Rich,s Tree Service was great! My first experience with them, but could not have been more positive. The estimator was right on time, and gave a very knowledgeable assessment of what needed to be done. We wanted to "trim up" a very old maple that needed thinning and trimming as we were worried about the condition of the tree and it's proximity to our house. The estimator assured us tree was solid, just needed some thinning and topping. We also had three Noble firs that had died, also within striking distance of our house. No problem, estimator gave us an itemized estimate per tree... The crew was also right on time on the appointed day, we did a quick walk through, and they went to work. The crew was efficient and thorough. The entire crew was friendly and positive as they went about their work, not to mention respectful of potential impact of to other pieces of the landscape. I've used Rich's twice now. I usually do my own tree cutting on our acreage, but I was afraid to tackle removal of a Sweet Gum tree that had gotten too big and was too close to the house. Rich's crew took it down efficiently and safely and let me save a few dollars by cutting it into firewood lengths and doing the clean up once they got it down. A short time later I called them again - there were some large fir trees fairly close to the house - I had planned on climbing and topping the one that was leaning toward the house, by myself, but after a dizzy spell, decided I better have the professionals do it! (I'm 83) I was totally impressed with the service in every way - the expert work, the equipment, the promptness, the careful asking and listening to exactly what work I wanted done (as long as they were coming out, I asked them to take out a couple other trees and do a bunch of trimming and chipping), what hard workers their employees are, and their courtesy. read more

Rich's Tree Service removed an Oak tree in my backyard and a Spruce in my front yard in January 2014. They were both getting way too large for the place they were planted in by previous owners. They did a good job getting them out but there were more roots left than I had expected. That's why my 4 stars instead of 5. With all the sawdust left from grinding the stumps, I couldn't tell right away. Since I didn't pay for the removal of sawdust and wood, it took some time to clean it all up with the help of family. I agree their service is expensive but it does take a lot of time and equipment. They were very careful in protecting the house from falling limbs since some of them were hanging over the roof and deck. They do offer a 10% discount if you act on the bid timely. I would use them again if I had large trees to trim or remove. read more

I recently had some large fir trees dying on my property near my home and garage. I got multiple bids on the project and Rich's tree service was about in the middle of the prices quoted. I chose Rich's because I used them years ago and was very pleased. This was a difficult job because the trees where near a busy street, access was limited and my home and my neighbors were very close to the trees. The crew showed up on time, met with me shortly to go over the project as I had some request and asked for some specific needs. I left for work and when I returned home that evening they had finished the job perfectly and my landscape was cleaned up better than before they arrived. Rich's was very responsive and gave me an estimate and fit me in for tree removal the same day. They had a bucket and the tree was located in the wetland on our property. The removal was difficult, but they were professionals and the job was done well. The tree was headed toward our house. The tree had cracked and fallen part way, but for Rich's getting there quickly it would have hit the house with a good wind. Thank you Rich's for being there when we needed you and keeping my family safe. As far as cost it wasn't inexpensive, but due to the emergency nature, difficulty, and adjustment necessary to their schedule I doubt I could have done much better or I could have but been unable to have it removed immediately. This was the second time I have used their service. The first time I had several trees and shrubs trimmed or pruned, and was very pleased with the work and the attitude of the crew. This time I had 2 trees removed, six trees trimmed, and quite a few over-grown shrubs pruned also. The crew was always professional and actually listened to my wants and concerns, giving advice when needed, otherwise going ahead with very good work. One huge silver maple, which was a possible danger to the house, was taken down carefully and quickly with no damage done whatsoever. I have used Rich's Tree Service for over 25 years to take care of trees on a number of my rental properties, for my home does not have any trees. I have used them to either take down trees, or trim them. I have not had any problems with them. They have been professional, courteous, worked with my schedule, were there in an emergency, cleaned up after them selves, and were there when they said they would be. There has not been any property damage when the trees were in tight areas. I do not hesitate to call them when I need any "tree service". I've used Rich's Tree Service several times. Once to trim the branches from a neighbor's fir tree that was growing over the fence, lying on my roof and covering a parking area in front of a carport. The owner of the tree refused to do it.......and it was interfering with my ability to park my 5th wheel next to MY fence. They went up 30' - and did an excellent job at clean up. The second time was to remove a large maple tree that was interfering with my front yard and water pipes with it's roots. The tree was down, chipped and they were out of here within an hour! Rich's Tree Service did a great job for us! They came right out and gave us a written quote on cutting down a few big maples in our back yard that were causing problems. They offered us a 10% discount. They showed up on time the day we scheduled the service with four guys who took care of the problem trees in no time! The bill arrived in a few days and as EXACTLY what the quote said! They cleaned up after themselves and left the area cleaner than when they arrived. Rich's Tree Service came to our home to remove a tree. The tree was a spruce about 70 feet high and next to the house. They climbed up the trunk and began removing sections starting at the top working downward, Thy removed the tree without damaging the house or rain gutters. They cleaned the yard and shredded all the small branches. Larger limbs and the trunk they cut into fireplace lengths for us. They completed the work quickly and inexpensively. We hadn't used Rich's in 10 years and our pine tree had grown a lot so they had a full day of work with a full team. They were great and worked around garbage pickup in the morning. They warned us to clear the back yard so they wouldn't harm anything. It was a rainy day and they worked in good cheer. They cleaned up the yard really well and left us a neat pile of 4' limbs fully trimmed for the fireplace. I highly recommend them. It was expensive but well worth it. read more

We had 3 bids on a 120 + foot Cottonwood tree. It was situated between 2 homes on the property line. Our houses are separated by 23 feet. My neighbor and I split the cost. Riche's are pros with the equipment it takes to do a job like this. I felt that their estimate was reasonable for the job that had to be done. They didn't hit our houses. I had Rich's come out and trim my way overgrown tree a few months back. Theirs service was great! The crew showed up early and cleaned up when they were done. They even offered some advice on how to better control my tree since a big concern were limbs falling on the neighbor's house. Fantastic job pruning a mature Mimosa tree, removing dead branches, carefully removing several significant branches growing towards the house, trimmed up low hanging branches, installed a 1.4 ton Cobra cable to address the center trunk split, chipped and removed resulting branches.
