The customer service from Antonio nearly made me walk out of the store, but we were there to make a memory for our 1-year wedding anniversary (we met playing with RC cars at the beach). The two examples they had to try out in the store had poor responses to their controllers; Antonio informed us that they're broken. When I mentioned that that is not a great way to sell their products, he said he isn't going to change them out until they're completely useless because kids just keep messing them up. I responded that this isn't a good testament to their quality. He continued the conversation with a slight bitterness about how children play so I stopped; kids are the main reason for your source of income- you should probably be nicer (I did not say this to him though I wanted to). The quality overall was quite low (everything is plastic!) so we opted to build models instead. The girl who showed us that was enthusiastic and helpful. We spent over 150$ on our custom vehicles; I got cool skull accessories on my truck. This store is better if you want to throw a party than to leave with a toy that will last. There's cheaper RTR and kits with far better quality than this place carries. Ridemakerz was amazing fun! It was a complete build a bear but for RC cars. The variety and options were endless. My sons had so much fun and could not stop smiling the entire time. It was worth the entire 2 hours we spent picking, building, and testing. If you have a truck/car lover I highly recommend making this a stop. The few drawbacks I noticed, there is absolutely no way to get out the door for less than $100 and thats on the cheaper end. It was impossible to not get my kids the accessories they wants, the upgraded battery, the lifted chassis if it's a monster truck type, etc. In addition to cost, the cars are not the sturdiest cars for rough drivers. While my kids aren't crashing or wrecking them, they do donuts and drive hard. One of the cars we bought only lasted half a day until the wheel broke off. Very cool experience! We took my son here for his birthday because he's been talking about this place for over a year. You get to custom build a car by picking out the body, rims, wheels, accessories, etc. Just keep in mind that everything is an additional cost and these costs add up fast! After making his selections, we headed on over to the assembling area where someone helped walk him through putting the car together. This part was honestly really fun because he actually got to use tools to put his car together. The girl helping us was also so sweet. His RC car ended up costing around $130 with only the car, custom rims, custom wheels, an underglow light accessory, and the RC part with the batteries. The place is set up with great flow and it makes it easy to get around. Once my kid picked out the style, he had a great time picking out the accessories. The staff likes to use, Build-A-Bear to explain the concept which I think is funny because they can just explain it by simply saying that it's building custom RC cars! Simple enough. When we went on this Labor Day weekend, the store was empty at around 5pm on Saturday aside from two builders that had just finished building their rides. It's expensive so get ready to spend on ride customizations that start at $6.99. The male staff that was helping us was cool but if you're going to work in a place like this I think you need to come at the children with more gusto especially if your neighbor is Disneyland. Parking is not free even if you make a pretty decent sized purchase. Which in our case we did at RideMakerz. Trust me, Build-A-Bear circa 7 years ago (my boys were 3 back then) was cheaper even with the scents, voice recording, limited edition bears (Star Wars & Transformers), and clothes/accessories. read more

So glad I found this place again. It used to be in Downtown Disney and I was sad that it was closed. I didn't even know it moved to Anaheim Garden Walk. I miss the old store as I felt it was way bigger than the current one but I am glad it is back. I like coming here for my kids because you can customize your own ride. You can choose your style, tires, and rims. Then you get to really build your toy car and customize it more with decor or spoilers etc. Lots of combinations and endless possibilities. Plus with a Yelp check in you get an extra incentive! Service was good and friendly staff. We often take our boys to Disneyland, stay close by and make a weekend out of it. We stay in the same hotel every time we go because it has plenty of food options, stores and it's walking distance from the park. Well on this particular day, my wife was taking a long time to get ready, so I decided to take the boys somewhere to waste some time while she finished getting ready. I looked on Yelp and came across Ridemakerz which was less than a mile from our hotel. I packed the boys up and we headed out. Upon arrival, I told the boys I was taking them somewhere that was a surprise but once they saw the outside of the building they got excited and said they wanted to go there. The inside of the store was clean, organized and had a wide selection of vehicles you could choose from. The guy working there was super cool and informative. After the boys picked their cars, he helped them put them together the rest of the way. He was patient, funny and engaged with the boys from beginning to end. Lastly, once their cars were complete, he raced them with his car for about 20 mins. Overall, this was a great experience and I highly recommend it to anyone who has kids that love building cars, remote control cars or just cars in general. This is nice for the experience alone .. for the kids. But the product you're actually getting is super cheap.. specifically when you add the RC capability. A truck, RC upgrade, minor accessories (wheels, tires), and a rechargeable battery... $150. For that money you could buy a decent RC truck that's wayyyy more capable. Amazing service and experience here at this store. I took my partner here for a surprise for his birthday and he absolutely enjoyed the process of this experience. When we first got in, we were greeted by two individuals who helped us out and if there are any questions related to pricing or differences between certain modifications. Be able to choose the model and parts for the building process was fairly easy. The choices were easily presented and easily read to understand what you're choosing. The building process of the car was also fairly easy that a younger individual can build it themselves. They do a little competition where they see who can build the RC the fastest. Our guide told us that the fastest time was 14 seconds. After my partner finished building his car, the guide told him to come up with a name. There was a sticker placed on the packaging with the name and time it took to complete the building process. After we brought it to the counter to be processed for payment. The total for the car that was chosen was 120 due to the custom wheels and added modifications. They also offer three different categories of charging capabilities and depends on additional charges. The first option is primarily batteries, the second option allows you to have batteries and a chargeable cube that can be placed inside the vehicle, lastly, they have an option where they give you a pre-charge battery that lasts long. I unfortunately do not remember if the last option comes with a rechargeable battery, but I do know that the place provides you with more batteries than options one and two. all the experience was wonderful and I would definitely come back with other family members who are into building RC's. When you are checking out at the end, they do give you some options for packaging your RC. We went with option two which was a cardboard box for your creation. read more

what a delightful experience! came across ridemakerz through a yelp search. my 3 year old just started getting into remote controlled cars and i knew he would have a blast. i did read reviews prior to going so i knew it wouldn't be a cheap experience. upon walking in, i was impressed with the large variety of car bases to choose from. there are various types of vehicles from race cars, dump trucks, police cars, etc. once you've decided on your base, you can add various battery packs, accessories (lights, spoilers, engines, wheels, etc) - all of these cost extra on top of the base car. then, a ridemakerz representative comes and helps you and your child build the car. once your design is complete, you can set your creation off into one of their race tracks and see it come to life! definitely a fun trip, but because of the cost, its more of a "treat" destination. located in the garden walk so parking is easy breezy. read more

Took my son here for his 4th birthday. He loved it I loved it for him. He made himself a tow truck remote control, they told me if I purchased batteries, they would only last 45 minutes. So I bought them because I knew My Son wanted to play with the tow truck then before we left the store. So by December 20 I was back at the store because My Son's tow truck stopped working the store employee check the remote control and the tow truck. I explained to them that I changed the batteries and it still wouldn't work so they tested everything out and told me that it was one baby that wasn't good. Long story short but I told Me any battery I use in the vehicle it only last 45 minutes and I was like what do you mean to tell me any kind of batteries I buy it would only last 45 minutes and My Son's car he said yes so I spent over $100 on this car just for the batteries to last about 45 minutes. So I ended up buying their chargeable battery pack which he said I have to charge it for five hours just for it to last 45 minutes. This is just a rip off. TODDLER FRIENDLY ACTIVITY ! ! ! I found this place on TikTok and was a bit hesitant to take my 3 year old because it seems like most of the experiences posted were of adults, but this is literally like a build a bear for CARS and perfect for kids/toddlers. Our associate Aylin was so helpful and patient with us, especially since I was so inexperienced and clueless when it comes to stuff like this. She was extremely friendly and diligent with the process, and I appreciated how she went out of her way to show my son how to install everything and still let him do it himself. She never made us feel rushed or annoyed that he took forever to put the parts on and that made the entire process enjoyable and fun. We were immediately greeted by her when we walked in and informed that it would be a 6 step process which included the following-- - STEP 1 Choosing your body- There was a wide variety of different models and colors, I didn't see anything over $40. After exploring a wall full of different cars, a bright royal blue one caught my son's eye immediately & we were instructed to bring it to the first counter where he would then pick his chassis - STEP 2 Choose your chassis- This is where he picked whether he wanted it to be a car or a monster truck, which of course he opted for the monster truck upgrade. This is also where he picked whether he wanted it to be a model car or remote control car. We also had to pick the battery options. With the upgrades he chose (for it to be a remote control monster truck) it was around $70 more. Keep in mind there are different options for each upgrade I just chose what he wanted and a battery that he can recharge and play with repeatedly. There are other cheaper alternatives. - Step 3- Choose your rims Next, he chose his rims. There were stock rims and upgraded rims, and his monster truck needed more than 1 pack. He chose rims that were $10 more - Step 4 - Choose your wheels Same thing, there were stock wheels and upgraded wheels. He liked the stock wheels so we didn't have to pay for the extra upgrade. This was also when he chose extra accessories like the thingy to make it light up (sorry, I'm unfamiliar with proper terminology lol) & stickers ! All for an additional fee of course but nothing too crazy, it ranged between $3-$10 for each. Step 5- Build your ride This was the fun part where Aylin patiently explained to us the process and instructed us on how to do each step. From putting the wheels on, to inserting the body in, to putting in the batteries in etc. Never once rushed it or made me feel uncomfortable for being such a newb at this LOL. He was able to test it out on the track table they have available and his face lit up with such excitement and joy! Step 6- Customize your ride This was where the cashier helped us install the extra accessories and rang up our total. For his monster truck remote control car, the total came out to $123.90 after tax which was way cheaper than I had anticipated it would be. Overall, this was such an awesome experience! We tested it outside and even though it's tricky for his little fingers to maneuver, he is getting the hang of it quickly and loves every second of it.
