The food is great. Drinks are pretty strong. Chill place. It's tucked away in the cut and they are friendly.

I was there for a private event. The crowd was warm and wonderfully mixed. There was a little chat before the event began that basically told us to not get kicked out by being mean or non-inclusive. Not sure how I felt about that. Parking in Carytown is its own contact sport. Come early -- your blood pressure will thank you. I parked 6 blocks away and was lucky to get that. Bottom line: Weird, welcoming, and worth every lap around the block looking for a spot if you're into crowds and are looking for something different.

Came here with friends and it seems like a cool spot, especially for an older crowd. The charcuterie board we ordered was excellent and a highlight of the night. The location is also great for nightlife. That said, the drinks didn't quite hit the mark for me, and the service was inconsistent. We were told guests are expected to be quiet during the sets, yet another group was talking loudly and nothing was addressed, which felt a bit uneven. Overall, it's not a place I'd return to, and I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a more diverse crowd.

Went to the Broadberry for the first time for a concert! It is a pretty large space with a small…read morestage leading to a very intimate experience. Apparently the capacity is 500 so be prepared to be close to others if your show is sold out! Showed up early prior to doors opening to ensure we got a good spot which is a must especially if you'd like to be close to the stage. The staff was really friendly and set up barricades by the door which helped corral the line. I loved that they had a metal detector set up and a security check point. I felt very safe and comfortable the whole time. I will say be prepared to stand for an extended period especially if you show up early. There is little to no seating available and as show time nears it is practically standing room only. So wear comfy shoes! Overall it's a nice venue and I am glad we have it as an option here in Richmond!

I could eat it every day. My cousins had the drunken noodles and crab fried rice. We also had the veggie gyozas and fried Crab Rangoon. I wish the crab rangoon was crispier, but it was still good. MPM is a very cute space. I love the design of tiki bars and I think it's the best place for a first date or girls day out. I will be returning to check out their happy hour and specialty cocktails.

At first, I wasn't completely sold after looking at the menu as I didn't immediately see anything I wanted to eat as most tiki bars we have been to are more on the dive bar side so regular bar foods. So, the plan was to grab a couple drinks and find dinner somewhere else nearby. I am so glad my fiancé talked me into staying because this place absolutely knocked me off my feet. -I highly recommend the Nuclear Hawaiian and the Hello Kitty!!!! When we mentioned we weren't sure about the food, the bartenders jumped right in with recommendations and suggested the calamari and crab rangoon and they were spot on! When the food arrived, everything was perfectly cooked. The calamari was tender with a great texture, and the crab rangoon was crisp with amazing flavor. I went from I am not hungry to I could eat multiple plates of the same thing. We ended up staying for hours watching college football and mingling with some of the regulars. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and we genuinely had such fun conversation with people around us. We even heard from several folks that this place really comes alive during karaoke nights. At one point an older heavyset lady who we later found out was one of the cooks came out to chat with people. She was checking in to make sure everyone liked their food and catching up with the regulars like family. it really showed how much the staff cares about the people that walk through the door. MPM Tiki Bar feels like a true local gem with great drinks, delicious food, and a staff that makes you feel welcome from the moment you sit down. I honestly wish I lived closer because I would be here multiple times a week. if your anywhere near this restaurant, dont skip this spot trust me!

The cauliflower wings were HUGE and the whole table enjoyed them. My partner got the vegan artichoke ("GWARtichoke") burger with tofu ricotta and that was awesome too. And they have a parking lot which is so convenient. Did not love the plastic silverware in little disposable packs. (For dining in, real metal utensils are much appreciated pleeeease). Service wasn't super friendly but maybe it's part of the GWAR schtick (they weren't mean at all, just not the most hospitable). We didn't mind anyway. The food came out fast and they got all our orders right. You order at the bar so it's not like you have a server anyway.

We actually wondered if it was supposed to be a "Dicks Last Resort " kinda vibe. (The waiter was just this side of rude). The food was ok. The only thing we couldn't get down was the pretzel. It was so salty just looking at it made blood pressure rise. Even with all that though you should still go. It's a fun vibe. Sit and have a beer and take in all the nostalgia.
