Both my wife's food and mine were cold when served. Our gravy was congealed, Our mashed potatoes were cold. Her turkey and my liver were cold and dry. My wife was served a pot of hot water without tea bag. My liver wasn't tender and definitely the worst in town. I ordered a second beer that never came. Slow service. An expensive meal with poor quality and service. This place has gone down hill and their prices up. read more

I'm giving Rickjo's 4 stars because I absolutely love their wings. That being said...the rest of their food is mediocre and on the pricey side now that they've tried to re-brand as a family venue rather than a sports bar. If you're going for wings, call ahead and ask what days and times they have their wing special on. It's much better value than the wings platter. They have like 8 or more types of wings that you can order, including the traditional Hot, Medium, Mild, Honey Garlic, Spicy Thai, and a few others I can't remember. My personal favourite is the mild, but I order them extra saucy and breaded. A word to the wise: The booths at the front aren't spacious. If you are a bigger person I'd suggest sitting at a regular table. It's entertaining to see people try to squeeze themselves in there, so you might want to sit at a table and face the front! :P read more

Located in the back of the Freshco plaza off Bunting. The beer was cold - typical selection of Canadian drafts - was hoping for something a little different but settled for a Keiths. Wing special on Thursday doesn't start until 9 pm which was depressing. Had the ribs and wings combo. Ribs okay but nothing special. Smoked beer an chipotle sauce tasted like any other generic bbq sauce. Wings mid sized to smaller but nicely cooked. I had unbreaded with Cajun rub. Didn't hold the rub well so not particularly spicy. Dining partners had shrimp special. A generous three skewers of shrimp but pretty bland. Spaghetti with rose sauce was just a big glob of spaghetti tossed with sauce. Overall an okay meal but nothing left me wanting to rush back. No free refills on pop which is just plain cheap considering fountain pop costs about 2 cents a glass. read more

A nice, family-friendly restaurant. They have a decent-sized menu at affordable prices, as well as daily specials worth trying. The service was pleasant and fast. I had the worst experience dining out for lunch today at Rickyjo's. I was shocked after 20 years of great service and food. The food was great. However, our waitress Brandi was the most rude and condescending person I have ever met in my life. We waited 20 minutes to get drinks at our table and that includes waiting to be asked what we wanted. The place was not overly busy. I had to find her and ask her when she had a moment if she could take our order because I have a little one with me. I was polite asking her but she clearly took offence to what I asked. She served us food and she never came back to ask us how it was, or if we needed anything. We had to ask her to come over when we needed hot sauce. Then when we were finished I said, "excuse me". She cut me off and told me she was getting our bill and that she has other guests to serve. Then I told her I understood as I was a waitress. Then she seemed bothered by me saying that! Brandi then said, "I have been a waitress for 30 years" (with pure attitude) then walked away. My friend and I just looked at each other in disbelief. The lady that seats guests to their tables and another family at a both could not believe how Brandi spoke to me!! They both commented on how rudely I was treated. They saw the whole thing happen.The manager refused to come speak to me when I requested to speak to him/her. Then on our way out, I filled out a comment card and my friend read it. Brandi spoke up from the tables behind us and said, "Go a head and fill out the comment card the cameras showed it only took 8 minutes to get your drink" (earlier I had made a diplomatic complaint to the bar tender that drinks took 20 minutes and we have been waiting a while for our food). She was very nice and apologized and I said, "its ok" and I commented that we were a little disappointed in the service. I handed my daughter to my friend and asked her to put her in the car. Then I turned around and said to Brandi, "You are the rudest waitress I have ever had" She said something to me but I was so upset I can not recall but it was nothing nice. I then asked to speak to the manager again for a second time. I felt so violated and so offended I needed to let a manager know! I just could not believe how this lady was treating me. It was so terrible. THE MANAGER REFUSED TO SPEAK TO ME AGAIN!!! I have never made a complaint about any service on line before until today. I assure you the food is great, it always has been. Our server was, bold, rude and condescending to the point I came home so upset!!!!! I never let things get the best of me but this was just a terrible experience that upset us, and others that witnessed this whole ordeal around us. What kind of manager refuses to speak to a upset customer????? Terrible business ethics. Part of my job is to refer guests to dining places. I will never send anybody back to this restaurant due to the fact that the Manager refused to speak to me twice. The service was bad, but I would have been willing to go back and send business their way had a Manager properly taken care of this matter. Basically, Brandi was allowed to get away with treating me horrible and with a lot of bad attitude on top of it all. read more

Came to RickiJo's for wings based on the recommendation of #2 best wings in St Catharines... Will never return. Waitress Maria was just so rude and unfriendly from the moment she approached our table. She faced us for 2 seconds, asked for drinks while looking off to the side at other ppl in the restaurant. She didn't say hi, how are you ... Nothing. She never refilled my boyfriend's drink which sat empty. BUT was very quick to come back after she handed us the bill to collect payment, mind you, getting the bill took forever because she stopped to chat with the guy at the bar. My review is basically what others are saying. This establishment has great chicken wings! The other food on the menu js also good at fair prices. The selection is good. Something for everyone, including gluten free selection. The service on the other hand is not consistent. They're have been times today (Sept 7, 2016) when I have went and the server was fantastic (thanks Samantha!). There also have been times I have went and the service was down right pathetic or/and server was rude...and surprisingly, that usually happens on a non-busy day or time. Went to Rickijo's for the first time after it being highly recommended. Maybe I went on an off night! We were seated immediately but waited 20 mins to be asked if we wanted drinks. Service was ok following that.. server was polite but food & drinks were slow coming out. Menu was ok... nothing special. The reason for my 3/5 rating is that it was evident that one of the servers (not ours) was friends with another customer sitting near us. These people were sat after us and had their food and drinks before us. It's always nice to know the workers... but come on. Likely won't return. read more

When reading reviews I always take the advice with a grain of salt since everyone has different opinions!! One thing is for sure...this is definitely a great place for wings!! I do suggest going on Wing Special nights for better value if you don't like paying much for them. But you really get what you pay for..they are amazing..and good size wings!! But our family likes all the food here pretty much! Tonight we started with the spinach and artichoke dip! Not too bad..but the hubby prefers soft pita bread when dipping so maybe have your warm tortilla chips and include some warm soft pita bread pieces too..just a suggestion though. The chicken Caesar salad was reallyyyyy good!! Just enough dressing and didn't slack on the real bacon pieces either!! Our daughter had the steak quesadilla which she really enjoyed. Their perogies have changed recently..they are smaller but you get 2 more than before too so it evens out I think. But it's nice to go to a restaurant that rarely fails you no matter what you order! We have enjoyed everything from the fish and chips to the steak hoagies. Try it out and see for yourselves. And the prices are average! I wish people would remember..even McDonalds had gotten pricer..and this is a nice sit down meal!! Service was great..only complaint...the restaurant was quite cold tonight!! Needed to keep our coats on when eating...not our thing! I would suggest turning the heat up or insulating some walls. Never an enjoyable dinner when your hands are freezing.
