To be clear, this review is about the Customer Service received from BARBARA, not the actual dry cleaning quality itself. I have never dealt with such an inappropriate, rude, and disresepectful woman in my life. I took my wife's wedding dress to Rick's to have it cleaned...a $2,000 dress. They ripped off flowers from the dress and refused to repair or refund my money. Apparently, all the Rick's Cleaners in the Austin area only have one CSR, and that is Barbara. She refuses to allow you to speak to anyone else and just repeats "there is nothing I will do for you. The dress was clean, and that's all we claim to do". Fine. If you aren't going to do anything about, I can't make you. BUT you can at least treat your customers with respect, instead of having a horrible attitude behind everything you say. What kind of company treats customers like that? I cannot say enough about what a horrible experience I have had with her. Apparently this location does well enough that the customers do not usually have to deal with customer service, but beware if you do. You will deal with a woman that has no care or concern with where you are coming from, and certainly does not care about upholding the character of the company through good customer service. read more

Incredibly rude. Never in my life have I encountered such poor customer service. It was my first time going to Ricks, I had cash since I only had one garment, the sales lady appeared off out rolled her eyes. Apparently $20 is too large of a bill even though this isn't posted anywhere. After snapping she said she would run my card since it was my first time. I stated next time I'll be sure to bring smaller bills. Her response: or maybe just bring more than one thing next time (in a very condescending tone). I will never return again no matter how inexpensive this place is, I'd rather pay 15$ than be talked down to by a cashier. read more

In the 14 years that I have been wearing a suit to work every day and taking my dress shirts to the dry cleaners all over this great country of ours, Rick's Dry Cleaners is by far the worst. I sent 14 shirts there for "laundry" and every single one came back with a burn mark, wrinkle, and / or stain from the iron. I have been going to Rick's for years in other locations. The Cleaner in Georgetown is horrible. The store is dirty, the staff is very unqualified and they have ruined shirts of my husbands, and missing buttons. This was my first time going to Rick's. I took 2 very nice old holiday tablecloths. Then came the Christmas tree skirt. Not to get too graphic, but our cat was ill at the time. I was told how much the tree skirt would be, but was not charged at the time. The lady at the counter gave me my claim ticket, but said she wanted to see if there was anything to be done, since the stitching is so delicate, before taking any money. In all the places I have lived, I can't remember anyone being so thoughtful and considerate and honest about the job. Reasonable prices, friendly staff, and quality work means I don't have to take a chance on any other cleaner here in town! read more

I am shocked by the other low reviews. We've taken work clothes (suits, slacks, dresses, dress shirts) to Rick's for several years now. First to the Jollyville location and now to the Georgetown location and I've never had an issue. The employees have always been friendly and my clothes have always been returned in perfect condition. Rick's has never lost any of my items, unlike another pricy, big name cleaner in town, and they definitely can't be beat when it comes to price. No complaints here. read more

I have been using Rick's for years and they have always had the best price for dry cleaning and laundering shirts that you can find anywhere. In the past there were a few minor problems; for example, pants sometimes had double creases. During the last two or three years Rick's has dramatically improved their quality control and their work is now consistently outstanding. While the actual work is done in Austin, they offer reliable service: one day for dry cleaning and two days for laundry. Another benefit is that Rhonda has been the manager for about a year. Rhonda and the people she has hired/trained give outstanding customer service. With great quality work, outstanding customer service and the best price, I strongly recommend Rick's in Georgetown. The best in town!! They always do a great job on my clothes. When I have a stain on something the ladies there make sure to point it out, if it comes back and the stain is still there they offer to redo it and get it done! I've been using them for a few years now and have been very pleased. I did have a time when clothes was not back on time but the manager called me the next day as soon as it arrived. I took my favorite sweater to this cleaner. It was a black one with a white collar. When I got it back, the white collar was almost black. I only noticed at home that the color had bled. I took it back the next day to ask what happened. The ladies at the front were rude, unapologetic and told that in the end it was my fault, because I had put the sweater in the laundry machine before. And.... to top it off, they had a smile on their faces as if it was all a joke. I was a customer that just had her favorite sweater ruined. And they made no attempt to ease my frustration at that moment. Needless to say I won't go back. read more

I am absolutely appalled by how horrible this place is. We dropped off clothing and were told for 3 days that the clothes weren't ready and to come back. Then they admitted to losing our clothes. Another customer in the store at the same time was also missing clothes. We called and asked multiple times what would be done about our clothing and were repeatedly hung up on. One girl even said we were threatening her and hung up when we asked if we needed to contact the corporate office. Finally, after over a week and getting corporate involved, we were told the clothes were found and ready. Half of the clothes, including a formal dress and suit, were horrible wrinkled and clearly uncleaned. One dress is still completely missing and they mixed in 3 dresses that don't even belong to me, so I'm sorry to whomever else they screwed over but I'm never going back there again. read more

DISAPPOINTMENT! Refunds are extremely difficult! There are no managers at their stores. The staff are cashiers only. If you are dissatisfied your garments will be sent to "the office" for review. The refund is not based on YOUR dissatisfaction. It's based on theirs. The owner of this chain seems unwilling to put competent, properly empowered people in place. All I went in for was to get my ties pressed. After 3 attempted and the same wrinkles as I started with the "owner's rep" contacted me. She said she would personally oversee the process and refund them if I was dissatisfied. Tonight after picking them up they are worse off then when I started and may be permanently ruined. After requesting a full refund I was told by the cashier I could only get 1/5 of the full refund. I will keep fighting to get my money back, but I don't have high hopes. I feel foolish for allowing them to save face so many times. It's just shameful. read more

Rick's Cleaners in Georgetown is absolutely fabulous, unbelievable service, laundry back in a little more than 24 hours always! This business is run exactly the way a business "should" work. They have coupons to keep large quantities of cleaning down to a very reasonable price. I don't even do my own laundry on pants, tops and shirts any longer. I just take it all to them, why not? I hate ironing! The best part is there is no smell to the clean clothes, because they use a green way to clean that is odor free. You can sign up for their coupons on their web site, but their regular prices are also very reasonable. This is truly the best cleaners I have ever been to in my entire life, and the best deal in town of any business here. I am serious when I state this! Rhonda the Manager at the branch I go to in Georgetown is wonderful to me, always attentive and very efficient. The young owner is delightful and takes this business seriously. He is there for his customers in a huge way, and it means more to me than I could "ever" say! We have never had a single item missing, or one come back, so far, without being totally satisfied with the results. We are so pleased with this wonderful business that I just happened to stumble across one day, while in the shopping center near the older Star Bucks in downtown, Georgetown. I did not even know who they were, they were brand new to town at the time, and what a treat! They are awesome, I go in with a smile on my face and come out with a bigger one! Update to review. I was totally surprised that the owner contacted me and asked me to bring my shirt back in. He kept in contact with me every step of the way until he determined they could not make my shirt white again. He then replaced the shirt. He also discussed with me the odor and stated that if it happens again return it right back and they will make it right. How unusual nowadays that a company cares to make things right with their customers. I will go back and give it a second chance. I truly appreciate good customer service. *I'vebeen going to this cleaners for 3+ years. Customer service is great but my white shirts have been coming back with a blue or yellow tint. I've asked how to remedy it and they didn't really have an answer. Also my clothes are very strong with solution smell. I had to air them out for a day. They stunkI took my shirts to a ridiculously expensive cleaners and they explained that the dry cleaning solution being used is too dirty . One Cleaning with them and my shirts are almost white. I was happy for my clothes but disappointed with Ricks. I use them every single month for all my work clothes. Now they are ruining them to save money by reusing dirty solution. read more

Great cleaners. None better in Georgetown. Have used them for many years and have had no complaints. I'm not one of those people who scavenges my dry cleaning looking for a minuscule stain somewhere, but I've never seen a flaw with the job they've done after all these years. they do have some turnover. they had one rude older darker lady who looked like she lasted a week there, but it very much seems that they've consistently had two ladies (one early 20's and one late 30's) who have both been kind, sharp, excellent, and quite capable of handling a seemingly non stop flow of people who are anxious to do business with them. they seem so popular that I wouldn't be surprised if they open a second Rick's in Georgetown (maybe on the west side) to handle all the success they've had here. read more

Oh boy, if I could give this place negative stars, I would. I took an expensive dress here to be dry cleaned. It took a few days (mostly since they are closed on Sunday). When I picked it up on Monday, I noticed they had put safety pins through the material and put holes in my dress! Now, this should never ever be the go to option for someone's clothes, but especially not when it has strings on the inside to hang it from a hanger!! I immediately took it back the next day and the manager of this specific store said she would send it back to main company. She also gave me the customer service phone number. I called them and spoke to the "manager" Barbara. She might be the most unprofessional person I've ever dealt with. She assured me once she received my dress either that day or the next she would call me. Never heard from here. I had to call her back. Her response was, "oh they redid it. The fabric went back together" Oh I'm sorry, didn't realize my dress was skin-like and would grow together after your business ripped holes in it. If you care about your clothing and about customer service when accidents happen, they don't come here!!!! read more

I hope their lives never depend on being able to properly press a woman's blazer. I wear a suit everyday and try incredibly hard to take care of them, considering the price-not only the suits but the cleaning. I have now used Ricks three times (in 8 years) and I once again have to take my suit to another cleaners to get properly pressed. The cuffs, the collars, the lapels....I don't even know WHAT they're doing to them. Everything comes back mishapen, pressed oddly and it has to be redone. Last time I try to save money. read more

I highly recommend Rick's Cleaners. The customer service is excellent and they care about the work that they do. They are friendly when you walk inside the door and the price is right ! If you find a button that is missing from your shirt from the work at the main station in Austin they will replace the button with no problem. When you leave them you feel satisfaction. I have been doing business at Rick's for over 10 years; the current staff of Rhonda, Lillian, Amber, and Lizzy are the best that I've seen since I began doing business at this location in 1999. They make each customer feel like they are important; they do the best job possible serving their customers, and they are very professional. Once they get computers and have a better system in place to process drop-offs and pickups they will be amazing (they are close). If you need extra rust stains on your shirts, bring'em to Rick's. They will tell you that you need to dryclean your machine washable shirts and then all that happens is a very poor job of cleaning. The solvent only rinses the oil and sweat onto the visible part of the collar resulting in a nasty ring. Go elsewhere. read more

We had used Rick's to launder shirts...cheap prices and marginal quality with payment in advance. My wife made the mistake of taking a set of custom draperies (expensive satin drapery fabric). Apparently Rick's employees did not know enough to dry clean them...it's obvious they were washed/laundered. They ruined the finish of the fabric and shrunk it as well. A few thousand bucks down the tubes!!! Corporate offices only wanted to email you a copy of the disclaimer they print on the back of your receipt. They won't acknowledge that the disclaimer doesn't address poor workmanship on their part or stupidity on the part of their staff. Unlike so many good companies I can name (Sewell car dealerships, Georgetown TV, ABC Home & Comml Svcs), Rick's does not stand behind their work and try to make it right. They only want to hide behind a nebulous disclaimer on the back of their receipt and cheat the customer out of their money. Don't let the cheap prices for you like they did us! read more
