This location was closest to my hotel so I am leaving a review for it, but more generally I just…read moreenjoy the coffee at any of The Coffee Academics locations around Hong Kong. Being a westerner and preferring my coffee iced, I was suprised by the depth of flavor that the standard vanilla iced latte achieves at this cafe. You might say it was the reprieve from the humidity and heat that led me to like it so much, but I had one pretty much every day for a week and each time I was equally pleased by my decision, regardless of which specific TCA location I got it at or how heat-exhausted I was. The atmosphere is definitely upscale for a cafe and the prices reflect that. But you get great, fast service and this particular location has ample seating if you want to stay a while and work or chat or escape the heat or rain. Maybe the locals aren't as into it but for a simple tourist, I'm grateful I chose to stop in. And I went back for more.

The Coffee Academics seems to be popping up around town…read more This is one of their newest location. Hidden away in a semi commercial residential area. It is more relax and chill than the Wanchai location I had been to on this trip. All Day Breakfast is the way to go and probably the best deal if you want to have a flat white and something to eat. For me, coffee though is the star. Piccolo Latte ($36+10% SC) is not something I would indulge myself daily at this price point. But the barista pulled a perfect shot and made beautiful latte art in this small glassware with nicely frothed milk.

The coffee here is pretty good, especially considering the location. The price is also a really good deal for Hong Kong. Lattes and cappuccinos here are only 25 hkd. Next time I'm at discovery park I will definitely come back here for a cup of coffee.

One of the best coffee shops in HK Island. Assuming you are in it for things like espressos,…read morecappuccinos, flat whites, etc. The coffee is great, the late art is great, the barista is super friendly. That, and unlike Omotesando, this is a proper, legit, HK style shop. It's hard to find. It's weirdly hidden, inside of another business (not telling), on the second floor of a random building (also not telling). The hours are not posted, and I assume are made up depending on how folks feel. Only one of two elevators in the building actually stops on this floor, and you get to figure out which one (still not telling). The door guy, lies to you, and tells you that there is no cafe at all. It's classic, legit, wonderful, slightly crazy, but still delightful Hong Kong. And, when you finally figure out where it is, and manage to make it there, you're rewarded with amazing coffee, and beautiful late art. You're still in Wan Chai, but life is suddenly better. Good luck, be brave, before they relocate.
