The tech that came was only concerned with selling me a hot water heater, did nothing they said they would and had nothing to say about maintaining the boiler. I had a technician out to look at my system that was no longer working. They told me I needed to replace the furnace motor ($1000) and my entire system would need to be replaced ($10,000). I had another company and they said the motor tested fine and the system didn't need to be replaced any time soon. They replaced Freon and a part in the furnace for $240. The system works perfectly fine now. I recommend getting multiple opinions for other contractors. read more

Rick lied about a generator he installed on my house, saying it was my doing. This guy is a trip, he charged me $600 bucks for two circuit boards and told me lightning struck. Tried to say I was switching high voltage switches on Google that caused the generator not working. Also he didn't run an inch of gas lines, it was already at the spot. Saving these circuit boards to see if they are indeed defective. read more

I've been using this company for a while now. I've no complaints at all. They are professional, courteous and on time (or lets me know if they are running late, some jobs are unpredictable, right?). Last time my air went out, Rick explained what was wrong and gave me options on how it can be reapaired. I'm limping along with my old AC unit and will be using them for the (near) future replacement. I'd trust them for any repairs or installation. read more

I had rick install my central air conditioner about 10 years ago. In addition he has serviced my furnace numerous times without any issues. This year my ac needed a new capacitor. Rick came out, took a look at it and said he would order the part and comeback. After a week I called back and had to remind him of the problem and he said he would check on the part. After a second week of waiting I called again with the same response. I eventually called another company who came out the next day and replaced the part immediately. It is unfortunate that I had to have another company fix an air conditioner that rick's installed. read more

I called Rick due to my Lennox furnace not working in November 2020. I called him when he didn't show for his scheduled appointment. He said he was at a customer's site, he's running late and will be to my home shortly. Rick finally showed up, looked at my furnace and said a board was bad. Rick said the board would cost $850. I said I'm not paying $850 for a board that is $150 online, I checked. He then replied the can obtain a used board for about $650. When the expensive board was installed then Rick said another part costing $225 was faulty. Looks like he needed $850 really bad. I would NOT recommend this business to anyone. read more

Unfortunately We had to use Ricks Affordable Heating & Cool bc our home insurance company assigned him to us. Avoid him at all cost! Rick is very unreliable, several times he was a "no show" for appointments he scheduled. The 2 times he did show up, he didn't fix the problem and was then was supposed to come back & NEVER DID! Even after saying he had the part we needed he never installed it. I can't stress enough how TERRIBLE he is! DO NOT Hire Him!!! read more

So this guy flat out just tried to cheat my wife out of 150 dollars. We got sent to him through our Home Warranty Company. Our deductible was already paid through them. Did a great job getting our ac back up and running. Had a hard time scheduling them. They kept wanting to come late on fridays and wouldn't show. Also left without finishing the job. So we had to call customer support for two hours to finish the job. read more

A/C unit went out just before the July 4th and opened a service request with my home warranty company. It was assigned to Rick's. With the holiday I decided to be patient and wait until after the holiday week to call for my appointment as I had not been called yet by their office. My appointment was scheduled about week out from when I called which was fine considering the time of year. The day of my appointment Rick showed at 630 only to briefly look at my a/c unit and tell me he would be back the next day. The next day I asked Rick if he could give me an estimate of what time he would be out which went unanswered until almost of the end day in which he indicated he would not be out on Tuesday but would be probably make it out Wednesday. Wednesday the same thing. I asked for a time and never got a response. Thursday I tried calling/texting the office to find out when Rick would be out. No answer at the office. I reached out to Rick and finally got a response back that he was too busy to look at my unit. I am glad business is busy and hopefully that means your business is doing well financially but your busy schedule is not an excuse for not even coming back out to look at the unit. If the issue is your overbooked you probably should look at either taking on less cases and/or hiring additional help. If I could give 0 stars I would but alas google does not afford that option. If anyone was looking for a reference for a/c repair I would never recommend this company. Also I read in others feedback from that company that prioritize jobs with small children and elderly. From my experience this is not the case as I did mention that I have an 8 month old in the house and my a/c unit remains broke with this heat wave coming. read more

If I could place no stars I would. I have been dealing with rick for over a month and nothing has been resolved. He tells you daily your on the list today, and never shows up. They send out group text to all people on the so called "list" giving people who you do not know your phone number. I would not recommend to ever use Rick's affordable heating and cooling. We woke up this morning to a house that was 50 degrees. The neighbor down the street just had their furnace replaced by Rick and his team and had nothing but positive things to say. I called him at 7am and he was here in a few hours. He provided us with extreamly professional and honest service at a very good price. I would recommend him to all of my friends and family. Bought a Groupon for a furnace inspection and tune up. When the technician arrived he spent about 5 minuets looking at things. Said he needed to come back to get the job done. We scheduled him to come back in 2 day. He did not show up. I called and asked to reschedule the appointment. No one returned my phone call. Then a few days later my furnace started making very loud noises. We called again to ask for help. They recommended that we call someone else (even though we had a Groupon so therefore had basically already paid them). When we had another company come out to investigate the loud noises in the furnace it turned out to be the blower just needing some oil... something I am sure a furnace inspection and tune up would have covered. If they had good customer service and completed the job that I had paid for it would have saved me a lot of time, hassle, and money. read more

If I could give this a negative number I would. My daughters furnace was not functioning pproperly and per her home warranty she contacted Ricks Affordable Heating and Air. After several service calls and several unanswered calls Rick claimed the furnace was fixed. Today the furnace went out and several attempts were made to contact Rick with no answer. Due to the negative temperatures and a 4 month old baby in the hous they were forced to contact another company. The company responded promptly and the technician arrived in a timely fashion. He said the furnace was not fixed properly the first time and carbon monoxide gas was leaking in the house .... the outcome of this could have been horrific!!! Please please please do not use this company... I have also been made aware that every couple years he changes the company name.... why would you do that if you are a reputable company? read more

This place is horrible. We were sent to them through our home warranty. They scheduled an appointment for a 10am to noon window which I stayed home from work to be there for and they did not show. When the 2 hour arrival time they said they would be there between was up, I called the office. Without an appology they took my number and address and said they would page the tecnician to call me right away. 30 minutes later I had not recieved a return call so i called the office again, I explained that I took off work for this appointment and was going to head to work if no one was coming (at this time it was 12:30 pm). Again with no appology she took my number and address and said the tech would call me right away. I waited another half hour before leaving for work and calling back to tell her to page the technician not to bother. They have no sense of courtesy or respect for their client's time and I would never recommend anyone to waste their time with this unprofessional and diarespectful company. They don't deserve the 1 star I am forced to give them. read more

Two years ago I called Rick due to a broken furnace. He told me it was $600 but that my 13 year old furnace was shot and he would not charge me the repair if I bought a new unit. So I bought a nice unit with an 18 SEER air conditioner and two stage furnace. All with a 10 year warranty. Well during the actual heat of July the air conditioner stopped working Rick showed up a couple days late saying he had a heart attack. Maybe he did, but he told me my air conditioner had been either struck by lightning or a power surge and that it was shot. He told me it was not under warranty and that it cost $3,500. He said to turn it into my insurance company. I said no and he offered a warranty replacement but that it too 4-6 weeks. Well I kept calling him and he was coming the next week. I finally called the manufacturer and they said he was lying to me. So I called another company who indicated it was a bad capacitor and fixed it for $95 including labor. Not sure maybe the heart attack caused his mistake or maybe he sold my old furnace to someone else and decided to try the well once again. read more
