Live up to the hype. Provided there is hype. There should for sure be hype. I'm three sandwiches in and will continue adding to the list. Riera's Special is my favorite so far. Classic Italian, great bread, great meats, great fixins, and most importantly, strong meat to sandwich ratio. The sausage is... intense. Proceed with cautious, and I'd say only if you LOVE sausage. I only like sausage and this sub came with a lot. Pastrami Cold Sub. Man. Riera's makes a good Pastrami. I'd personally create my own, I found this get-up and quite saucy with the slaw and mustard and whatever else was in there. But that meat is mouth watering. Get it lads and lassies. read more

Went here because an Instagram @anniesneed suggested it. Totally the best Italian sub I have had in decades. Went home and looked at the rest of the menu. Will be back to try the Cubano and Nonna's meat ball sandy. Great to support a local non franchised eatery. Love, love love. read more

We had just watched a Food Network show featuring the best sandwiches in LA. Many were out in the Valley or downtown LA. Instead we ordered a Riera's Italian Special which was unbelievable in the quality of the ingredients including the meats, bread and their special sauce. It brought back memories in Chicago of their amazing sandwiches. We have also tried their meatball sub and Italian sausage and pepper sandwich. All the staff are courteous, helpful and efficient whenever we order take out. Riera's is our go-to place in the South Bay for amazing subs and sandwiches. read more

Enjoyed the sandwich very much, but just wished coleslaw had been an option for the sandwich. The flavors were excellent , but a bit too salty with the combination of mustard & pickles combined. The coleslaw would have reduced the saltiness. The pizza was good, & we enjoyed our lunch while visiting Torrance, CA. It was a great trip all together !! read more

I'm back with another Riera's review so yesterday me and my best friend were doordashing we had a pick up at Riera's so instantly every time that I go in there my mind is on that pastrami pizzabut today something else caught my eye. I saw bread pudding and I asked if it was bread pudding and he hits me with "oh yea it's our banana chocolate chip bread puddingthat was literally my face. I was like say less bag it up let me grab my wallet. Let me tell you run don't walk not only is it delicious not too sweet and moist but you get like this caramel topping. Definitely a 10/10 whoever made that bread pudding sweet baby Jesus please keep it around. And before I forget not only is this place delicious I love the vibe in that place they are always playing great music and everybody is very welcoming. Great customer service every single time. In an effort to have a picnic at the beach, my girlfriend and I found this place where they had sandwiches and salads for take out. My girlfriend ordered a turkey club sandwich on a French baguette with mayonnaise, avocado, tomato, lettuce and red onions. I got a ham and cheese sandwich and decided to try their Italian spread that was in place of mustard. Its a good sandwich, but the spread was a little strong and tough to enjoy the sandwich. I would go back again but would get it without the spread. Not something I would get again. We also shared a chopped antipasto salad that was very good and would get again for next time. It was new place but they had a lot of good choices on the menu. Anyone who supports the dodgers is worth having my support too. ;-) read more

Got a breakfast sandwich and slice of pizza for lunch. Sandwich was awesome. Nice thick slices of bacon, scrambled egg, cheese, and crispy, buttery toast - everything you want a breakfast sandwich to be. Plenty filling as well. The pizza, was kind of underwhelming after the sandwich tbh. I love square slices of pizza for some reason, so this already started ahead but something about it just didn't do it for me. I dont know if it was the thin amount of cheese, the bread, or the sad toppings. It wasn't terrible but given the choice between the two, I would pick the sandwich every time. read more

So I've been watching this place on YELP for quite awhile and finally decided to give it a try and boy am I glad we did! This place is legit delish and will be our new go to sandwich shop! We ordered the pastrami, Cuban and the chicken soup. All 3 fantastic! The pork in the Cuban is phenomenal ... We've already chosen what we want to try next! I've had this deli on my list for sometime. I was in the area and I ordered the hot pastrami. I wanted to try it after reading that they make their own pastrami. I took the sandwich to go and I was looking forward to trying it. They cut the sandwich in half and I could see that amount of pastrami isn't what I would expect from a deli. The sandwich is on a crunchyroll With pickles and mustard. The amount of pastrami is not enough to out flavor the pickles and mustard. The deli is in a small strip mall so parking can get filled up. I'll go by next time and try some other menu items. read more

Review based on takeout. LOved the unique oblong-shaped pizza. I think it's the best on the menu so far. (I do want to come back and try the seafood though.) The ingredients tasted fresh and the crust was tender too. Too often, I find pizza crust hard or chewy. We also tried the in house pastrami. It's good but if you don't like pickles or are sensitive to salty food, highly recommend you request easy on the pickles or 'No pickles please.' This is coming from a person with a preference for salt! Highly recommend trying this new place out. read more

New spot... I'm there! Bookmarked this place when it popped up as Hot & New and finally got to try it the other day. Called it in as we were driving there. Service is friendly and super prompt. We ordered the cubana and pastrami sub and was told it would be ready in 10 and indeed it was! Walked in, paid and received our food. Food was nice and hot! Both subs were packed with flavor. Meats were cooked nicely and both subs had a decent amount of pickles which I was digging! We just wished the bread was toasted a little longer so it would have a crunch but other than that it was solid! Reading a lot of reviews regarding their pizza, we will definitely be back to try! read more

Amazing customer service and high quality flavorful ingredients. Do be aware however, the do illegally charge a credit card surcharge of 3.5%. Why is it illegal you may ask? As of 7/1/24 California Civil Code 1748.1(a) prohibits any surcharges on credit cards. They are permitted to discount off the posted menu prices for cash, but may not surcharge on the posted menu prices. If you don't mind surcharges, this place is better than any other sandwich place I have found. Never found anything else more flavorful or with higher quality than here. read more

We tried Riera's place for the first time today and really enjoyed it! First off, the customer service and friendliness when I called was top notch and our food was ready to go when I picked it up! We ordered the La Cubana, TriTip Dip, Hot Pastrami, and Riera's special sandwiches. We also tried the Ahi Poke and Ceviche. All the food was pretty good but our favorites were the Cuban sandwich, Tri-Tip (delicious yummy au jus, a little on the salty side but flavor was spot on) and our young son really enjoyed the Riera's special. Doesn't really pop when you drive by, but I'll tell you what... There is a reason why you see a line outside of this place every day around lunch. Their sandwiches and their specialty dishes available to buy on their own are FIRE. The back story for this place is great starting off with the family's history around the pier and seafood, moving to a smaller shop, and selling sandwiches and other items. So eating a sandwich here is like enjoying some of the history of Redondo/Hermosa area. I would recommend the Cubano or the Meatball sub, both of which can be a tad messy but very worth it. Not too much to be overbearing, but more than enough to fill the average person up. Priced a little on the higher end, but the quality of the food and the service make up for the difference. Also, a huge shout out to the staff! Top-notch gents who won't steer you in the wrong direction. read more

Unfortunately, we were disappointed in some of the food that we had so anxiously wanted to dine on again. Usually, we stick with the sandwiches, but this time we tried the Hawaiian Style Ahi Poke. We bought a pound's worth at $22/lb and struggled to finish it since it was overly sweet. It tasted more like a sugary dessert. We realize Hawaiian poke tends to be sweeter than the Japanese Shoyu poke, but this was way too sweet to enjoy raw fish. If your tastebuds lean towards savory, I would not recommend this poke version. On the other hand, the Cubano sandwiches were very good. Thumbs up on the bread too. Friendly staff. We'd come by more often if it was opened on Sundays! read more

The food here is outstanding. I've had the tri-tip sandwich, the Riera's special, the prosciutto di Parma sandwich, the poke, the ceviche. It's all so damn good. I keep coming back to the house roasted Turkey though, so much better than store bought deli Turkey. Like thanksgiving quality Turkey on a sandwich. The bread they use on the subs is also top notch and always fresh. Build your own Turkey sandwich + a small poke to snack on later is my go to.
