Fried Snapper with rice and beans. Sweet plantain!
Terry B.

Where do I start? Everything was just perfect. Service is fantastic! The food wonderful and the coffee! Just an amazing dinner.

The steak.

Cuban food is well outside my wheelhouse, but after this dinner, I'm a fan. The relatively low rating only comes because the steak was thin, grisly, and tough. I think if I'd ordered something different, they'd have been five stars. In other words, avoid the steak. But the seasonings, and everything else on the plate, were first rate. If you're hungry for Cuban food, I do recommend this place.

Some of the best Cuban food in Miami, a hidden gem amongst all the other countless restaurants

Café con leche

I enjoyed rinconcito cubano. The service was quick, especially for a Sunday and during brunch time (11:30am)! It is located in the corner of a strip mall, and because of its corner placement, you do not feel the overall "busyness" of the other businesses. The food overall was good, it was not "the best Cuban style food in Miami", but it got the job done in terms of satisfying my desire for a simple Cuban breakfast. My partner ordered the vaca frita, and it was fine. Nothing to write home about... and it was not his favorite vaca frita. He gave it 3 stars overall. My plantain omelette was fine, it was not as fluffy as I would have liked it, but it was fine. 3.5 stars. The Cuban toast was good, the bread was fresh and nicely toasted with just the right amount of butter. 5 stars. The café con leche was delicious! I took an extra cup to-go 5 stars. Between the service, price, free parking, and overall food quality I rated this establishment a solid 3.9 and rounded up to 4 stars. I would come back for their Cuban toast and cafe con leche, which is a 'go-to' in Cuban culture. It's a an overall good Cuban spot for the Sweetwater-Flagler area.

My husband and I stop by for a quick snack in the afternoon. In Sweetwater, there is a cafe in every corner. We didn't know which one to pick. There were big name brand bakeries and cafes but I wanted to try somewhere small and unique. Yelp helped us find it. We had ham qroquetas and cortadito. Qroquetas were big and warm. I liked the flavor but nothing really special. Cortadito was tasty and my husband's cafesito was good too. It was just from outside window but next time, I want to try their food.

They have now outside seating if you'd like to eat at the restaurant amidst CoVid-19. Keeping tables very clean and socially distant.

We started with melon and dragonfruit drinks which were like aguas frescas. For starters we tried the Taquitos and Chancho con Yucca and they were excellent. The pork tenderloin chunks in the Chancho were done well and had a tasty coating of spices. We loved the chopped cabbage. We also liked the pulled beef in the Taquitos. The fried beans were creamy and delicious. In fact, everything on our plates was delicious! For mains, we had the Fajitas de Carne and Lengua en Salsa. Both were very good. I haven't had a tamale in a while so I decided to try the Indio Maiz; the sweet corn was good as was the sour cream and soft cheese. Yum. I really enjoyed Maranos. I may have been the only gringo in the place :).

The portions were good in comparison to Los Ranchos and the steak was extremely flavorful and soft. They also have a selection of sauces for the steak or your meal. The service was great. Our only complaint was that they served canned beverages. If you are somebody that drinks a lot of soda, the bill can quickly get expensive. We love Nicaraguan food and frequently dine at other places but this restaurant by far is the best. The wait can be long on the weekends with larger parties so just be aware of that.

The fresh maracuya juice was amazingly delicious! Large portions here and my fish meal was great. Leftovers were more great. They boast both indoor and outdoor seating with the same aesthetic and nods to Colombian culture, like the cute hats and sandals hanging on the wall. We were seated inside fairly quickly on the Sunday afternoon we came in. They were pretty busy, but the waiters were kind of hanging out at the bar, just chit-chatting. We were able to get one of the servers to look at us after a couple of minutes of sitting there. They brought us a little palate-opener of a small portion of a simple soup. They had a margarita special we tried, $5 frozen margaritas. The maracuya (passion fruit) one was a solid choice. I also ordered the mojarra frita with white rice, tostones, and salad. The rice was really undercooked. The waiter tried to appease us by bringing us more of the same uncooked rice. We were not the only table to say something about it because our neighbors confirmed they too received the same and were also unhappy. Other than that, the rest of my meal was great. However, I will say my mom was very upset with her experience and expressed that her chicken wasn't prepared well either.

Great recommendations and very attentive. Food is delicious. The sancocho was made just right and the tostones de picana were fantastic. The ceviche is one of my favorites in all of Miami. My daughter loves the chicken nuggets and seasoned fries. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and the staff is attentive from the moment you walk in until you leave the restaurant.
