The following week arrived and unlike many other contractors I've dealt with Victor showed up on time, with everything he needed and ready to get some work done. Victor was fantastic, he too was polite and professional. He was also very patient and took the time to answer all of my questions while he worked. I was very curious about the whole process so there were a lot of questions he didn't need to answer but he still took the time to explain everything I wanted to know. I have not even used their service. First of all whomever answered the phone was basically screaming when I was trying to find out the cost of someone to come out and figure out what is wrong with my outside door light. He mentioned something about a fee to come and when I asked him what the fee was for he started yelling, "EVERY BUSINESS CHARGES THIS. THEY WOULD BE STUPID NOT TO. WHO IS GOING TO PAY FOR MILEAGE?" Wait what? I'm confused, I'm like listen I'm not arguing with you I need clarification on what's to be expected during the visit. So I let the gentleman - I use this loosely - ramble, thanked him and find an electrician who is coming out for a FREE ESTIMATE this weekend. So much for the upcharge. I first met Forest after I replaced an old plug in a house I bought with a GFI and it kept faulting. Forest serviced my home warranty, came out and quickly diagnosed that the microwave was illegally spliced into my clothes washer and was sorting into a metal hood, risking fire. I liked Forest's straightforward approach. A few months later when I was doing a multi room remodel, I needed electric corrected and new circuits added, an extensive punch list of work. I had a quote from another company but the price was over the top. Forest gave me a bid and actually pointed out things in my list that needed to change due to code and architecture. Having lost power at 1030 AM, I was finally connected to Riddle Electric via my home warranty service after 4 other companies who never returned a call (that was just the icing on the long day of issues!). I called Riddle immediately and was connected to Forest. Forest did some basic troubleshooting with me over the phone and I was able to text him some photos of my breaker panel. He was honest and straight forward that my main breaker was old and not manufactured anymore, which could have resulted in a 3 day job to replace the panel, he informed me he would call back in 30 minutes, he had to check if he had an old breaker. Exactly 30 minutes later Forest was calling me from the road with a breaker in hand and en-route. 30 minutes after he arrived we had power restored (3:15 pm) Forest also pointed out some issues that I will have remedied by tonight. The technician name was Victor. I have never seen such dishonest and non professional business with no ethics. My HMS insurance assigned Riddle Electric Service to fix the problem in my Electric panel and after the technician examine, he told me that one of the breakers was the wrong type and the Insurance won't cover it. He said that he has to check if he has the spare breaker in his Van, he came back after 5 min and told me he has to go out and buy it. He took over an hour and a half and came back with three old looking breaker then replaced them within 5 min and asked me to pay $190 for 1.5 hours of labor and 75 dollars for materials including the time he spent outside in total $265. The labor charge was wrong and he had to came back to correct it to $142.50. The total came to $217.50. Generally, they make me pay for the time he spent outside the job and high material cost than the market provides. When I checked the market price of Home depot for the "BR 120 circuit" breaker that he claimed he bought elsewhere is $5.30 which he claimed and charged me as $35 as well as two "BR 115" circuit breakers, which he charged me $40 even the most expensive one is 10.73 at Home depot which is a 10 min drive from my home. The technician told us he went to two different Home depot's and finally upon not finding a circuit breaker said he went to their warehouse. When we asked for the receipt of those purchases, we were told that since technicians do not go to commercial stores for stuff like this, they went to their supplier and there is no receipt for those purchases, which is absurd. I will never recommend this company to anyone. I am writing this review so no one else goes through this. read more

Riddle Electric came to repair a ceiling fan under my warranty contract. Nick was the technician and he was as nice and courteous as could be. He took his time and was able to determine the problem and to fix it!!! It was a pretty expensive fan and I thought it would require replacing. I was so impressed! While he was here, I asked him to look at a bathroom exhaust fan. I knew that I would pay outside of the warranty program for any repair to the exhaust fan but he said no problem he'd look at it. He did that and adjusted something and it's working!!! He did not charge anything for that service. This experience with Riddle was impressive and I will always request them for my electric services.
