Had a very short experience here. Not pleasant, though I appreciate the honesty I received from an employee: Walked in, perused for a moment. Despite the red carpet leading through the door, no other customers were in the store on a Saturday afternoon. Employee came over and asked what I was looking for. I needed a blazer, as I was in town for a wedding and had forgotten mine when packing. I told him. His response: "Ahh, a blazer. Well, how about we look at suits? A handsome man like you should get matching pants. I've got some over here starting around $800." *gestures to rack* Me: "No I've got pants. Just need the blazer. And that's outside my price range." Him: "We have lovely Italian suits of all kinds that you will love." Me: "No I just need the blazer." Him: "What do you want to spend?" I told him. Then he let me know they didn't have anything that would work for me because (he says) everything in the store was fine Italian (read other reviewers' reviews to learn more on this) and too pricy. He recommended a few other stores nearby. I'm not offended by this - I truly appreciate the honesty. I'd rather neither of us waste our time. That said, the sales approach is odd. Without knowing my price range, my size/what was available in my size, or color/pattern I was looking for, the gentleman started pushing a specific suit on me.....which, not to belabor the point, wasn't addressing my clearly-stated need for a blazer. I felt like I wasn't being listened to - which generally doesn't motivate a buyer. Hopefully this is not normal. I was here once and this was my experience, though. This store is a ripoff!!! Currently they are going out of business (i'm not even sure if that's true or not) so they have all these "fine Italian suits" for sale. The guy Avi is a real hustler and very aggressive salesman - you might have walked in trying to look at a belt and he's trying to get you to buy a suit. Here's why you should't buy from this store - 1) the suits don't even say where they are manufactured (i.e. made in italy or china etc). That's suspicious 2) I bought cufflinks there for 50 bucks (apparently they retail for "150 or 200"). Guess what? I found them on amazon for new for 12.99!! 3) One of the shirts I bought was called Joseph Bach - that brand doesn't even exist! The only time I found it was on ebay for a used shirt for SIX DOLLARS. Hardly a premium italian shirt? I actually bought a suit, cufflinks and shirt from him but after I found out I was ripped off, I actually went back the next day and confronted him in the middle of the store with his customers in plain sight asking for my money back and showing him proof that he ripped me off. I (luckiliy) was able to get a refund back so I'm happy but their policy is supposed to be final sale so buyer beware!!! Fist of all this is the most unusual store in New York if you are looking for fine Italian clothes at serious discounts (like 75%). Sure you can go to Bergdorfs and Saks and see the same current merchandise but why would you pay full retail when you could pay half that? On two levels, this store has both men's and women's Italian fabulous clothing. Lots of cashmere. And their inventory is unbelievable. Regardless of your size they are deep with our styles. Brands like Armani, Bruno Cucinelli, Versaci and my favorite Jacob Cohen jeans. I can tell. this is a beautiful vest, its loro piana" You: "thanks, I would just like to look at shoes thank you" Guy: "you have very fine taste. this vest is perfect for what you are looking for. it is reversible" You: "thanks but I'm actually not looking at vests, I'm looking for shoes. Also it is clearly not reversible, I don't know why you would say that, anyone with eyes can see that is not" Guy: "yes very nice. originally $3,800, we give you special price of $1,800" You: "ok well I'm not interested in buying a vest. I have stated repeatedly that I'm looking for shoes. also those numbers don't sound right and tag says some random name not loro piana" Guy: "I can't do any better than $1,800, but for you I can do $1,700. you are very handsome. High-end clothing stores are a dime a dozen in major metropolitan cities. High-end clothing stores with character are a rarity. I happened into this Riflessi location on a rainy/snowy night in a real bind. I needed to be 5th-ave sharp on a Kentucky budget. It was my first visit to NYC, I'd come ill-prepared for the formal event I was being honored at, and with 30-mintues til show-time I started looking around the area for something in my price range. I was greeted by Eitan and Imad, the dynamic duo of Riflessi NYC. They showed me around the store, regaled me with the history, and showed me some damn fine suits. Eitan showed me the perfect suit, shirt, and shoe combo. I was in love. However, the price was exactly double of what I had in my bank account. We squabbled back and forth, but couldn't really come to an agreeable price. A lightbulb clicked in his head and he found me another shoe/shirt combo and discounted the hell out of the suit (They're moving locations, everything was discounted), resulting in an outfit that was handsome, supreme quality, and most of all: in my budget. Now, this tapped me out completely (I had my fingers crossed to pay for a taxi to the bus stop home!), but I was able to replace my original dilapidated suit and really feel good for this event. Tailoring done my Ms. Alice ON THE SPOT in 30 mins! Right before closing! What I'm playing at is, he really didn't HAVE to do what he did. Malcom Forbes said "You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him." I don't live in the city, it's not like I can just come by and shop his store with each paycheck. One former military man to another, he really came through and helped a fella in need. I can't tell you how important it is to me to spend my money with a shop that has character. Moving forward, I will purchase all of my suits from Eitan at Riflessi. I don't care about the absurd sales tax rate in NY, I don't care if I can find it cheaper elsewhere. His integrity and compassion have earned my business, and that of my associates, for a long time to come. read more

KEPT CHANGING WORDS, DON'T KNOW THEIR STUFF, BS I was looking into a coat for women. The selection was very limited and the sizes were crazy. I found this oversized coat I liked. The tag said retail $1000 and it was discounted for $658 (the sign in front of the store said clearance sales of 60%). I kept comparing it to the Marc Jacobs coat I had, which was made of wool + cashmere and it was around that price. This coat has the name that was unheard of, and the material was cheap wool with fur lining on the collar. This sales lady who was helping me said it was def not a real fur or else it SHOULD BE A LOT MORE EXPENSIVE. So I brought it down to the cashier to see if they could lower the price. I would have gotten it if it were like $450-$500 because 1. no name 2. not real fur according to the sales lady 3. wool was cheap. The manager (I believe) said they can't lower the price because he said "I got it for $1600 retail" (even though tag said $1000 retail) so he couldn't go lower. Then he said the lining is also real fur (rabbit). So I asked him to show me the tag because the tag didn't mention any fur. The sales lady then changed her word that it's *definitely* real fur. Riflessi has good prices on fine Italian clothing, however, their attention to detail awful. On consecutive visits, they completely messed up tailoring detail and shipping information. If you visit Riflessi, my recommendation is to go in knowing what you need, and walk out with only what you want. Do not allow them to tailor or ship your clothing because there's a good chance you will not receive what you purchased. read more

This store sells counterfeit items! Pictures! Be aware! So I came into this store with one thing in mind, Jacob Cohen jeans. This was the only store I could find online that sold these jeans in nyc. I came here only looking for the limited editions jeans, meaning they have a number engraved on the patch (patch is top right on the back). If a model is limited edition, it's supposed to only have one of each number and that number is unique to that pair of jeans. For example, "1 through 173" meaning there are only 173 of these jeans in the world. However, its important to know that different models of limited editions can have the same number, but not the same number on the same model. This information is easily obtainable online, and I only wear JC jeans myself, so this was known to me. The first thing i noticed when the employee showed me the jeans was that that every single one of the limited editions that they had for sale was number one (001 of 23 or 24)(number one is written as 001). I thought it was odd at the time and now looking back knowing they sell fakes, its highly unlikely to have that a store has that many first editions as they are the most desirable. Iv never seen one myself in person, only a few online. The second thing which pretty much was the thing that gave away that the JC jeans were fake. The store had several of the first edition (001 of 23) of the same model. This is not supposed to be possible because as previously explained the limited edition jeans only have one of each number on the same model. In short, the store had two of the same jeans, which is only supposed to be one of in the world. I asked the employee about this, and he completely dodged the question. After I noticed this, I checked the stitching and compared it to my JC jeans, which I was wearing at the time. The stitching was off several places, and I even tried the jeans on to feel how the jeans felt. They felt like horrible quality and were nothing like my own pair of JC jeans. I took pictures of the numbers to show that the jeans were counterfeit. (check bottom) I left the store immediately after. This was such a surreal experience, and I couldn't believe that a store in this location would be selling fakes. Designer stores such as Gucci and Dior were right down the street. I was completely weirded out by the whole situation. Now I can't say that everything that the store sells is counterfeit, because I don't know anything about the other brands they sold, and I didn't really look at the other items since I was only interested in buying Jacob Cohen. Merchandise without labels makes comparisons impossible. Prices fluctuate without boundaries. A leather jacket I tried on was "$500", an hour later, with my wife there, it was "$700.00". I'm not sure if I got a deal or not but as a woman I saved on alterations on two pairs of fairly fine 100% wool pants and Mohammad took a huge amount of time getting the fit right. I have slim hips for my waist and men's pants fit me better. So I thought I would try Riflessi. Between the salesman and Mohammad they spent a couple of hours finding me the right type and fit. I'm happy with my pants. Are they are bargain? I doubt it but they took care of all the alterations and I like the pants. I think they made up the loss, if there was one, on the Bruno Cucinelli belt I bought which I think is probably bogus. It looks great and is beautiful but I doubt Bruno would use such a cheap buckle, which this one is. I paid $150 for the belt, after bargaining the price down somewhat. As I said, I'm happy with my purchases. I don't know if it was a good value or not. I know fabrics and I do feel that many of the pants and suits are made with fine Italian fabrics. The name brand ones may be seconds or something like that because my tailor here has seen some of the jackets we bought in the past and he felt the tailoring was poor on some of them. Were they authentic Zegna or Armani or seconds? I don't know. If you know fabrics and styles it's worth looking here. Just be careful. read more

I was in Manhattan on business and between meetings, looked down and noticed that the cuff to my suit pants had somehow come loose over the course of a busy day. I walked into the first store on the street, which turned out to be Riflessi (at their old location on West 57th Street). A gentleman named Eitan took care of me, had my pants hemmed at no charge, and showed me a number of beautiful jackets and ties which I returned to purchase later that week. All-in-all, Eitan and his team were absolute life savers and have some of the nicest options I've been able to find in the city. read more
