Instead they spent the better part of an hour troubleshooting, allowing me to watch their process, and ultimately landing on two problems. One simply required some calibration to resolve. The other issue was a dead stylus, which they had a replacement for and installed, for a reasonable price. The store never rushes you to buy- take your time to listen to really good gear. Get good advice on how to put a system together. Most of all- ask to listen to the super expensive stuff that you won't be able to buy- and figure out what good audio reproduction can be- then build your system to emulate that.

We had this company install a car starter…read more After the car would lock it's own doors and stay running we asked for the car starter system to be removed. We were told it would be a 100 dollars to remove the faulty starting system they installed, we begrudgingly not putting up and fuss, agreed and scheduled an appointment for the removal. We dropped the truck off in their parking lot at 8:30 AM for the 9AM appointment. We called at about 10:30 to check in the truck. This is where things went bad. The owner Mike raised his voice over the phone and yelled at us for not calling to tell him the truck was in his lot and would not be able to perform the work as scheduled. I added that the truck was where it was supposed and when it was supposed to be there and to see if he could please perform the task. His response was this "you didn't tell me it was in the lot, it's not my problem and I would find someone else" and then hung up. I would not recommend this service.

And I know nothing of how it work, just want a well working audio system. I never pump the volume past 80%. They said I need to replaced my speaker, so I bought a set of alpine type R (front and rear) $600+. Works good for about a year and the same thing happened. I came back asking the cause, why it kept happening and what do i need so that it'll stop breaking. They said it's probably the deck, so I bought a brand new $300 deck from them. Didn't fix anything, speaker still shit, I ended up buying another set of type R, another $600+ and that seems to fixed it at the time. And you know what happened now? Same thing happened.... I gave up, i went to another audio store, they told me that the cause is probably because the 320 amp is a two channel, so bridging it 2x brought it down to 1ohm. Of course I don't know if that is the actual cause, or if their fix will actually work, but my experience with this place (m&c) is nothing but bad.

The receiver had a couple of display lights that were out and I wanted to have the unit tuned up. I live in MA but have a place in Maine that is about 30 mins. from Portland so I took it there. I paid the diagnostic fee of $120 at the time I dropped it off and was told it'd be a few weeks which I was fine with. The few weeks had come and gone and I hadn't heard back, so I called and was told it hadn't been looked at yet, not a big deal. Not ready in November, not ready in December, not ready in January . . . every time I called it was like I was an annoyance to them. FINALLY "months" later I called and it was at last ready to be picked up. I got the unit back home, plugged it in and the display lights were STILL out. Are you kidding me ?!?! So I had to bring it back "again" after all that time. Not only that, but at the same time I had realized that they charged me full price for the repair, not taking into account the $120 fee that I had paid up front. Took it back for a second time for repair, this time when I got it home the display lights worked and I was also credited the additional $120 dollars that I was charged in error. Fast forward a month or so after I got it back. Display lights stopped working AGAIN (WTF??). I can tap the glass and make them come back on sometimes but its obvious that the job wasn't performed correctly. I won't be taking it back for a 3rd round, sorry guys. I hear that they're nice people and all but I got the impression that they didn't care that much about my receiver (not high end enough probably) and that they don't care that much about the service end of their business unless its really big bucks for them. Every single time I turn on my receiver and the lights go out it makes me cringe. That's why I'm writing the review now sadly.

He thought it best to send someone to my house to look at the layout, and we agreed we would do it Saturday subject to the person's schedule. He told me he would get back to me later that day. He didn't call, so I called on Thursday, and he said he wasn't sure if the guy who was going to come over was available, but he would get back to me shortly. Well, here it is, Monday, and I am still awaiting the call. Not used to this type of poor service. Perhaps he sensed that my price point was not high end enough for them, although I never mentioned a budget and was and am prepared to pay quite a bit to get a great system.
