My friend suggested this place as she saw an online article for afternoon tea for two for HKD88…read more(about USD11). That's a great price, and I figure if even the food is awful, it's still not much more than two drinks. As others said, this place is somewhat a hidden gem. Its entrance is a narrow commercial building entrance on Nathan Road, right by Hillwood Road, closer to Jordan than TST. Located on the second floor, the big windows look out to verdant shades, totally blocking out the hustle and bustle outside. The price of afternoon tea has increased, but at HKD128, still a fair price if no longer a steal. We ordered flavored fresh-squeezed lemonades (or you can choose tea, coffee or soda), and our food arrived on a wooden board: two hamburger sliders, two salmon croissants, bacon wrapped asparagus, mac & cheese, BBQ fries and brownies. All is quite tasty except for the mac & cheese, which I find really bland. Applegreen bills itself as offering Californian cuisine. Their menu has lots of salad, and pasta ranging from carbonara to tequila lime chicken to mentaiko. There are also carne asado quesadilla, Jamaican chicken wings, jambalaya flatbread and more, just to show how international the menu is.

For Hong Kong, this restaurant is quite spacious. I've always been able to grab a seat every time I came in the afternoon. I've tried many different dishes here and usually it doesn't disappoint! What I like the most about Applegreen is that they're not just a salad house. They have a pretty wide array of dishes and drinks on the menu. But of course, if you want to eat "healthier", they have plenty of salads to choose from. Most of their salad has "half" servings, which is actually misleading. Their half portion is enough for 2-3 people if you order it with a second or third dish. Their "full" serving of the salad is humongous. Probably more suited for 3-5 people. Just be warned! Also as a tip, if you order salad you can request FREE banana bread to go with it. For their other dishes, they have your typical pastas, but what I like is their Flatbreads. Think of it as a very thin crust pizza. Quite tasty and large in portion. They also have some more unique items from their varying breakfast menu, such as honey glazed bacon, eggs benedict, or other experimental items. As for their drinks, most of their tea-juices have unlimited refill! Surprisingly an uncommon thing in Hong Kong. Applegreen is moderately priced. But for the portion and quality, its a pretty good deal. Its also conveniently located by the Jordan MTR station.

Great spot for some healthy lunchtime choices…read more Lunch deal was a bit pricier than normal, but featured some nice choices. Light salads through to small pasta and egg dishes, a broad selection. Service was friendly and attentive. Food came out fast, and in sequence. There was no hurry up at the end of the meal - the staff topped up my tea, encouraging me to linger. I had the soup of the day - mushroom - which was properly seasoned and tasted delicious. My main was the Prawn and Poached Egg Pasta on chilli oil linguine. A hit with me, and sized so that you don't feel bloated at the end of the meal. The lunch set included a choice of teas - just a teabag serving, topped up graciously by the staff. Happy to go back or recommend to others.

The service was quick and friendly. I ordered the eggs benedict with salmon and they came with toasted brioche instead of English muffins which although still tasted delicious was not quite the same. The scrambled eggs were stacked high so make sure you are hungry! I tried their vanilla hazelnut milkshake which was really good (not overly nutty) and they have a good mix of coffees and fresh juices on their menu.

We came on a weekday afternoon and our group of four only had to wait a few minutes for a table. They have a lunch set which includes drink, salad, soup, entree, and optional dessert. In fact, my father-in-law wanted to come back for lunch the next day! We convinced him we should use our time there to try out different places :) Whether you're vegetarian or not, come try this place out!

The place is a cute little restaurant on the 20th-something floor of a high-rise. Their lunch menu includes a 4-course set with salad, soup, a main course, and a dessert. Everything was delicious. The main courses included things like pad thai, pasta, Chinese mushrooms, and eggplant. One of the soup options was a pumpkin ginger soup that was amazing. They had choices between Chinese food and Western food. For the lunch set, we got to pick our soups, entrees, and drinks, and the salad choice was set. Like most Chinese restaurants, they serve hot water to drink. The drinks were also delicious - I got some kind of lemon tea that was fantastic. Also, the bathrooms are luxurious with heated toilet seats... :)

This was a somewhat hip and trendy place with a lively atmosphere and a vibrant feel. Place was cool and we were ready to chill. They offer a large variety of cocktails - some traditional, some creative, some I've never seen before. A small selection of beers and wines were also available. The food offering was extensive and truly international (which Hong Kong is famous for). You can order pizzas, burgers, salads, Western favorites, curry, Thai, Korean, Chinese, and a fusion of all of the above. The menu includes appetizers, small plates (tapas) or full-size dinner entrees. We really liked the PEACH AND DUCK SALAD WITH VINEGAR which I think was quite original and the flavor of the peach complemented the smoked duck breast meat very well. The blend of exotic greens was tossed in a slightly sweet and mild "vinegar" (which we call vinaigrette in the US). It was topped with pine nuts and pomegranate seeds which made it the perfectly refreshing salad. The KOREAN STYLE BEEF was served with white rice and a fried egg. If you don't mind, let me tell you how you should eat this dish: Place the fried egg over the rice, break the egg and the yolk and mix it with the rice, then spoon the beef with plenty of gravy over the rice. It was SO delicious! The fried egg was the key to this dish. (If you like a fried egg with a gourmet burger, you'll probably know exactly what I mean.) We were also going to order a fusion type of beef rice noodle (chow fun) but at 9:30pm it was already sold out. We were told that it was a very popular dish. I am determined to get this the next time I visit Hong Kong. And if you happen to make it to Hong Kong before I do and happen to grab a bite of this dish, I would love to hear all about it! It was a very enjoyable meal and service was friendly and prompt. The only problem that I have is that we told our server that we ordered the salad and Korean beef to share, but both dishes were brought to us at the same time. So although they offered tapas, they lacked the sophistication of a true tapa place that would first serve the salad, time it, give it a pause, then serve the beef. Nevertheless, this is definitely a place that I'll revisit the next time I'm in Hong Kong.

I initially bookmarked this cafe because the interior looks absolutely beautiful, it is inside a flower shop, and it is a vegan cafe! Decided to walk over when it opens at 12pm today (Boxing Day), and got a seat right away. You have to scan your vaccination pass (aka blue code) upon arrival, and you order via QR code at the table (physical menu is also available upon request). It is very spacious inside with high ceiling, beautiful floral and green decors, and very friendly staff. We ordered the Cheese Fondue Lunch Set for 2, and it comes with a fruit x greens salad, and 2 drinks (you can order the free drinks or add a bit of money and get other drink items for this lunch set). The cheese fondue is obviously vegan, and because it is vegan cheese, it does get a bit clumpy, so be sure to stir, stir, stir to get the cheese more smooth before dipping. The set comes with 3 mini trays of food for dipping: baby corn, cherry tomato, broccoli, mushroom, potato wedge, tofu dumpstick, and toasted bread. For the drinks, we had a rose theme going on lol. I ordered the Rock Salt Rose Latte (you can select decaffeinated and the type of milk), and my partner got a pot of the Rose & Osmanthus Tea. It was a lovely lunch :) I can't wait to come back again to try the Chinese desserts!

It was subtly spicy and gave it a good kick. My only qualm was that the noodle quickly absorbed the soup, so it got thicker and thicker as I ate. I went with the black truffle soup with mushrooms. Definitely made no mistake there. It was so, so good. Super flavorful with bits of mushroom. My dining companions definitely loved it too. I wouldn't mind more of it...actually that sounds pretty good right about now. Price: $78 for the lunch special, so quite reasonable for fresh, good quality, and large portions Friends tried the all-day breakfast and vegetarian burger, and they all liked their food too. Repeat? Yes!
