The location is well-secured, and I was glad to see they use a 7 digit passcode, not a 4 digit one, which is much less secure. The units were sturdy and clean. The manager, Jimmie, is incredibly helpful and friendly. He responded promptly to email inquiries, and we met him in person when we were cleaning out our unit. We brought us ice-cold water on a hot day, and also offered to help us move some of the larger items. I cannot recommend them highly enough, it's a very friendly, well-run local business.

Past management was aloof, dismissive of their own promos that they couldn't/wouldn't honor, hiding behind corporate 'rules' that basically let them off the hook for providing good service. Tim has reversed all that and actually, eagerly, wants to provide great customer service. And he goes the extra mile to do so with a can-do attitude and a friendly smile. In Santa Fe, one has endless storage offerings on practically any street corner. Genuine customer service and keeping the place clean - honoring the promos - are what customers want. Thanks to Tim, UMini is far better today than just a short while back to achieving that obvious truth.

First, I got lost, and the lovely man at 875 SM helped guide me to the right address. Then, Samantha at 900 San Mateo went so out of her way to help me cancel my rental at her location and get me what I needed at the Rodeo Road location. There, Dee also went out of her way (and calmed me down, as this whole thing has been so whacky) to help me, explain how things worked, took me directly to the locker, and like Samantha and the gentleman at the first location, was kindness and helpfulness personified. Negative: Company policy appears to to be taking advantage of Customer. They quote one rate online. They do not mention additional fees until Customers go to pick out a unit to rent. Another unfavorable practice is that the Customer is told the the rental rates will increase within 3 to 6 mo. When one asks for the reasoning, one is told: The Computer does the up charge & staff cannot change this. I found this reason to be ridiculous & damaging to Customers who usually have budgets that they need to stick to. This is how I see Extra Space Storage's policy = Dishonest.

Being in the process of moving from hot humid Houston to beautiful Santa Fe, but unsure of the areas, we needed to find a clean, safe and secure self storage facility that we could trust for our belongings while we finish closing on our Santa Fe home. We contacted Bill Fenstermaker, the store manager of Extra Space Storage Rodeo Park Drive East. Bill, along with his Assistant Store Manager, Carolina Montoya, made us feel welcome and accommodated as they explained how they could help us, offered us money saving specials, and were friendly, caring and efficient to help ease the burden of an always expensive, time consuming, and many times frustrating moving process. The storage facility is SUPER CLEAN, brightly lit, climate controlled, energy environmentally friendly, safe and secure. A really great feature are the enclosed and secure indoor vehicle parking bays with automatic glass doors, that allows customers to safely move and retrieve items out of the wind and weather. Each unit number assigned is four digits, but only the last two are on the actual locker, and the first two designate the block the unit is on in order of the facility being purchased. Yeah, I know.
