Mini burgers
Minji S.

I thought the pub was pretty cool- had an arcade, pool table and a playground for the kids. My friends and I went here for drinks. We first ordered our drinks and they came quickly enough. However, the problem was when we were trying to order mini burgers afterwards. None of the servers would look us in the eye, and when our server eventually saw us signalling them, our server actually waved back at us and went back to talking to his co-workers. Eventually, we had to stop a busboy who told our server that we wanted to order something else. After that, the server seemed to have learned his lesson and continuously came by to ask if we needed anything else. Unfortunately, the waiting did not end there because the mini burgers took forever to make as well. Honestly, the food was okay, drinks were pretty good and the pub itself was a good place to hang out and have fun. However, the service could be worked on.

Decent pub, a mainstay of the area.. Growing up in Richboro, the Pub was one of the staple, go-to restaurants in the area. Now they have expanded a bit and changed their name to Big Heads, but nevertheless, it is basically the same as years ago. FOOD Pretty basic American food menu, but it is all pretty good. I'm a big fan of the cheesesteak here. The meat is chopped, and the bread is very soft, so it's basically the anti-Steve's steaks. I've had other things too like the wings and soup. It's all pretty good food for a pub, but nothing over the top amazing. The portion size is also decent, not too small or too big, just the right amount. SERVICE The service here is so-so. Usually you seat yourself when you walk in, and it sometimes take a little bit for the waitress to take the order and such. I will say that one time I spilled some sauce on my pants, and without even asking the waitress brought over club soda to help me wash out the stains. I was pretty impressed and made a good impression in my mind. ATMOSPHERE This place has really changed in the past few years. I see they've tried to make the place much for family friendly, making the entire back of the restaurant into a play area with video games, and rooms for birthday parties. PRICE This place isn't going to bust your wallet, the prices are pretty fair. For a cheesesteak and 6 wings, my bill came out to around $15 including tip. The soup here is a tiny bit on the expensive side, but beyond that everything is around the price point it should be. As someone who grew up in Richboro, this was a good place to eat for any situation. It's nothing special, however the food is always good and the price is fair for what you get. The place may have changed a bit in the past few years to get a different patron in the restaurant, but the food is just as good as always.

We went for the happy hour app and drink specials for our birthdays, but because it took our server 15 minutes to come back and check on us, they wouldn't let us get the specials. (Felt intentional, like they were stalling) Our server was nice, but not attentive at all. I would have given it 4 or 5 stars if it wasnt so pricey and the service was better. We will definitely give it a weekend try, just in case it was an off night. Tip: I was not a fan of sitting in the half booth tables right by the hostess stand. It was extra dark and it felt more like where you sit while waiting for your actual table. Ask to be seated further in the dining room...it is really cool inside! Big parties can even get seated IN a birdcage!

Our server Max was attentive throughout, always making sure we were taken care of and waters full! We both had the burger and I'm not lying when I say it's one of the best burgers I've had. I normally ask for sauce or mayo but the burger was so juicy on its own it didn't need any sauce. It was cooked perfectly and all the toppings were fresh. We both opted for onion petals instead of fries which is definitely the move - make sure you get the chipotle aoli (thanks again, Max!) I washed it down with the strawberry basil bourbon smash which was wonderful. Everything was fantastic and I can't wait to try the rest of the menu. So glad this spot is back up and thriving!

Finally a bus boy came up and said you can sit anywhere you want. (Then why have a portable sign facing the door that says "Please wait to be seated"? We walked into the tavern past several occupied tables and by the bar which had many patrons. We waited 15 minutes for someone to come to the table which was in plain sight of the bar and bartender. Nobody came over at all. So, we left.

But that truly was our only negative. Our server, Rachael, was excellent and we credited her great service to adding to our awesome dinner at 59 Almshouse. Started with a round of cocktails. I normally get a dirty martini but those short stubby martini glasses ruin it for me...I dislike those glasses. I took the lead from our friend who raved about the Smokey Old Fashion. He was right...one of the best cocktails I have had outside of my regular dirty martini. I look forward to ordering that every time now. It had a bit too much ice so next time I will request less ice for sure. And wow...the smell of the smoke and the drink were outstanding. The menu choices are all so good...difficult to choose bc I wanted about 10 things...I was ready to switch it up from my normal ahi tuna which I get every time. Well, I picked the mahi-mahi fajitas. This has now taken first place and moved up to my new favorite. I loved it! Sooo much food that I hope to share it next time. Leftovers are fine too. They do the fajitas extremely well and I highly recommend. Hubs ordered the Thanksgiving dinner, which is funny since Thanksgiving is in a few days. But that too was outstanding. (I had to taste it) It was a generous portion and he "gobbled" up a good amount and raved how good it was several times as he was eating. Hubs rarely gets that excited about his food which says a lot. Our friends enjoyed and raved about their food as well. Not sure there is a bad thing on the menu. Everything was cooked perfectly and served hot. They do this extremely well. I am not deducting a star for the noise level bc they truly deserve 5 stars. My compliments to the chef and to our server Rachel.

My parents have been eyeing this Irish bar for a while now, and we finally visited it!…read more Firstly, I love that they have so many Guinness flavored items. As a Guinness girlie, it made me very excited hehe. They also have a lot of fun winter cocktails! I decided to go with the Horne tini because apparently it came with an Irish potato?? Unfortunately they had run out, but I deffo need to get my hands on one of those next time. My drink was delicious, and my parents loved theirs too. Everything we ate was soooo yum. The sweet and spicy sweet potato fries were perfect, the soup was so good, and I was very happy with my Irish grilled cheese sandwich. The lamb shank was HUGE and incredible, and the meat was cooked perfectly. I would honestly visit again just for that lamb shank. The bar was popping! So many people and such nice happening vibes. Our waitress, Kayla, was seriously so incredible. She added so much to the whole experience of our night. She was extremely patient, kind, and genuinely took care of us. The restaurant is really lucky to have her!

Ordered the crispy pork roll bites and was pleasantly surprised - very good. The cheese dip side was a little solid though, kinda gross but fine.
