited toppings! Great way to end the meal. Flavors they had were matcha, ube, cookies n cream, birthday cake, blue raspberry, etc.

Do not walk, run to Void! Since moving back to Chicago, we have made a consistent effort to get out…read moreof our neighborhood to try new restaurants. Void did not disappoint. The restaurant was definitely busy on a Friday night, and we made a reservation for a 7:45 seating and were taken to our table right away. We loved the play on an old neighborhood bar with the fun red and white glass chandeliers that you would find at any watering hole in the city. Funny enough, we discovered Void via a Tik Tok video and came specifically to try the Agnolotti. This is by far one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. The sweet potato paired with ricotta, kimchi, scallion and toasted sesame are an amazing touch and play on this type of pasta. We additionally ordered both the house made focaccia and the Spaghetti Uh-O's. These two items are definitely what Void is known for, and we loved both of them. The focaccia was super fresh, and the side of butter with honey was incredible. The spaghetti came in a fun little branded can, which of course added a nice touch to the dish. We ordered several cocktails on their menu, and were so full by the end that we did not order the dessert. The staff was super friendly during the entirety of our time at the restaurant. One item we wished we try was the chicken, which happened to be one of the staff's favorite. We will definitely be back to try that soon. Cheers!

The food started with a complementary potato soup which was flavorful and lovely. We got a round of drinks and one of our party didn't care for her drink and it was replaced no question. We had the flat iron steak, the chicken, and the salmon and each entree was wonderful. The proteins were all very tender and juicy. I was also very pleased with the salad that came first which was lightly dressed and very seasonal. We finished our dining experience with a slice of cheesecake. It was a nice cap to the end of a wonderful meal. I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion - I would love to come back and try some of the other items on their menu.

The ambiance is intimate, romantic, and just feels exclusive without trying too hard. I took my girl there for her birthday and she absolutely loved it -- which is always the real test. We had the ribeye and the Rotini Bianco, and both were excellent. The ribeye was cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful. The Rotini Bianco was rich, creamy, and done just right. Every dish felt intentional and well executed. Don't hesitate to book. If you're trying to impress or celebrate something special, this is the move.

My friends and I started the evening with champagne and the Mezze Collection, which is an assortment of spreads and pita. I've had this before at brunch, and it is a REQUIREMENT at Andros. We then ordered a salad, mussels, lamb shoulder, and the whole fish (Andros style) to share. Several of the items were on their specials menu for the night, and they were all to die for. The fish was prepared and deboned at the table, which took out all the stress and work! I can't wait to come back for another dinner experience!

This place has been on my list for a very long time and we got in for a Valentine's Day…read morereservation. I was really excited about the limited menu because I wanted the shredded lamb shoulder. Our reservation was at 5:30... About as early as you can get for dinner and yet they were already sold out of the special so that was really disappointing that they would be so unprepared for one of the most popular dinner date holidays of the year... Alternatively, we went with a bunch of appetizers and split two entrées. Somewhere delicious somewhere very mid and somewhere a let down. Here's the breakdown: - Fried zucchini chips 5/5 - one of my favs in the city - Octopus 2/5 - one of my least favs in the city... it lacked flavor, was a small portion for the price and had a gooey string that grossed us both out - Fish spread that started with an M... haha 5/5 - I can't remember the name, but this was delicious! It was definitely pricey for the portion though especially because it didn't include pita... We had to pay an additional seven dollars for two pieces of pita, which was ridiculous - Oysters - 4/5 - husband enjoyed - Katifi cheese pie 4/5 - very tasty! Sweet and pricey but worth it - On special - fried fish- 2/5 - the waitress described these as small bite-size fish, but that is not how they came out and instead, it was really difficult to debone them and you hardly got any meat out of it. The flavor wasn't bad, but the experience was disappointing. I will say that they comped these after our feedback. - Gyros - 2.5/5 - it's not that these were bad per se... But I've had way better in the city to include fast, casual restaurants, and the price for the portion was pretty ridiculous again. Hardly any accoutrements. - Rockfish with pistachio brown butter - 5/5 - I believe this fish was on special and she described it as being a sweeter fish. They did come to the table and cut it for you so it was a lot easier to eat. The fish was cooked perfectly and had a sweet flavor. I also liked that you could choose your own dressing because the brown butter pistachio was delicious. - baklava froyo 3/5 - i'll bump this up to three because my husband liked it more than I did, but I was very disappointed by this dessert. The Greek yogurt was sour as to be expected, but instead of having actual baklava or pistachio flavor to balance it out, it basically just tasted like they dumped simple syrup on it and it was like a sour ice cream with just pure sugar drizzle... It really didn't come together for me. Overall, the service was really good and our waiter was very sweet. Also, our wine was delicious and the zucchini chips and fish spread were good, so maybe we would come for appetizers and drinks, but I definitely wouldn't return for a Greek dinner with the other options we have in the city.
