I went to Ride1 Powersports to see what kind of rims I can get for my Ryker. As I was walking through the store, I heard a very loud, angry woman, shouting over the intercom for parts to call 218? Not sure what that meant, but it was very offputting as I was trying to enjoy my experience walking around the store. I told them I was just going too pick it up and take it somewhere else and they hung up phone on me ... so when I picked it up I was told their technician just got back to the shop to work on stuff and they had a rack available for them to work on it .. already got lied to enough by them so I loaded it up and left .. so it's correct when when everyone tells you if you don't buy from them they won't work on it read more

Went in for a helmet and potentially a high visibility riding jacket. Spent about 30 minutes with Mr. John Kwan. He was very helpful in showing me several of the different helmets they had in my size. He was very patient and knowledgeable in answering all the questions I had about various helmets and jackets. Wish I could give 0 stars. I have a 2007 Goldwing and went to have work done on it. They won't touch it, they say it is too old and no one works on them anymore. Went to Honda of Troy and yes they do work on ones that old. The idiots at Ride 1 don't know what they are talking about. Also needed an air filter for my wife's 2006 Suzuki Burgman. They told her that they cannot get one and there are no aftermarket available. Called another dealer and they will have it in 3 to 5 days. A simple internet check shows lots of places to get it. Was giving them my business because they are close to me but they obviously don't want it. read more

Ive heard the stories about this place from some local friends of mine. I decided id go look for myself as I am in the market for a new toy. Upon entering i was greeted by the lady at the desk. They had a decent selection of machines on display in the show room. I browsed the machines, then the helmets, then the gear and accessories. Not one person came up to assist me with anything. After awhile i made it a point to start walking by the employees to see if anyone would ask if i needed any assistance or had any questions about anything. None of them said a word. I eventually asked a guy if i could talk to someone in sales. He said he would get someone. Never returned!! Go figure! I could understand if they were busy helping others but that wasn't the case. Nobody in the store was being helped! That is sad to say because i probably would have purchased an atv i seen there that i liked.(I purchased a used one the next day, and saved some money but would have preferred the new one from there). Overall, the lack of customer service was mind boggling. In my opinion don't waste your time. Shop somewhere you'll be treated like your business is appreciated! read more

I purchased an atv from there a couple of weeks ago. Wanted to trade it back in 4 days after purchase and got a really low offer. Spoke with the sales manager and had a discussion to where he said he would try to help me get more value out of my trade if i purchased another more expensive machine. I was considering it, but had already left a bad google review. He wanted me to take the review down. I was going to update it but he got impatient and posted a reply to my review. He made up blatant lies about what was said in our conversation so the review didn't look as bad. I thought they did bad business before our conversation. Now after the stunt he pulled i KNOW they do bad business. Read the reviews!They sell machines out the door that have issues with them. Then do whatever it takes to get out of making it right. Unfortunately our Insurance towed the bike to mid Ohio Harley... their service department is not open on sunday to service their clients however they'll sell you a bike. We paid the extra $$ and then we had it towed to Ride1 Phenomenal service we had a flat tire on a Harley on our vacation day 2 Normally they do not perform service request thankfully they made an exception and got us back on the road in a few hours. I stopped in today as I have seen this large dealer from the interstate many times in the past. My goal was to inquire about servicing my current motorcycle and purchasing a second motorcycle. I walked through the entire dealership and no one would acknowledge my presence. The parts counter people were talking among themselves as were the sales people sitting on motorcycles discussing their paychecks. Being in a similar business I certainly hope the owner sees this posting as I am sure he or she spends a fortune in getting customers through the door such as myself who can purchase today. read more

Strike 1: Salesperson was shifty. They did match the price I was getting from a Honda Dealer. That is what the one star is for. The first loss is based on the fact that he kept doing the "I'm cutting you a huge deal!" act. I regret buying the bike from them, but at that point I knew what I wanted so I just bought it. I was also set on a middleweight sport bike, and he was insistent on trying to sell me a larger cruiser? The guy's name was Barron. Strike 2: They delivered the wrong motorcycle to my house. No apology, nothing. Delayed receiving my bike 24 hrs. Strike 3: Finance manager gave my lender the wrong contact information. My first payment was late because of this. They were calling a phone number that wasn't mine. I reached out to the lender because I noticed a payment was never drafted from my account. The finance manager told me I was enrolled in autopay (it was a requirement for a lower rate). I sincerely regret buying a motorcycle from this company. read more

Brought in a bike for service. Just needed carbs cleaned and tuned, chain adjusted and oil changed. Brought the bike in on Monday and it wasn't until Friday when they discovered carbs had a couple of parts failing making it run rough. Couldn't believe it took a week to figure that out. So, I negotiated more time to stay in town while parts were supposed to be delivered Monday. Monday comes and by 2pm I am calling to check on progress but told they are not sure if the parts came in and said they would call right back. Wasn't until after 5pm when I finally get a call back saying parts didn't arrive and they wanted to keep it another day because parts would surely come next day. Didn't have time to wait another day with only promise of it maybe being ready again so told them I would pick up bike Tuesday morning because I had to leave the state to head back home. Being that we had a 9 hour drive in front of us, I didn't take the time to inspect bike as I should have when I picked up figuring it was all back as I brought it in and I just paid for services they did complete and left. Get home and unload bike only to find my seat was not bolted in and missing the 2 hex bolts to secure it. The plastic side panels that covered the seat bolts were not there and their bolts missing. Estimated cost $50 in parts that I was missing and had to replace. I should have known better considering a fellow rider I knew on a Goldwing that was serviced there for rear end damage many years previous had left with repaired bike to find that they didn't even hook up the wiring for his left rear turn signal but I was honestly hoping things had gotten better since then. But alas the sad reputation still holds true. read more

But poor lack of communication with his finance team I was unable to get an answer or a call back. after several days I was contacted that i might have an approval by that time i decided to take my business elsewhere. I took my 1996 Suzuki Intruder in to get fixed. It was running rich and fowling out the spark plugs. They told me, at first, that it "needed to be re-jetted"...which it has been. They had my bike for THREE YEARS!!! Before I took my bike there, it had 2 new carbs, a newer fuel tank, a new fuel pump, two new Avon tires, and new Dynatek 3000 computer. They still couldn't figure out why it was running too rich. While they had my bike, they "rebuilt" the carbs at least 3 times (supposedly), put a new fuel pump in, synced the carbs numerous times, they attempted to to reline my newer fuel tank (which had already been done previously) because my bike had been sitting there for so incredibly long and was still starting to rust. When I finally got my bike back...after THREE YEARS...the seat was broken and rigged back together, and the Avon tires I had on it were gone and replaced with cheap Dunlop tires. Also...my bike runs NO BETTER than it did before!!! THREE YEARS!!! and didn't even fix the problem at all. Horrible service department! read more

If you buy it from somebody like Amazon and it doesn't fit, you send it back at no charge and get a refund or maybe the right size. Their parts department is horrible. They were all standing around talking amongst themselves putting calls on hold. I ordered an outer clutch push rod for my bike and they said it would take 4-5 business days to get to me. It ended up taking a week and a half and when it finally did get In it was the wrong part. Very poor service department. This was my second try to receive good service and yet again I was failed. This last time we took my son's 50cc Kawasaki four wheeler for repair. We were promised pick up in one week. The part that was needed would be in the next day, which gave them almost an entire week to do max 30 min of repair. It was not ready for pick up a week later. In fact, the four wheeler was extremely dirty and had not even been touched. Took it home and fixed it outselfs. read more

This place is horrible, find somewhere else to buy. I have filed a formal complaint with the BBB. I purchased a Can Am from this place, and countless accessories, in excess of 40K. Thought I would say this because you would figure it to buy some sort of integrity... So on Saturday 12 October, I purchased a battery for my UTV. I installed it and it wouldn't turn over my Can Am. The resting voltage on the battery was 9.2V. I tried to charge it...no luck. So on Monday 14 October took it back, even called them in advance...they refused to honor the product. In fact, actually told me there were marks on the battery like it had been installed. WOW, no kidding, maybe because it was installed; assuming I was buying a good product from you!!! By the way, I even brought up the old battery just in case they would pull this crap...still nothing but attitude...So now I'm stuck with two bad batteries. Ride 1, you lost a customer over $100, when all you had to do is send it back warranty to the manufacture...amazing choice. read more

There are quite a few big Harley shops around the area but didn't go the Harley route for my first bike, so buying Harley accessories wouldn't be quite right, so the other choices in the area are pretty limited. Bought my first bike (v-star) about a month ago and needed some gloves, a half helmet for me and a helmet for my wife. A co-worker suggested checking out Competition Accessories since they have a great selection, glad we did! Took us about 35 minutes to get there from south Dayton but was worth the drive! We were a little overwhelmed with the selection, it's pretty huge inside but everything was well organized and laid out. The service we received was great, the girl who helped us was happy to get the sizes we needed and made sure we had the proper fit. She even mentioned that they had some new helmets in the back that weren't stocked yet that I might be interested in, she brought them out and it was what I was looking for. When we need anything motorcycle related in the future, we'll be sure to take a road trip to Competition Accessories! read more

My fiancee and I were leaving for a ride through southern OH, WVa and KY from Dayton. I just had a new tire installed on my bike by another dealership and the valve stem failed at 80 MPH on I-70. We didn't think we would find a dealer open on Sunday let alone one with a service department. These folks saved our vacation by fixing the valve stem, selling me a replacement tire at a great price and doing it all on a Sunday without an appointment. There are some great places that understand what it means to be have a passion for motorcyling and share it. Ride 1 has it! These guys are awesome! read more

I would give 0 stars if it was an option. Took my bike up there just a few months ago get motor mounts replaced. I also had an oil leak coming from around the secondary drive I wanted them to fix while they had motor out of frame. Well make a long story short I nothing but problems while the bike was there, had to take it back bc they dint know how to reconnect the PC3 back up to the FI and they tried to charge me for things they didn't even work on and now my bike leaking in the same spot even worse. I called and they told me their work is only warranted for 30 days, I guess they don't trust their technicians (parts changers) nor the work they do. I recently took my F6b in for new tires, new custom lights, new gear mechanism, new master cylinder per warranty, the work was amazing, the custom lights looked stock, the service department didn't gouge me with hours, the parts manager Tim was a great help, the mechanic was patient showing me what he exactly did. I read previous reviews and was actually surprised that my experience was so amazing! If you look at the reviews most are older, and it has changed hands. Not my first bad experience with this dealership/store. I called to confirm that they had the jacket that I was interested in - told them that I had to drive a hour and a half to get there. The girl on the phone didn't give me any confidence when she quoted me a price for the jacket. Got to the store that evening to find they had put the jacket back on the floor. The girl then retrieved the wrong jacket claiming it was the model I wanted. I showed her how to tell the difference. I then noticed the price was $40 more than she quoted! I asked to speak to a manager. The manager never apologized, told me that was the price and that he would get fired if he sold for less than a 5% discount (still much higher than same item on the internet - I told them I was trying to keep my business local), and then he walked away. Avoid this place like the plague! I have taken my motorcycle here twice for oil changes. The first time I went they did a 21 point inspection and said my brake fluid was dirty and needed replaced and also had to be put on a computer due to the ASB brakes. I have a Can Am Spyder RT Limited. They said the cost would be $330 for a flush and fill. I took my bike to another dealer and they said Ride 1 was full of @#%$. My brake fluid was fine. Just a few weeks ago I bring my bike in for another oil change and low and behold, they said I needed a head gasket replacement because there was some oil seepage. They quoted me nearly $1400.00 for the repair. Of course I take it elsewhere for a 2nd opinion and was told Ride 1 is full of @#$% and I should stop going there. I did have some oil seepage, but it was from the valve gasket not the head gasket. The cost to replace the valve gasket is $295 with labor at the other dealership. Ride 1 lied about the service needed and was going to charge me $1100.00 more than what was needed. Never again will I bring my bike here or step foot inside this ripoff of a dealership. read more

Went in on a Friday and was never greeted or acknowledged by any employee until was ready to walk out following 20 minutes of browsing. Two of them conversed amongst themselves loudly with eruptions of echoing laughter. Not a good conversation might I add! Talking about smoking pot in the parking lot followed by some other disturbing comments which included heroine. After that I couldn't get out fast enough. As I headed for the door wouldn't you know, the same employee that was too busy talking approached me. His name was Codi with an i. Gave him the low down and expressed my distaste in customer service. This guy had the audacity to say I never indicated I needed help. He then went on to tell me this was a family business in which his father owns. A business with no ethics and drug use? Such a waste of privilege this young man has. I was ready to drop 5k but will never step foot back in these doors. Consider getting better help! read more

they pull bait and switch on atv in the columbus location. they go by r1\ ohio motorcycle but claim competition accessories is the sister store. i went to get a 2104 honda atv they dont have any at store it must come from springfield along with paperwork.. after giving all the indformation and was approved for financing they shipped the bike to columbus store with the paperwork. when it arrived i noticed it was a 2013 and not a 2014 i asked for a 2014 they said it would be an additional $350 freight for the 2014. i wouldnt pay it. i think they were planing on doing the 2013 the whole time because they told me they have no 2014 in stock so it would be a few days to a week to get one there. if buying one is this hard i cant imagine how bad the rest of the service would of been. stay away!!!!! read more
