A must stop! We stopped in at 6 on a Friday had the best meal! Heath was our waiter and had the best recommendations! We had the crawfish beignets and they were AMAZING! Also, we got the shaved ribeye sandwich (with bacon, onions and mushrooms like Heath) and it was so good. I would describe it like an Arby's roast beef sandwich if they used high quality beef and ingredients. So tasty! Thank y'all for the great service and food. We will be back!

The kitchen messed up my food (a taco) so I sent it back to be remade. By the time it came out, my side (which I paid extra for) was cold, and my date was finished eating. We also asked for salt and pepper but also seasoning for his salmon because it tasted as if nothing was on it. When our bill came, over $70, I asked if anything could be done about my food being wrong, then very late (not even mentioning the bland food). The manager came over and immediately was confrontational asking what do I want done about it. I said whatever he thinks is right. He said they fixed my taco so everything should be good. (I never said I want my meal free or even discounted, I simply asked if he could do anything to make it right. I even said I didn't know how much my food even cost.) He was insistent he fixed the taco and we should be good not seeming to care about how long it took to get my food correctly. He eventually said he'd take the cost of my taco ($7.00) off our bill after repeatedly saying he fixed the taco. We are very disappointed. This is definitely not the treatment I would expected from such a wonderful establishment like Rick's on the Square. I noticed the manager walking around and going outside the front door at least twice while we were there. When an order is messed, I would think the manager would want to, if at all possible, apologize and ensure the customer they are fixing it and getting it out correctly asap and appear to give a crap about how we are feeling about the situation. This manager absolutely did not give a crap about us. Incredibly disappointing.

My son's rehearsal dinner was held at Rick's on the Square this weekend. The room, food, and drinks were fabulous. Most of the guests enjoyed delicious prime rib which Rick's hand cuts onsite. Working with Rick and his staff was a great experience. They were very accommodating and helpful. Very nice and large venue for a rehearsal dinner. Thank you to the staff for making it such a wonderful evening.

Never again. We sat there for 30 minutes waiting for service. Three waiters and a hostess came by apologizing for not taking our order but still did not take our order. We only got water and when we tried to order they told us they couldn't take our food order, just drinks. We ordered shots and it took an additional 20 minutes. It was very disrespectful.

I have frequented Rick's several times. Today we stopped by for a mid-afternoon cocktail and dessert. The restaurant is always clean and staffed by pleasant employees. The bar appears to be well-stocked with spirits and a variety of beer choices. I have always enjoyed my food experiences at this restaurant. A free parking garage, located on Broadway Avenue, is a short walk from the establishment.

I wish I could give 0 stars. We waited for 30 minutes before anyone even came up to our table. We only wanted drinks. People just kept walking up to us and apologizing and telling us they would be with us in a minute. They weren't even busy as you can see. We never got a waiter, we never got a server. Completely ignored.

We found this on Yelp and I read good reviews so after the concert around 11 pm, we tried to find a place that is still open. This is one of those recommended by some elites, so we tried. I must say,. The reviews are spot on. We went there and noticed a band playing but you have 2 choices, either you go to the bar with a live band of which you have to pay for the cover charge or to a sit down dining place. And because we are starving, we preferred the dining room. The waiter recommended few dishes and we ended up ordering calamari and Red Fish stuffed with crab (unique to me) and topped with mushroom and some sauce. The calamari is good (we love it) and what I love most is the recommended redfish stuffed with crab and a side mushrooms and an interesting sauce kinda like teriyaki but not thick and not so sweet. I love it and I'm not sure if it's on the menu but that was the best meal I had. I made it four stars because I still have to get back to taste other food that they offer in the menu. But I love the fast service and the time of the waiter to recommend good food and explain what they have in the menu. I would recommend you to try this one. Although I'm not sure how they do in a peak time as we went there with not much people around because it's almost close to midnight. I will definitely go back to try other dishes once we visit Tyler again. By the way the place is so romantic especially at night. I think a very good place to celebrate anniversaries or a Valentine's Day date

Just exactly what can one say about a perfect meal?…read more First off, I'm ashamed I can't remember the name of this drink. It's a variation of an Old Fashioned. Bunny's "God of Fire." Sorry, had stop right there and look it up. It's double smoked Ironroot Prometheus bourbon, angostura & walnut bitters, and a toasted marshmallow. I don't know who thought this up, but I want to kiss them. It's a little smoky and a little sweet, but subtle. And the longer it sits, it gets almost a little creamy. Especially nibbling on the toasted marshmallow before and after. I tried both. Sublime, a little surreal. I feel like I need a long night drinking just these in slow deliberation. That might be a good hot summer night activity. The deviled eggs? Honestly, and maybe I should be ashamed of this, I can't remember if I've ever had deviled eggs with ham in the mix. Or for that matter, with Texas caviar. Like, what even have I been doing with my life? The Wagyu Tartare came with house okra relish on the corner of the plate, drops of fried egg mayo, these little tiny blue flowers called Borage blossoms, that I, a grown ass man, somehow much closer to 50 than I ever planned on, just got fucking giddy about. But, I tell you what, don't you dare scoop some of that Rosewood Ranch beef tartare onto one of those in house made sumac dusted kettle chips with a dab of that okra relish, take a bite, nibble that toasted marshmallow, and then sipped the Bunny's God Of Fire, and then tell me you didn't step thru a motherfuckin' looking glass of some kind. Softly surreal. Comforting. Sublime. Also, just FYI, you don't really appreciate the okra relish until you try it by itself. There is a crispness to it that is almost etheral. And then you feel like you understand the sensory play of texture and taste a little better. My entree was the 14oz Texas Akausi strip, with the hand cut fries, and horseradish mayo. Seasoned with high quality fine French sea salt and black pepper, pan seared in Wagyu tallow and basted with thyme, smashed garlic clove, and butter, before finishing in the oven and sitting in a container of melted Waygu tallow before resting on the cutting board and being sliced. Read that again, slowly. It sounds like a night in bed with Jane Mansfield. I don't know how else to describe. Why yes, the fries are amazing. Of course they are. Everything is amazing here. I feel silly, like I'm just on here hyping one of my favorite people and food spots, but Oh My God, have you even been here? Everything is great. But if I'm being honest. For true true. That softly medium rare Akausi with a dab of that horseradish mayo, another sip of Bunny's Fire Of God. It's a sensuous experience. For dessert, I got the chocolate mousse, and the homie got the First Amendment Lemon Pound Cake, which Lance McWhorter came up with in honor of Afroman winning his case against "The Man." As if I needed anymore reason to love him. The chocolate mousse, I'm afraid I could eat this by the tub. Like, I brought home half my steak and fries I was so full. Wouldn't have even thought about dessert had I been anywhere else. I damn near licked the bowl clean at the table like a dog. Just embarrassing. That glob of white stuff, are super cheesy grits. I'll post some pics of food we got to see as it was prepared later, but, I will say, yes, it was delicious. Especially on the fries. Honestly, I think I can make a meal of the eggs and tartare alone. And Bunny's Fire Of God. Absolutely stellar meal. But more than that. It's an experience. One I highly recommend. I'd give it a scale rating, but there's no scale for this. Not in these parts. This place is in a class all it's own. It's another beautiful day, East Texas. I hope you're enjoying it. #ztfu #sabaileyproject #iloveyouetx #writerfoodiegunguy #foodiesofetx #hippiebarbarian #foodiesofdallas #foodiesofig #easttexas #tylertx

There's plenty of nice local establishments, but some can be pricey and some are just more casual than you want. Scott Williams has perfected the restaurants of Tyler that are balanced between affordable and still quite nice. He got his toes in the water with FDs, before expanding into Javi's, Twelve, and now the fanciest of them all in III Palms. I thought of all those options, Twelve would be the most unique and tasty for my girlfriend and I. We went in an hour before they closed on a Sunday and were seated immediately. We weren't too hungry so we didn't expect to be there past their closing time, and we were ready to go. Our waiter was quick and attentive, bringing us water and helping us decide on drinks from the bar and our order. He also showed us their insane over-the-top whiskey menu. If you like whiskey, give Twelve a shot I guess. To order, I just got their 'Osaka Style' Pressed Roll while my girlfriend got a Sushi Bowl Salad. We got Sweet Potato Fries to share. As for drinks, I started with their Monkey See, Monkey Do, an impressive and firm beverage, while my girlfriend ordered their Destin Dream, a fun Pina Colada-like drink. It wasn't long before our food came out. The sushi was beautifully plated with some wasabi and pickled ginger on the side. I destroyed all the rolls. They were all very fresh and very high quality, which was remarkable for their $13.50 price tag. My girlfriend's sushi bowl looked insane. She ate most of it, but I filled the gaps and devoured the rest of it. The sweet potato fries were crispy and heavenly like all sweet potato fries usually are. I felt adventurous and I got a second drink of their Rose Garden, which was simple but flavorful. Compared to FDs, the menu might be a little more sea-inspired and more adventurous, but I think it leads to better, more unique food, especially with offerings like Oyster Rockefeller and a sushi bar. I also know Twelve does a great brunch as well, so keep that on your radar. Ultimately, as the bill came, the price was very manageable even with the alcohol. It's nice that you don't fully have to break the bank to have a nice meal in Tyler thanks to places like Twelve. I rate it a 12/10. Get it? hahahaha... RIYL: A slightly adventurous, but affordable night out.

They found seating for our large group, and we had one of the most attentive, personable, and organized servers I've ever experienced. I wish I had gotten his name because he deserves all the recognition. We had four generations of family represented, and somehow he kept everyone's drink orders, straight, even the refills. He made sure every order was correct despite special requests and substitutions. He timed the appetizers and entrées perfectly, so no one was awkwardly waiting for their food, and he split all of our checks quickly and accurately. On top of all that, he managed to make friendly conversation and kept everyone in a celebratory mood the entire time. He was genuinely impressive. Our appetizer which was a long platter could not be sat in the middle due to uneven tables. But even before that I sat my tea glass and spilled the entire glass . The waiter who was present came back and only partially cleaned it up and didn't replace our napkins which we had used to hold back the tea. My son had to go get napkins to clean his side of the table and a puddle of tea was still on the floor when we left. My tilapia for the first time had a fishy taste and mine and my wife's matchsticks vegetables were very sour for the first time. I did not eat mine.
