From the decor, service and prices I was expecting first class food, but not only did it fall short, it fell flat on its face. Shrimp was water logged (frozen and not property thawed), flat bread crust was burned around edges but cold underneath with large pieces of unmelted mozzarella, the breading on the fried tomatoes was undercooked as were the tomatoes, and on and on. This was representation of the rest of the meal as well. The salt and pepper bar potato chips were unimpressive. If you expect me to pay top dollar for an ounce of scotch, the least you can do is serve it the way I asked for it. At this level of pricing, the bartender should know the difference between neat and straight up. If I am going to pay $ 32 for an entree and $ 15 for an appetizer, I expect them to be made in the restaurant kitchen, not in a commissary belonging to the supplier, offloaded from a truck and warmed. Food was wayyyyy overpriced for the quality, no originality, portions average. Server was attentive and knowledgeable, but too rehearsed with gratuitous reponses. Too many servers, managers, waiters, etc. bumping into each other. Music was 1930s, not my style, but ok. Bar area has mostly high tops which were not comfortable, dining room was claustrophobic with too much drapery, but nice privacy. Has a 1930s grandma's dining room feel. Lighting ok, decor very expensive with lots of wood, etc. Wait time for first food was 45 minutes---unacceptable for food that was already prepared. Maybe someone forgot to thaw the food for service which would explain the soggy shrimp cocktail. If you want to pay top dollar to look at nicely decorated architecture, this is the place for you. If you want good food, flavorful, creative and made from scratch menu items, go somewhere else---there are a dozen bars in the area that serve the same selections at half the price and prepared to perfection. They just don't have white tablecloths or mirrored walls. read more

I booked a Rehearsal Dinner Party for March 30,2019. I was concerned not living in the area and never having eaten here. From beginning to end my experience was OUTSTANDING! Everything was booked via phone and email. Megan was so Kind and Informative about every single one of my concerns! I think the other young lady i spoke with on Thursday was Emily or Brittany (mother of the groom brain)! Whatever her name she was Great, even insured I would have access to drop off the Grooms Cake before they opened! Thanks Megan you made everything so easy and pleasant!! We had a party of Sixteen people and everyone was AMAZED and IMPRESSED with the food and service. Our menu was a mix of everything. Everything was cooked to perfection! We enjoyed a mix of appetizers (fried green tomatoes YUM)! Absolutely DELICIOUS!!!! The wedding party couldn't stop raving about the experience The Servers were so accommodating! Donna made sure we lacked for nothing! She and I think it was Mario were TOP NOTCH! Donna truly went above and beyond to provide a FANTASTIC and STRESS FREE experience. Give Donna a Raise! Finally a first class restaurant in the Upstate! The interior design is stunning -similar to big city decor: contemporary, yet warm and comfortable. We dined twice and the food was superb both times: mussels appetizer with a light wine sauce, tasty coriander scallops. While the first server was disappointingly naive, the second was excellent. We decided to ask the management if they would develop a multi-course menu, with wine pairings, for a party of 12 and they agreed. I was afraid it might be too expensive, with small portions, but I was completely wrong. The entire evening was heavenly: cordial and efficient service - understated and smooth. Every course was substantial and a feast for the eyes as well. The manager/sommelier selected excellent wines for each course and took the time to describe the wines as well. Some of our 'big red' wine enthusiasts, actually enjoyed the Riesling and Chardonnay - they were that special. All enjoyed the wine variety and quality, complementing each course perfectly. From the roasted beet and carrot salad, to the lobster mascarpone ravioli, to the goat cheesecake, every course was delicious and beautifully presented. Great details too, like two types of mustard for the charcuterie platter, local wildflower honey on salad, homemade ravioli, warm, fresh bread, light caramel sauce with dessert. My son and his fiancee chose Rick Erwin's at Patrick Square for their rehearsal dinner On July 9, 2021. We all were more Than pleased with this restaurant. From the beginning the general manager, Eric Holton, was very helpful to us. Malachi, our chef, prepared the food to perfection. it was delicious and everyone was pleased with the food they chose. My oldest son is a vegetarian with allegeries to nuts. A special meal was prepared for him. our servers, Jay and Zoe and others took excellent care of us. Now for Eric again. He was beyond attentive to me from the first meeting I had with him. He also met with the bride and groom to finalize details. The day of the rehearsal dinner I had a groom's Cake and flowers to place on the tables. They were immediately taken from me to our dining room. When I said I needed a drink Eric offered my sister and me drinks on him at the bar. Ywong made an excellent drink for us, university summer, which many of us ordered at the dinner Thanks to Michael for designing this delicious drink. Being my favorite place to dine this review has had me torn. Somethings you just can't turn your head away and pretend you didn't see. While having a late dinner a couple of nights ago the restaurant seemed to be having some power issues. Understandable. But what is not understandable was the manager/bartender ??? not sure of this gentleman's title, serving liqueur shots to the staff. What is not acceptable is knowing several members of the staff that were served are underage. Knowing this because I know the parents of at least 2 that were served. My question to you Rick Erwin directly would be is this type of behavior acceptable in your establishment? Being a parent myself how can any of your businesses be trusted if a child of mine one day comes to me and wants to be an employee of yours? What is your policy on drug use? Do you test the individuals employed by you? Did you know by very simple questioning after the incident I witnessed rumors indicate excessive drug use/selling among employees? I really hope to see this issue addressed and not swept under the rug. read more

First-rate service all the way by all staff, for my SO and me. The food was great, even the Fried Green Tomatoes (I wonder why the "Whistle Stop" in Juliette, GA doesn't make them that way?). My kale salad was excellent as was my Red Snapper (just like I used to catch all the time in the FL Keys as a kid). My SO's Hamburger Steak was excellent as well. I could tell that the Key Lime pie was real Key Lime (just like we used to raise). The atmosphere was great - not as stuffy as I was led to believe. I would have been fine in my warm leather jacket and new jeans, but my SO and I dressed up for our anniversary and were fine in "Goin' to the theater" clothes. Some meals and sides are too pricey for someone on Disability, ours were priced fairly and not the lowest of the list. We both took half of our meals home. read more

I was disappointed in Rick Erwins for the first time on several points. First, for a Saturday 6 pm reservation they were out of bone in pork chops?? I usually order steak but wanted a change, very poor planning for only 2 hours after opening on a Saturday night. Second, I ordered salmon, it was raw in the middle. Now COVID, there was a large party (I assume a holiday party) right behind our table. At least 30 individuals mostly dressed in jeans (which is ok) but without mask paraded past our table. Throughout our dinner they passed us in and out using the facilities - all without mask. Will try Vangeli's in Seneca next and give Rick's a breather. read more

My husband and I celebrated his birthday here. Both of us decided on the Surf and Turf special. The filet mignon was wonderful. It was well-seasoned and melt in my mouth tender! I also liked the mixed vegetables that were served with the Surf and Turf. They were julienned and stir fried and well seasoned. For dessert, my husband chose the creme brûlée and I had the flourless chocolate cake with a side of ice cream. Yummy! The service was excellent; attentive but not hovering or rushed. My wife and I celebrated her birthday with dinner here. We found the staff at this restaurant to be very friendly and willing to go out of their way to serve us. They handled all the small details very well. The menu offers something for everyone and we were never told they were "out of any item" as has happened at other similar establishments. Our food came quickly, yet we never felt rushed. The quality and preparation of the food was outstanding. We have eaten at Rick Erwin and Nantucket in Greenville several times. We decided to try the new location in Central. The restaurant is a nice addition to the area with the interior of the restaurant being very nice. Our food was very good. The service was not bad but not to the level we have experienced in Greenville. At over 400.00 for a party of 5, we expected outstanding service. Hopefully with time, the service can match the price and quality of the food. Our wait staff were not very knowledgeable with wine and beer selections. read more

Ceasar salad looked like a bagged salad from Publix -- no anchovy, no crouton. 20 minute wait for our cocktails -- and then one was incorrect. Lackluster "hostess" -- no goodbye when we left, etc. Had to ask for bread, then had to ask for butter. Really, better value and service at Ruby Tuesday. Will NOT go back. Let's talk about risotto for a sec. Its one of those hit or miss menu items. Well at RE's it's a HIT!! I will LITERALLY order just sides of the dish. YUMMMY PEOPLE YUMMY. Anyway. I've been a few times these past couple of months. One time I totally spilled the oil and balsamic all over the place. (Embarrassing? Totally). Dawson served our husband and I last night and it was fabulous! Not only was the food & wine amazing, but our server knew everything about the menus and features. My husband and I are from NYC, and been to lots of fine dining restaurants... but we have never had such an amazing surf and turf. The portion sizes were plenty & the wine pours were perfect. Outstanding dining experience. Table was ready and waiting. Wait staff was prompt and very attentive to service. Beverages were refilled without asking or delay. Additional bread was served without asking. Main course was exceptional. Steaks were prepared perfectly and both were special requests, one medium rare- and one medium rare+. Had a dinner party for 22 for our 50th Anniversary. Everything was perfect. We used their private room, had plenty of seating and there were several staff that served apps and wine and dinners right on schedule. Food was great - steaks, seafood, dessert - everything was just as any find dining should be. Would and probably will go back there any time we have an event or just for the two of us for dinner. Great dining experience! Greeted warmly by the hostess and seated as soon as I arrived. The entire service staff were cordial and I never had to ask for anything. I enjoyed the 11 ounce Filet Mignon. It was cooked perfectly to my preference. The wine recommended by David, my waiter, was a perfect compliment to my steak. Had Valentine's Day reservations - seated at 630 pm (on time); however, did not get the meal until after 8 pm...(kitchen staff was terrible). Worst experience I've ever had at this place. The waiter (John) was great - not his fault. The management provided us with free desert; however, the kitchen staff delivered it before we got our meal (sent it back).
