We have rented a condo with Ridge Realty in Maui. The condo is in great location and the condo has everything that you could think of. Nice beach chairs and even a picnic set. The condo is clean and Terry even has a box of chocolate to welcome us. I have rented from other management company but Terry's condo is most warm and welcoming as it has tea, coffee and all the things that you did not realize that you need. We spent 2 weeks in a condo at The Ridge in Kapalua and LOVED IT! The views and amenities were top notch and worth every penny. We had a 2 story, 2 bedroom, 3 bath unit that worked perfectly for our family of 5. All 3 kids (ages 23, 20 and 18) shared the second bedroom (queen + bunks) and didn't mind at all. The 3rd bathroom really helped. This is our new favorite place in Maui, we highly recommend Kapalua and The Ridge. It's incredibly beautiful, quiet and clean. We loved that we could walk to everything: golf, beach, restaurants, grocery, tennis. We went to Lahaina and on a few excursions but honestly, the best part of the vacation was being in Kapalua and having a great condo to enjoy it. We found Ridge Realty to be super friendly and responsive. No hesitation giving them the highest rating as well. All around, an excellent experience! read more

I tried to book a condo with Ridge Realty Rentals LLC, at 250 per night for seven days on the VRBO site, VRBO sent Ridge Realty Rentals LLC the 24f hour response booking request. After not hearing back from Ridge Realty Rentals LLC for 23 hours, I called them and asked the office manager if they have a property in Lahaina, HI, she said NO, I then told her that Ridge Realty Rentals LLC is listed as the agent on VRBO, and I'm waiting for a confirmation for the condo. At that point, she said they DO have a property there, but none that are available...She went on and on about how she doesn't have time to update the website, da da da...and kept talking over me, very disrespectful and poor customer service. I will NEVER rent from Ridge Realty Rentals LLC. and I hope YOU DON'T make the mistake of doing so, very deceptive. Very disappointed with Ridge Realty Rentals LLC, and VRBO too! read more

We booked unit 1614 for our wedding. The listing advertised it as "Gold" level remodel with A/C. When we arrived, we learned there was ONE window unit in the bedroom in a high up window and the place was sweltering. There were cobwebs with dead fruit flies in the kitchen window and the bedding on the bed was old and dingy. Nothing like the listing photos. The best part was, arriving back after dinner out and turning on a light to find a 2inch long cockroach in the bathroom. Yes, we are in the tropics and I have been here multiple times, but typically that stuff is handled before guests arrive to see it. We immediately checked back out, didn't stay one night due to bugs and lack of air conditioning and called first thing in the morning to discuss and still have not heard back anything about even a partial refund due to inaccurate portrayal of listing on websites. Beware of minimal AC, bugs and a company that doesn't follow up. read more

We have been renting condos at The Ridge from Ridge Realty since the early 90's. Some years it has been twice a year. Needless to say, by now Terry and Diane know what type of unit we prefer and always guide us in the right direction in helping us make our decision. They go out of their way to accommodate any special requests that we may have, but honestly, the units we stay in are so well appointed, not much extra is needed. We have always found them kind, friendly and professional and we highly recommend Ridge Realty. read more

Follow-up to our prior review. First, I'd like to point out we have received a full refund for the rental of this unit. As far as I'm concerned my goal has been met. However, I refute the content of the response from Ridge Realty for the following reasons: 1. The pictures of the black mold were taken after a minimal cleaning attempt was made. We confronted Ridge Realty and they indicated the owners unwillingness to do deep cleaning was the issue. They also said the type of blinds contributed to the problem. We have shown the pictures to several health care professionals and they have confirmed our findings of the black mold. Our goal when we reached out to the Hawaii Dept. of Health was to provide guidance to them on how to properly address and resolve the mold issues as it was apparent they were lacking the ability to resolve this issue in this unit. 2. We've also have reached out to the Dept. of Health Vector Control and Ridge Realty has not provided access to them to conduct a thorough investigation for bed bugs. I would think a company that boasts of many years of experience would be cooperative in this area. I spoke with Lenny from Vector Control and he indicated he was informed by Ridge Reality that a deep cleaning had been performed. He asked if they normally do this type of clearing and the response was no, "deep cleaning is only performed when the owners are due to arrive". Also, I asked them (Ridge Realty) in person to please let us know what the owners reply was to the mattress being turned upside down and the brownish red spots that were found on the pillow top. They never got back to us nor did they respond to our follow up text. If the spots on the mattress were from bed bug residue, we needed to know so we could treat our suitcases and clothing. I simple phone call could have avoided a lot of this nonsense. 3. Ridge Realty offered to refund our first night's stay since we had an event on the south side of the island. We did not ask them for this they volunteered it which was nice of them to do. We just wish they would have been this responsive in getting back to us to resolve the black mold and bed bug issue. We have numerous pictures, emails, and text messages that support our position. 4. It is apparent their response is nothing more than them trying to make themselves look good regarding a poor situation and lack of engagement. Again a simple phone call and or responding to our followup text messages could have avoided a lot of this nonsense. Prior to receiving the refund I opened a complaint with the State of Hawaii Dept. of Commerce and Consumer Affairs. I spoke with Ryan Yamashiro would be investigating, and told him we had received a refund. He indicated we could still move forward with the complaint because he would take the position the unit may have been misrepresented to the consumer. He was concerned with the description of the villa using the terms "luxury, ....rivals even the finest of spas". Based upon the pictures, texts and e-mails included in our complaint he felt the evidence may have a conflict with the description. We elected not to move forward with the complaint but the complaint will be in an inactive status with no further action at this time. He suggest we update our "Yelp" review and inform consumers of the assistance the Dept. of Commerce and Consumer Affairs can provide. I hope others never have to experience the disgust and aggravation We had to endure. Hopefully Ridge Realty will take a proactive approach in their dealing with the public. Luckily, the consumer has resources such as BBB, Yelp, Dept. of Health, and Dept. of Commerce and Consumer Affairs for assistance to help resolve issues when they arise. Again, I have received a refund but it was with no communication it just suddenly showed up. I consider this matter closed. read more

You won't find more luxurious condos in Maui than The Ridge at Kapalua! With spectacular views, this property is meticulously maintained and polished. It's quiet and private, and feels very residential, yet close to great restaurants and beaches. We've stayed in a variety of units at The Ridge, from a single bedroom to the generously proportioned 3-bedroom condos, over the last 20 years and plan to keep going back as often as possible. We had the unfortunate experience of renting a villa in Kapalua from Ridge Realty Rentals. We found the unit not as described in the listing. The listing indicated the property had two heated pools and grills. When we arrived one pool area with barbecue grills was closed. The property management company indicated the one pool that was open with grills was not used on a regular basis. We found this not to be the case. We had to wait in line to use the grills. Upon check in we found the kitchen sink was clogged, ice and water dispenser leaked, and the clothes dryer seemed to have an obstruction that caused it to take forever to dry the clothes and it heated up the bathroom. This information was brought to the property management company with little or no concern from them. We later found black mold throughout the villa. Again we contacted the property management company with little or no concern from them. They did provide light cleaning but did not get rid of all the mold. We then found the mattress to be turned upside down in an attempt to hide bed bug remnants or mold on the mattress. Again we contacted the property management company and received no response from them. The next day we left and found other accommodations. We then stopped off at the property management office and expressed our disgust with the villa they rented to us. They indicated they knew nothing about the mattress but they are the ones who are over the cleaning of the villa. They blamed the owner of the villa for flipping the mattress and trying to hide the issue. They also blamed the owner for being unwilling to pay for the deep cleaning of the villa to keep mold and other issues from occurring. We asked to speak to the property owner as it is our position we should receive a refund as the unit was not in rentable condition. We have received no response from the owner or the property management company to settle this issue. We reached out to Hawaii's Dept. of Health Vector Control. They tried to gain access to the villa however, the property management company would not provide access and the owner as of June 13, 2018, has not returned their call to gain access. We would strongly advise not to do business with Ridge Realty Rentals or rent unit number 1915 at the Ridge. We have pictures of the black mold, mattress flipped upside down, and the stuff on the mattress. read more
