I had an incredible experience at Rimini before heading to a concert with my best friend! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and seated right away for our reservation. The atmosphere is fantastic (dark, intimate, and full of character). The drinks were excellent, and the service was just as impressive. We both ordered the steak with lobster ravioli and added a lobster tail, and it absolutely hit the spot! We finished the evening with espresso and dessert while enjoying the tableside entertainment, which really added to the whole experience. Rimini has officially become one of our new go-to spots. For celebrations they have a guitarist who comes to each table to play n sing live music! Since we were celebrating a birthday, we ordered the dessert, which arrives with a large sparkler. When they braught that out, the guitarist came by again and serenaded us with birthday songs in both Italian and English. It was a memorable and special experience for our guest! I came here on a Sunday Evening. This is a cute Italian spot located in downtown Kirkland. We got a few drinks and a Caprese appetizer to start. The lobster ravioli could have been more flavorful. We usually eat a ton of food and rarely have leftovers, but we did this time. The Paccheri di Mare's tomato sauce was the first time I've had capers in a red sauce, but it worked well! I am so OBSESSED with Rimini! I was taking here for my birthday on a Friday night and it was so incredibly lively. It felt like I was part of one big family while I was dying here from the quality of the food, to the generous portions, and don't even get me started on the live music. We did group songs with the entire restaurant, every table got individually serenaded once, and I even got the happy birthday song too! The pasta is delicious and there is so much of it. The appetizer was hearty too and the servers took great care of us. It felt romantic with my boyfriend but somehow even more romantic with everyone who was thrilled to be there working the dinner service. Had we not been seated we would've gone to a Restaurante Il Paradiso. Short rib ravioli dish was unbelievably delicious. Steak mushroom dish was also unbelievably good. The interior is dark and moody, the waitresses are all in short shorts while the men are in all black. It's a bit of a tight fit. The only reason I marked this down is due to the sound. It was so loud I could only catch about 80% of the conversation I was having. The food is worth it. Tonight began a family tradition we will continue for a long time. Celebrating a birthday began with a yummy appetizer of olives followed by a serenade of Frank Sinatra while enjoying traditional and flavorful Italian dishes. I have another trip planned for Bothell and I will make Rimini my first stop The food was amazing. I never thought that I would like lobster ravioli, but when I tried this dish I was blown away. I couldn't get enough. The ravioli was so fresh and the flavor of lobster was amazing. Then the fettuccini in tomato cream sauce with the lobster tail was so delicious and filling. This is a lovely authentic Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown Kirkland. They are only about a year old so I hadn't realized they moved in, until we decided to try it for my birthday dinner. I'm so glad we chose this spot! The restaurant has a small shopfront on Lake, and then goes back all the way to the other side of the street, facing the water. It is very cozy and the warm family vibes are really felt from the time you enter to the time you leave. It really felt like when I'm with my Italian extended in-laws around the holidays. We started with a bottle of Montepulciano to go with the arugula salad and eggplant parmigiani - both were delicious! Next we were entertained by lively accordion music and singing before our dinner arrived. For dinner I had the cioppino and my friend had the ziti. The flavors were savory and filling - and portions were enough to warrant leftovers! We finished the meal with the homemade cannoli and Nutella cheesecake, which they topped with a large sparkling candle (accompanied by beautiful singing!) Everything made me smile from ear to ear. The pasta tasted so fresh, and the sausage, meatballs etc in the dishes were made in house. They even had us try some housemade cheese (amazing) My filet mignon was cooked perfectly. I also had the white chocolate tiramisu where they presented it the most sweetest way possible. Rimini basically blew up in the local neighborhood group with everyone singing its praises. Naturally, I had to see for myself. I have to say I was delightfully pleased. I knew it was popular, so we arrived close to 8pm and we were seated immediately despite a full house. It turns out they have a back room. It was pleasantly quieter there with a view out to Lake Washington. The walls are painted black and decorated with numerous black and white photos of famous Italians. Service was courteous, and a gentleman (owner?) walked around the tables serenading the diners. It was already impressive before any food arrived. Slices of fresh bread with olive oil plus cheese slices with truffle sauce are delivered to the table - free of charge and delicious - nice bonuses. Prices are at the "celebratory" level, but it is worth the money in my opinion. I must have been tired cuz I normally love clams, but it was a lot to sort through that night. The pasta was a squid ink pasta that are cut to look like squid tubes. The server told me the name, but I have no clue what she was saying. LOL. Maybe they can add a pasta cheat sheet to the menu since many dishes say house made pasta without specifying the type. The sauce tasted more lemon than rose, not my favorite flavor for a savory dish. The photo shows a yellow to faintly-tan color sauce, not very rose-like color (commonly a deeper pale orange color). Uncle Toni was fantastic. His voice is true velvet. Sometimes when you have live music it takes away from the food and being able to talk with the one you are with. Now the restaurant itself is loud, but if you get seated in the back, then it's not as noisy, and you get a great view of Kirkland Marina area. Parking is street parking with garages close by. But I wanted to take my hubby here beacuse he's obsessed with the Cacio e Pepe Truffle Pasta (the one with pasta in the Pecarino-Romano cheese wheel). So he had that recently, and was a happy camper!
