If you're in search of a great beer selection in North Dallas, THIS IS THE PLACE. Don't go anywhere else. Seriously! One day on the way home from work, I stopped by this place and I've never looked back. Even though we don't live anywhere near Richardson Beer & Wine, we consistently make the drive when we're looking to re-stock our beer selection. The owner is very friendly and always offers up recommendations. Recently, we were looking for some bombers for a special occasion. We stopped at five other stores (I am not kidding!) before giving up and making the drive to Richardson Beer & Wine. Other stores had- at most- 3 or 4 bombers to choose from. Richardson Beer & Wine had 50+ to choose from. The prices here are fair - they aren't cheap, but they also aren't as expensive as nearly all the other stores we've shopped at. The parking in the strip mall is limited, but there are some dedicated spots for the beer & wine store, which is nice. We won't go anywhere else for beer shopping. Unfortunately, they only sell beer & wine, which means if we need liquor, we have to make another stop. That's the only thing keeping me from 5 stars! read more

Richardson is a geographical oddity with a severe lack of liquor stores for a traveler to find. I JUST WANTED SOME MODERATELY PRICED RUM TO BRING BACK TO MY HOTEL ROOM, SUSAN. I had to settle for beer and/or wine at this place, a few miles down the road from my hotel since I couldn't find a liquor store selling something harder. Since my options were beer and/or wine I started at one end of the refrigerator units and worked my way toward the end looking for the highest ABV at the lowest price. It was the same methodology I used traveling through France a decade ago as a student which led to resounding success finding barleywine at well above 10% and less than 5 euros per can in Rouen, which conveniently was having race riots at the time to add a nice, je ne sais quoi, #aesthetic. Here at the beer & wine shoppe in jolly old U S and A the best deal to be found was Unibroue's La Fin du Monde, which captured my preference for all things Frenchy or at least Québécois as a plan B. 9% at $10.99 for a 4 pack. I've paid far less for a 4 pack of this at stores in Houston, but considering it's a nice beer and my hotel bar was charging slightly less than $10 for little league ballpark-quality beer it made ALL the sense to do it. This store had a wide selection beyond my Quebecois tasty treats. A sixer of Victory's Golden Monkey was $12.99; a 4 pack of Ommegang's Three Philosopher's was $16.99 which seemed a bit inflated, but I was still mulling it over in that part of the store before I found my girl Unibroue a few refrigeration units down the line later. The guy behind the counter was pleasant. A food delivery guy that delivered food into the store (presumably for the guy) double-parked me so I was a little tiny-tantrum-brewing. Besides removing the clutter (boxes of beers) from the floor that make navigating the narrow aisles of the store a little difficult with more than one person in there looking at the refrigeration units to select beer, I would recommend the food service delivery guys get explicit instructions not to double-park patrons who just paid money and were trying to leave the tiny parking lot to go back to their hotel and drink their purchase. Conveniently located just outside the entrance to UT-Dallas for students and parents visiting their son/daughter at UT-Dallas. read more

3 stars. They have a good selection of beer here. A great one actually. Just be aware that they don't take proper care of their inventory. Many items are out of date and have not been stored cold. You can get dark beers and sours that are in great shape but be wary of their IPAs. Check the can date and if it's more than a couple of weeks old you will probably get a malt bomb. read more

I love this place. Not only is it close to home, but they have a great selection. Plenty of limited release and seasonals in 4/6 packs and large format bottles. The owner is always working and very knowledgeable about the beers they have and always willing to show what is new. STOP BY!! BEER AND WINE!!! Richardson is semi dry. This place is open on Sundays, and selling... you guessed it, beer and wine. By the way travelers, you cannot buy liquor ANYWHERE in Texas on Sunday. We love this local quick stop, with an excellent variety of beer and wine. The owner is awesome, knowledgeable, and friendly. The prices are maybe a little higher than the bulk store, or the local GIANT super mega store, but here we have personal service, and selection. I see previous reviewers knocking the place because Richardson does not server liquor????? Take that up with the city, but please remember you are in a local semi dry city. Go a few miles down the road and the next city has entirely different alcohol laws. I cannot endorse this shop enough. If you need a quick place to grab a couple of bottles of wine, for a dinner party, look no further. If you like craft beers.... He has you covered. Enjoy. See you there. :) read more

Fantastic selection at a decent price. However rumor is that they turn off their coolers each night, which I think may be true. Even when I stop in at 5:00 after work the beer is warm. I'd go the day before and stick it in your fridge. Please keep your coolers cold, thanks read more
