I went on a Saturday during lunchtime, and I was blown away with the crazy amounts of people coming in. Service was absolutely amazing. Every worker was super friendly. The line moved fast with the number of workers they have. The first bite of the rice and beans was heaven. It brought me back to my grandmother's cooking. They have so many choices of authentic Puerto Rican food. This place is 2 hours away from my house but I guarantee you I'll be coming here quite often. They have seating but like I said first come first serve. Get in here before any rush hours and you'll be ok. They have a great amount of breads as well as Spanish pastries. The amount of food you get for what you pay is crazy. I ordered rice and lentils, with red beans, and roasted pork. It was literally enough for lunch and dinner or two people. This was dine in, not sure how much you get for takeout. Smart me I ordered my kids there own meal which had to be taken home as well. This is a definite go-to spot for Puerto Rican food. The location isn't in the best of towns, but everyone there was friendly and there to chow down.

Saw this place one day when I was driving down Broadway in Chicopee one day. (it is front of…read moreMillie's Pierogis) I decided to stop in and give it a taste. Upon entering- you notice most how clean everything looks. This is awesome because us Latinos/as eat with our eyes. At first when I came I thought it was Puerto Rican food. Then I saw the Chivo (goat) on the menu board and heard the calming bachata music on the tv on the wall and I thought to ask the owner if this was Dominican food. It turns out it is Dominican food with a touch of Puerto Rican dishes! The best of both worlds! Additionally- the food is not set up cafeteria style like a lot of Spanish restaurants- The food is under heat lamps behind the counter. For some people that's off putting because they assume it's not fresh or tastes like it is has been sitting under the lamps for days - not so! Everything is fresh and amazing! They have all the classics; yellow rice and gandules, white rice, habichuelas rosada, pernil, baked chicken. They have quite a few of guisadas (stews) to pick from all loaded with onions, peppers etc; chicken, pork, beef, oxtail, as well as viandes. They have empanadas, alcapurrias, sorrullitos de maiz, rellenos de papa (potato balls) in a smaller case. My favorite is the goat aka the Chivo. It is so fall apart tender -I've had it three times already! The young gentleman behind the counter has always waited on me. He is super polite, quick to smile and humors my bad Spanglish with none of the pretentious ways that I have experienced in other Spanish restaurants. This is really important to me because it tells me of the love that they have for their food and the respect that they have for their customers. I've come in on different times of day and the food is always fresh tasting. Prices are very reasonable for the portions. During this last visit my husband had their pasteles. Oh so good! They also had sancocho. - I've asked the owners and they said that their business is steadily picking up. They are working on getting money for advertising. Most of their traffic comes from word of mouth There is another Spanish restaurant in Chicopee that has a similar name-(Sabor Latino) -but I very much feel that the cooking style are night and day. No insult is meant to Sabor as they really are two different types of food in my humble opinion. I really hope this small business owner is able to make it. Latino(a) restaurants turn over a lot in Western Mass. I hope this one stays!

With the sauce they came with adding an extra punch of flavor. There were an assortment of meats including multiple types of cuts of beef, chicken, pork and also fish and shrimp. For the food I ate beef ribs, chicken legs, ground beef, beef stew, and chicken rice. I also had plantains and these potato balls stuffed with chicken, the pork should was good but a bit to salty for my liking. Everything else was phenomenal. The dessert included a flan, coconut flan, compote, these three were great with the flan being the best. The salad/fruit bar featured an overwhelming amount of options, and was a great way to end the meal. My critiques are the lack of hand sanitizer in the restaurant, especially for a buffet, and the plastic utensils, with no spoon or knife given. Other than that check this place out you will love it.

But this yr we tried again for dinner, after our visit to a popular store we decided to try again here, and the experience was so much better with fresh food coming out all the time, the place was buzzing with people and good laughter and the food was yummy. We were very surprised with the staff singing someone a very cheerful happy birthday. Very Nice Thank you and we will see you next year again .

My sister told me to try this place for the "bacalao con verduras" which is a plate we grew up on…read moregrowing up. It's salted cod fish with starchy root vegetables like yucca, malanga (taro) and boiled green bananas (not plantains). I'll admit it's an acquired taste. Los Bravos is a small restaurant with a modest amount of seating, very tight parking and a very friendly staff. Food is on display in a hot cafeteria style setting. Very clean. You can see into kitchen too and it was clean. Muy importante! There were a few families eating inside and their eye catching plates came fresh out of the kitchen stacked high and with care. They were out of the 'bacalao guisado' that I wanted so I had to settle for a cold cod salad style. It was still tasty. The medium plate cost $8 and was a very generous serving. Knowing from experience how much work it is to peel those tough starchy vegetables and how much they cost, I think it was a great value. It was certainly enough to share or save for a second meal. Another hot box had the "frituras" which are all of our fried goodies. I bought a "relleno de papa" which is a soft ball size fried mashed potato ball, filled with seasoned ground beef. It was good. Perhaps a tiny tiny bit over salted but negligible and seemingly made of the instant potatoes which is not that uncommon. My dad used the instant at his restaurant 'back in the day' only because the potato balls seem to stay together better during frying. There was a cold box where flan and other desserts were on display along with the cold salads of octopus "pulpo", the cod fish and escabeche. The cashier gave me their card and told me about the different kind of sandwiches and mofongo they offer. She also told me that anything could be called in ahead to be ready for pick up. Open 7 days a week. Oh, please don't worry about a language barrier. I speak Spanish but until the cashiers English was perfect. All the Puerto Rican special soda and drinks were available. I'm giving Los Bravos 3 stars until I try other items on the menu. I definitely want to return and try some of their other dishes and also have a hunch that I may need to bump it up a star----but for me that will depend on the rice and roast pork! Buen provecho!

All their choices are visible to you at the counter, so you can basically point to what you want if their is a language barrier. I chose Spanish pork along with rice and beans. Pork was a little dry and not very flavorful as i have been accustomed to in the past with Spanish pork. Rice and beans were average. I should warn others who may try this place that the oversize jars that they keep on table, which are full of garlic, peppers, oil, is very spicy. I was having a heck of time getting oil to come out of jar, and decided to take stopper out and pour oil on top of pork. " Two bottles of water please, to go"
