I was starving marvin during lunch today. A contractor was working on my home, so I couldn't go out to grab a bite, so I decided to order in. I found this place and ordered some drinks--coconut water and a Monster, a Pernil Combo, and also a Chuleta combo. I took a bite from both, and it hit all the right notes. I recommend this place if you're hungry because I certainly was, and the food was good. Give it a try and enjoy. Thanks read more

Been getting alcapurrias, carne fritas, sweet plantains, etc here for years. A nice smaller place that's not very large with some tables inside to eat there if you wish. The service is always good, I suggest using the app to order your food ahead of time. Especially if you want things that take time to prepare. The only large negative is the food is not always fresh, or hot. One visit it's perfect and the next it almost cold. Unfortunately, for me consistency is very important. Nevertheless try El Morro out, it's worth a stop! read more

We had some food. Going to be honest we had bought some Alcapurrias... they were not fresh. read more

The boss of this restaurant is very rude, very obnoxious, and disrespectful to his employees. As they were plating my food I saw two cockroaches on the wall next to the food, absolutely disgusting The manger favors certain people, and nasty to others and the workers barely care about the job, I spend almost $15 on a plate with barely any food in it. Please do not waist your time here it's absolutely a 0 for me read more

I absolutely love this lil gem in Springfield. Food continues to be great authentic Puerto Rican food. My only complaint is that since the business owners have opened their new spot on Boston rd, the customer service when calling in any orders have completely declined. On several occasions myself or coworkers have called and worker has gotten attitude, rushing on the phone to the point of telling us to call back when the order is correct when it's them not understanding. Or even just not picking up the phone, or leaving it off the hook so it's busy. I love supporting small local businesses but I don't want to b treated rudely. Mr./Mrs. owners.... talk to your girls bc u kno customer service is everything. N I kno these owners have worked hard to have a good reputation. So let's get it together read more

The food here is always hot, fresh and the staff is friendly. I am particular fond of their empanadas and other quick bites. Their roasted pork shoulder is bananas. They have a good rotating menu and are always eager to Explain menu items. read more

Very tasty food. Nice staff. And excellent service. I eat her very often and the quality of the food never falters.

Went last Saturday morning for breakfast. There was a used band-aid in my sandwich, I chewed on it... The owner was apologetic, but that doesn't change the fact that their practices are a real threat for public safety. read more

I wanted LUNCH and there is no lunch menu. Girl said the smallest meal is medium for $9.59. This place needs to learn to cater to the community. Learn from Chinese restaurants, they have LUNCH menus! I have to add, the young girl here could care less that she was losing a customer. Maybe she should of tried to sell me a snack. read more

I am new to the area and didn't want to cook this Christmas so I went and picked up everything from pernil with rice and beans, pasteles, papas rellenas to flan and more. The portions are too small for the price they're charging. The manager is rude and obnoxious. Very arrogant thinks he's better then anyone else. I've warned my friends and they've warned their friends not to go there if they don't want to be treated like second class citizens. Get rid of management, because you're going to lose a lot of business. Besides they alienate any other nationality that goes there. if you look around you don't see any other people that aren't Hispanic. Why do you suppose that is? Because they're not welcomed. Authentic! Flavorful! What more can you ask for! By far my favorite restaurant in Western Mass! No hay nada como una comida criolla!

Completely disappointed- this spot was once my go to.. I ordered white rice with beans and stewed chicken. No problem right? Well I'm told there is no beans as she is ringing me up- mind you I see a lady go to the back and bring out beans in a small cup for the gentleman BEHIND me- I get into my car and look at my plate and there is literally bones from the thigh (no meat) and some bones from a leg (no meat) and maybe 3 small pieces of meat tops! I've never supervised them making my plate before- I did not think to do so MY LAST time there- charged me $12+ for rice and 3 bites of chicken- oh yeah the bones too- will not ever go back and will always discourage new/old business. read more

Location: SPFLD MA, easy to spot Customer Service: Slow Taste: Average Presentation of food: Very pleasing to the eyes Portions: Very small portions for your dollar Cleanliness of the establishment: Very clean Affordability: Under 13 USD Extras: Ample parking Ambience: Sit in restaurant, not loud. Do I recommend you go there? Yes Good food but, very small portions for your dollar and service is not consistently friendly. A large portion is really a medium in other similar establishments. When ordering food make sure to clarify the part of the meat you are requesting or you will get bony portions. read more

It was okay, had one of the meat pie things, the meat was good but not the dough/crust, hot sauce was extra which I've never come across before. The service was prompt and courteous and they have plenty of parking, easy in and easy out. read more

Came here for business purposes.....insurance inspection for the landlord's policy. I look at quite a few restaurants, but this time I was treated to a plate of typical Puerto Rican rice & beans with roasted pork shoulder. First let me say this: kitchen, food storage, preparation areas were very clean. This is family operated, but employs several nice, polite people. The owner Luis works HARD for this success. NOW THE FOOD..........best I have EVER ate outside of a private residence, and, I have had the privilege to dine with some very talented Puerto Rican cooks. A friend used to live close by and always said good things about El Morro. Now I know for myself. Will be back. Love & GB. Louis read more

I order rice beans and pernil my pernil was super dry and the morcilla was burn and hard.

This is the best Spanish spot in Springfield. The service, the food is outstanding. I have never gotten a bad plate from this place. I have had them cater and the amount of food and the flavor was great. Thank you for your services keep doing what your doing! read more

My office Christmas party is where I was introduced to El Morro yellow Spanish rice and peas. The food was excellent, so I decided to stop by the establishment today for lunch. Parking lot full and long lines show signs of a good business and good food. However, I ordered the medium plate yellow rice, pinto beans, and chicken in the garlic sauce & the food was so salty I became nauseous driving back to work. The food is tasty but way too salty. I'm not sure if it's the typical flavor, but it didn't settle with me well. I ate all the rice but I couldn't finish the chicken. I'm still on the search for a place to cater my house warming/ engagement party. read more

I love their food !! Freshly made to order but I hate the customer service ! The women that work their have to manners and are very unprofessional !! I called today and they had me on hold for 10 min !!! Talkin Spanish and laughing in the background ! Then I called back three times and didn't get an answer very disappointed ! Ruined my day because I was hungry and I felt like is was ignored and I go there atleast twice a week !! Defiantly need to talk to the manager because they need way better staff that knows a thing or two about customer service smh !! Food is really good here but they just don't give you enough. The customer service is subpar but the food makes it worth it.

Went to this establishment a few months ago at lunchtime. There was along line and after waiting in line for about 10/15 minutes, I notice a gentleman from behind the counter walk up to certain people in line and taking their orders ahead of others. Then I realize all the people he is calling out of the line are all well dressed, business suits etc.... I ended up leaving. Never went back again. My time and money should be just as valuable as those dressed in nice clothing. read more

This place has one of the best Puerto Rican food. The service is great and very friendly. It feels like family dinner.

The only good thing about this place was the service. Rice was rubbery and salty, the pork fried chunks were also a bit salty and greasy.

The food is awesome! Great friendly staff. My all time favorite is arroz blanco con bacalao guisado! Yumm! Yuca Alcapurrias are heaven sent! The pork and white rice with beans are excellent! read more

This place is way over priced. I was very disappointed. The food was ok. The servers were also not very attentive; they assumed I wanted take-out and threw my food in a few containers, brown bagged it, and rang me up. read more

I have been here twice in one week and OMG I LOVE IT. Great Puerto Rican food and great service.

I visited Springfield this summer for a short vaca and decided to look online for good places to eat when I came across this restaurant, which had good reviews on more than just this site. I was excited! Unfortunately, where I live, PR food is a rarity - other than my own - so I don't get to enjoy some of the foods I love (but are too laborious to make myself) as often as I'd like - like alcapurrias! Alcapurrias (and pasteles) are by far my favorite PR foods and I will jump at ever opportunity to have them (I know, I'm obsessed...don't judge me). I went in at about 3:30pm and was pleased to find it wasn't packed as a lot of reviewers have noted (avoid the lunch hours, if possible). I ordered a large to-go plate of white rice, red beans, pollo asado (sorry, don't know how to translate it) and OF COURSE alcapurrias. With that, I got a free medium drink and paid only $13.35!! Wowzers! Not only did I get what I came for (yes, my beloved alcapurrias - which were great by the way), but I paid only $13, got a free drink AND had enough food to serve my son and I and still have leftovers! Oh, and did I say the food was great? Of course I did! I will definitely be back anytime I'm in the area! read more
